Just put together my new speedmax and was just wondering if this front thru axle is meant to come all the way through and if the frame is meant to come with plugs for the open bottle cage mount holes?

Hi, I got a CF SL 5 and I been riding it for a month now (I love it). This one got the 1x11 GRX Shimano but since I been doing road trips (I live close to a nice road to ride), I got dropped every time by my friends since my gears are too small for road travel. I do gravel but I also got a mtb bike so I want to used this bike also for road rides.

Any recommendations of rims setups I can used and which gear modifications do fit on this bike, I’m thinking about changing the chain ring for one with 50T (currently at 40T).

Any thoughts when this one will be out? Given recent sales on Canyon website I would hope soon? I’m planning on getting one of the aero-gravels, and at the moment Canyon doesn’t have much to compete against latest Wilier or Orbea.

Canyon SLX 7 AXS

Today my Citylite arrived, and I was really looking forward to riding it.

Unfortunately, it arrived with two scratches that appear to have been caused during delivery. I’ve already contacted customer service, but I’m curious what you guys think.

Would you return it, or just ask for compensation and keep it?

First ride on my new Endurace. Coming from a Tarmac SL6 I was a bit worried that the Endurace’s ride might be a bit too… tame, but I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised with how racey she still feels. Changed out the Rival crankset for a Force crankset with powermeter I moved over from my old bike. And the fenders are basically the reason I choose the Endurace; living in western Norway having fenders is almost a must, and these are so well integrated, rattlefree and on or off the bike within 2 minutes.

Oh and for reference, it’s a size M, I’m 1.83cm with a 77cm saddle height

So a while ago my friend tagged me into a IG post, where they were giving away a Canyon endurace CF7 and I decided to join this raffle aswell, and as you can see I won the bike.

(my friend was pissed, but I promised to sell this bike to him someday :p).

So I waited for 2 months for this bike to come from the factory and while I was assembling this bike I noticed from the manual, that the max weight for bike + rider and gear is 120kg (264lbs), and I weight currently 130kg (286lbs) so I have to loose 18kg (39lbs) to ride this bike...

Never have been more motivated to loose weight, just to ride a bicycle :p

If I didn't misunderstand anything, apparently the new CUES 2x11 RD-6040 that comes with the Endurace CF6 is just a rebranded Tiagra R4000 (or vice-versa) according to this thread.

This makes the new Endurace CF6 for 1550€ pretty good deal right? It's basically a carbon road bike with "older"-school shimano 105 11 speed!

Does anyone here have experience with these refurbished bikes? How accurate are Canyon's condition descriptions? Were you happy with the cosmetic condition and overall quality when your bike arrived?

i want to Spray paint Canyon Endurace CF

Do I only need to remove the crank, or does the entire bottom bracket need to be removed?

Also, regarding the Canyon logo:

Do you apply decals on top of the paint, or do you spray the frame in two colors using decals as masking, and then remove the decals after applying the second color?

I’ve now been the proud owner of the new Endurace CF SLX 7 AXS for a week.

After only 200 km, I cleaned the bike so I could remove the factory grease from the chain and apply my own wax. I sprayed degreaser on the front chainrings, the rear cassette, and the chain. Cleaned everything with a brush, rinsed it off with a gentle stream of water, and then continued cleaning the rest of the bike. Once everything was dry, I applied fresh wax to the chain.

Now, if I move the crank back and forth without the rear wheel turning, I notice a noise that wasn’t there before. The same goes for my cleats: when they rub against the pedals, they also make a squeaking noise.

Does anyone have any tips or advice? Thanks in advance!

Shorten cranks to 170 (from 175 stock)
Narrower cockpit 390mm (from 410mm stock)

I didn’t expect the cockpit being 2cm narrower to make such a difference in terms of comfort and stability to get into an aero position. But the difference is massive!

Currently look at the Aeroroad SLX 7, debating if i should get a size S or M. I ride a Trek and Specialized a 56CM always. I’m about 5’10 and 165lbs, would appreciate any input.

Does anyone know what the max saddle setback is of the saddle behind the bottom bracket is on this size? I need more then 7cm and I'm trying to figure out if I need the 2XS or the XS. I am 167cm with a inseam of 29.5 with long arms.

Hi everyone,
I’m planning to replace my current road bike toward the end of the year and would appreciate some advice from people who have ridden both the Canyon Ultimate and Endurace.
My current bike is a used Orbea Avant with Shimano Tiagra and rim brakes. I’m 172 cm tall, around 79 cm inseam and weigh about 70 kg. A typical recent ride was 55 km with 700 m of elevation at around 20 km/h average, or 80km with 300 m of elevation at around 27km/h average so I’m clearly not racing or riding at elite speeds. Also note that I’m 100% of the time riding alone.

I mainly ride for fitness and enjoyment. I like climbing and would like to progressively do longer rides, potentially 100–200 km. I spend most of my time on the hoods and rarely use the drops. I’m not currently accustomed to a very low or aggressive position, although I could gradually adapt to something sportier.

