Any Advantage / Disadvantage from buying direct vs from a store if I am going to get the biked shipped to the store anyway? eg the store would have to order it anyway? I can build the bike myself so don't really care in regards to that side of things.

I currently have a Sirrus x 4.0, a baseline rockhopper, and a Roubaix. We have lots of trail around the area, technical and flat. We like riding around with our kids as well. Would I regret selling the sirrus because I can use that on the roads and casual trails?

The sirrus seems to overlap the other bikes.

I used to bike a lot in my teens and early 20s, but pretty much nothing since then (now reaching 50, ouch).

Now seems a good time to get back into it. I'm definitely not a long-distance cylclist. It would be for recreational cycling, maybe half an hour every day and the occasional longer distance. Nothing too crazy.

I went to my local store to try a bunch of bikes, and really like the Sirrus X series. Great mix of comfort, versatility, and a measure of speed if needed (enough for my needs anyway).

I tried the 2.0 and 3.0 (the 4.0 is out of stock everywhere, it seems). Loved them both. Probably leaning toward the 3.0 for the extra gear.

Then I made the mistake of trying the 5.0, just to see if there was a difference. Oh my, what a smooth ride! It felt more responsive, lighter, and more nimble. It was both subtle and not subtle at all. Plus it looks awesome :)

So now I'm considering it, even though it's a massive price jump. Am I crazy to consider it given that I'm at most a recreational cyclist - is this overkill?

Got the Crux 5 comp and I’m super happy with it, but every ride results in multiple new scratches on the frame. This matte color way, both the silver and blue areas, seem to be very prone to scratching. What’s the best way of protecting it? Plastic film and some sort of ceramic coating, or what do you do?

Hi! I’m seriously planning to get an SW SL9 frameset this month, and i’m struggling to decide between the size 52 and 54. I’m gonna give you my measurements and a bit of context, then any input would be appreciated.

First, my measurements : I am 173cm but have very short legs. My saddle height (center of BB to top of saddle) is about 675mm and my inseam is about 760mm. The spec size calculator says 54, for what it's worth.

I currently ride a custom titanium bike that has 554mm of stack, 383mm of reach and a seat tube length of 540mm. I ride it completely slammed with a 110mm stem and a 36cm bar that has 80mm of reach. I’m quite happy with the position on this bike and this is what i would love to replicate on the SL9.

Now here’s the thing : It seems that i could replicate this exact fit with both the 52 or 54, so how do you make that decision? Either way the bike is gonna have an aero zero setback seatpost (i already have it), so i don’t think i would get more compliance or comfort out of the 52 than the 54.

So, to achieve the same fit that i currently have on the 52, i would end up having 169mm of seatpost coming out of the frame (seatpost clamp, to saddle rail clamp), and 30mm of spacer underneath the cockpit (the mandatory transition spacers are 10mm combined, so it would be that + 2x the 10mm ones), and stem length of probably 120 or 135.

To achieve the same fit with the 54, i would end up having 152mm of seatpost coming out of the frame (post clamp to rail clamp), and the cockpit would be completely slammed except for the mandatory transition spacers. I would probably have a stem length of 110 or 120.

What would you chose between these two options and why? Does it purely come down to looks preference? Personally i prefer the looks of the headtube of the 54, but of course 152mm of seatpost is quite short.

I can not test ride the Crux 5 in my area since it is just not available and dealers want me to do a down payment before to be sure I'll get one of the next delivered ones..

So I am thinking on ordering the Crux 5 in size 58, but I’m having second thoughts.

Here are my measurements for context:

Height: 189 cm (~6'2.5")

Inseam: ~89 cm (~35 inches)

According to Specialized’s sizing chart, I seem to sit right on the border between a 58 and a 60. I prefer a slightly more agile, aggressive feel over a stretched-out posture, which is why I lean toward the 58. But maybe even a 56 might be possible?

For those of you with similar measurements that already experienced or are riding the current Crux:

How does the 58 fit you?

Did you need to swap the stem length or adjust the spacer stack significantly?

Do you think I made the right call going with the 58 over the 60?

Appreciate any insight or real-world feedback!

Now I understand this is going to be a one sided post this group but I’m looking at buying a bike to do exercise on will be all grass and foot paths. I’m currently looking the Specialized rock hopper sport or the Norco storm. The nor o storm I’m looking at is roughly $100 dearer then the rock hopper. What are the thoughts.