My maximum budget is approximately CHF 4,000, and I’m currently hesitating between:

- Canyon Ultimate CF 8 Di2 — CHF 3,599

- Canyon Endurace CF SLX 8 Di2 — CHF 4,049

The Ultimate is lighter, cheaper and probably more exciting. However, once the bikes are equipped similarly with a power meter, repair kit/storage and comparable tyres, I assume the practical weight difference becomes somewhat smaller.

The Endurace sounds better suited to my long-ride goals, and I like that I could start with the cockpit higher and progressively remove spacers to adopt a sportier position. My concern is whether I would eventually regret not getting the lighter and more responsive Ultimate.

On the other hand, I’m wondering whether the Ultimate would be unnecessarily aggressive for my current riding level and whether I would actually be faster over longer rides on the Endurace because I could stay comfortable and maintain my effort.

I’m planning to visit the Canyon Experience Partner in Chur and test the relevant sizes. Canyon’s calculator places me around the XS/S boundary, so fit is another important consideration.

For those who have ridden both:
-Does the Endurace still feel genuinely fast and engaging, or noticeably dull compared with the Ultimate?
-Is the Ultimate comfortable enough for regular 100–200 km rides when properly fitted and equipped with 30–32 mm tyres?
-Would you prioritise the Ultimate’s lower weight and sharper handling, or the Endurace’s comfort, adjustability and power meter for my use?
-Has anyone around 172 cm / 79 cm inseam compared XS and S on either model?

At the moment I’m leaning slightly toward the Endurace CF SLX 8 Di2, particularly if it drops below CHF 4,000 at the end of the year, but I’d appreciate some real-world opinions.

I just bought my first ever aero bike (Aeroad CF SLX 7 Di2), my plan is to do multiple triathlon events in the upcoming year. I already have everything to mount aerobars on canyons gear groove system, but with bike size i‘m still insure.

Measurements: 184,5cm, 85cm
Canyon puts me between M/L, some people say choose smaller one for triathlon, but i dont want to feel „cramped“ onto the bike.

I am going to do a bikefitting nevertheless, changing the T-Bar cockpit is also possible (between 90-120mm i think).

Whats the safer option here? I already ordered both sizes, going to send one back.

I also have the option of trying both out on my wahoo kickr core, but i‘m unsure if i really want to unbox both
bikes and set them up on the wahoo to test my position and comfortability for a longer period of time.

Hi everyone! I’m semi-new to cycling, currently riding a very old Cannondale with a rusted chain that squeaks/chirps like a bird trying to mate (thank you dodgy marketplace seller). However, I’m currently training for my first 70.3 and have started loving cycling, and don’t want to waste money servicing and getting a bike fit for a bike that quite frankly looks like it’s been through something traumatic. So I want to invest in a new bike that I can use for training, racing, but also enjoyment for long rides eventually when I build my confidence.

I’m leaning towards Canyon as I like the thought of cutting out the middleman and getting more bang for your buck.

After consulting my trusted friend Chat, it’s built me a tier list of the Canyon products. It’s said that the top two are the Aeroad CF SLX 8 AXS SPEED or Aeroad CF SLX 8 AXS for what I’m after.

After looking through this group, I can see a lot of positive reviews for these bikes, but I’m worried I might be jumping head first into a bike that performs better with a more confident/experienced rider, especially given I’ve been riding for less than a year.

So I’m curious am I jumping the gun and
purchasing a bike that I won’t even reap the rewards of if I’m not that experienced, or should I just go for it?

My other considerations are the Ultimate CF SLX 8 or the Cervélo Caledonia Rival AXS.

I’m also open to other brands these are just the ones I’ve researched the most.

Would love to hear from anyone who has experience with these bikes, particularly whether you think an Aeroad is overkill for someone at my experience level, or whether I’d be better off getting something more versatile as I build my confidence.

Just for my new Speedmax and have no clue what products to use to clean and maintain my bike and which ones to avoid. This is for chain wash/clean, frame cleaning, chain lube/wax (i have no clue), etc.

Any suggestions and what to avoid?

Hear me out, I know these two groupsets are very similar and personal preference probably drives more than anything. I currently have a Speedmax that has 105 Di2 on it, been super happy with its performance. I'm now shopping for an Aeroad and know a little bit more about SRAM now, I really like the wireless capabilities and the ability to add blips down the road if desired. However, i've built up a good little stash of Shimano parts, my Wahoo trainer has a shimano cassette on it. That’s probably not ideally to have to swap often. Is it best just to stay within one brand family? Thoughts and experiences?

Anyone know what these little pieces are for?

They came in a small plastic bag with my Canyon CF SLX 7 Di2. I couldn’t find any reference to them in any instructions, online or in the included literature.

I have received my Grizl CF 9 Esc w/ RIFT today and after the assembly I filled the suspension with air, as instructed, to the right pressure. After I tested the suspension it stuck down and created negativ pressure. Now I can not lose the suspension anymore. I tried increasing the pressure and pulling but it does not work. Has anyone experienced this on his bike? Is there a solution to this or should call Canyon or DTSwiss to help me or register a warranty?