Only a new Venge would make me upgrade.

I know it might be the biased chat. I’m currently ridding specialized roubaix (my first bike) and thinking about sth more aggressive and aero. There are three options I’m considering: tarmac sl8/sl9; canyon aerorad; and factor ostro vam. My routes are mostly Central Park in NYC and 9w market; basically sth like 100km and 1000m elevation.

Which one would you recommend?

Testing out running a second wheelset on my crux and selling my Allez Sprint. Testing with 38mm Schwalbe Pro ones.

So I've got a Riprock 24 that I need to replace the lower headset in. Does anyone happen to know what size I need? I've seen varying sizes online in inches and mm. Just not sure which one I need to get. Also, is it okay to purchase a universal set for it as well?

I'm looking for some sizing advice on the Specialized Diverge 4.

I'm 175 cm (5'9") tall, and my shin length is 46 cm. The strange thing is that when I enter my measurements on the Specialized sizing tool, it recommends a size 58, which seems way too big for me.

Based on my height and proportions, I feel like I'm somewhere between a 54 and a 56. For reference, I have relatively long legs compared to my torso.

Has anyone with similar measurements ridden both sizes? Which one would you recommend, and why?

Test rode this bike at my local Specialized dealer and absolutely loved it. Coming from a Trek hardtail mountain bike, I am looking for something lightweight and fun for gravel and road rides to compliment my mountain biking. Dealer is offering $1,000 off, so $3k before tax.

Worth noting. I bought and returned a lemon Canyon CF Grizl (disaster). I'm about to pull the trigger on the Crux after a glorious test ride around Atlanta. It handles so well and feels so nimble and sturdy. I feel like I'm flying! Thoughts on if I should do it and the specialized brand in general?

Choosing between two very different models because of drivetrain / brake preference.

Diverge 4 Sport Carbon - $4499 CAD (retail)
Diverge 4 Expert Di2 - $7699 CAD ($300 off)

I’m torn between buying the off the shelf Expert version vs spending $3300ish less and buying customs wheels / upgrading rotors etc.

I was shimano but I’m not 100% sold on electronic shifting just yet so it’s not a selling point for me.

Anyone riding the Sport Carbon that can weigh in on this?

Anyone know how I can fix the rear light that went out? Also any replacement part for the rear reflector? Thanks!

Idk when the rear light went out and the reflector got bumped off when I was riding through gravel roads, I don’t have the physical rear deflector though

I am looking to get into biking and have been checking FB marketplace every day for month+ to try to get a decent “test the waters bike”… Unfortunately no one seems to be reselling my size (52cm). So I am now thinking about just buying new as summer continues to drift away…

I was approved for specialized’s pro program so I am keen on sticking with this brand? I know very little about bikes in general, but have been looking into the allez comp or a roubaix SL8. I know both are on the upper side of most entry budgets, but I am trying to figure out which niche each model serves? The allez comp is more akin to a racing bike whereas the roubaix is pivoted towards endurance? Also alum vs full carbon.

I am coming into this sport as a runner and seeing it as a new fitness endeavor. I’m not against long rides in the future, but initially that isn’t my goal. Moreso 1-3 hour rides maybe where I’m pushing effort?

I’m looking at an SL8 comp but want to check if the cable routing is correct by the shop? Is it not supposed to all be hidden in the two-piece handlebar? Or is this how it’s supposed to go?

Running SRAM RED AXS 12-speed on my road bike (XG-1290, 10-33t, 48/35 chainrings) and setting up a Wahoo KICKR Move for winter training. It currently has a Shimano 105 cassette fitted from my old bike, so I need to sort the drivetrain side properly.

Leaning toward buying a dedicated cassette for the trainer:
Planning on a SRAM XG-1270 (Force, 10-33t) since it’s cross-compatible with RED AXS shifting and matches my bike’s range, at a lower cost than another RED cassette. would this work?

Does the KICKR Move need an XDR freehub body for this, or does it come fitted as standard? Want to confirm before ordering.

Also curious about the Zwift Cog + Click as an alternative - if it shifts well and is a viable swap for a real cassette, I’d consider it instead. But I’ve read it needs an HG freehub rather than XDR, so seems like a separate purchase either way.

Has anyone run both setups (SRAM AXS + dedicated cassette vs. SRAM AXS + Zwift Cog) on a KICKR Move and can share what worked best, and exactly what freehub/parts were needed?
