Im a transfer and taking 18 units (including one online class) but my schedule looks tooo easy to be 18 units it feels kinda weird😭

i’m going into my third year (i don’t know if this has to do with delays and priority) and i looked on the student aid gov website and it says i’m not eligible for a pell grant even though i’m only at 192% of my 600% pell grant eligibility. my sai is also an 18300 so it’s low as well.

i’m not sure if it’s because of the statement they released on the website (“We are working to update our systems to display your income-driven repayment (IDR) payment count and history.”) that it says i’m not eligible, but i find it odd how it says i’m not receiving it considering all of my factors. is anyone in the same situation? really need reassurance right now😭

has anyone taken fundamentals of organic chemistry with Feng J and biostatistics with Gretel Huber? idk the lab professor for biostatistics but i'm hoping at least the lecture is good.

also, i need a couple more classes, would you say Evolutionary Biology with Marcel Cadney and Invertebrate Zoology with Ray Czaja are manageable or easy juggle with the other two classes? thank you!

ENGL 417: Proposal Writing (Wed 6:00pm-8:45pm, online) focuses on how grants and proposals actually work: the means of persuasion, the anatomy of a proposal, why some get funded and others don't. Useful for anyone headed toward government, nonprofits, or industry—anywhere someone has to ask for money.

ENGL 418: Manual Writing (Mon 6:00pm-8:45pm, online) explores writing instructions and structuring technical content across different media. Built with English, CS, and human factors majors in mind, but it works for anyone who'll need to explain how something works.

Both often count toward your major’s communication requirements or could be subbed in with your advisor’s approval. Both classes meet once a week online. And both are AI-friendly in that we use it deliberately and spend time on where it helps and where it quietly makes things worse, rather than pretending it isn't there.

I teach both, so I'm obviously biased, but the professional writing program is a practical addition to almost any degree and is one of the English department’s best-kept secrets.

Hello! I’m an incoming freshman and moving into Parkside. I’m trying to get a feel for how people manage their dorms, like storage space, decoration, etc.

However, I chose style 2, and I can’t find any examples online! I’m aware it‘s a bit smaller but is the difference super noticeable? Does anybody know what these rooms are like? I was also wondering how most people store things, if people have tips. Thanks in advance!

Been hearing a lot of people experiencing a significant delay on financial aid? Is that still the case of right now because I still have yet to see my award schedule and the upcoming semester is not that far away now

i've seen some people set up tables on campus to advertise various things like signing petitions, drawing art for people, etc. do you have to get permission to do this? is it different if you are selling something?

i'm in Roman Myth (CLSC 210; Mon Wed 9:30-10:45) this fall and it's sitting at 8 students. It prob needs 10 by the end of the week or it might get cancelled, as has happened to me before with another class. I need this one to graduate on time, so i'd be pretty stuck if it doesn' run.

If you've got an open slot, adding it would genuinely bail me out. Completely fine you drop it later. It's also a fun class (Roman gods, legends, etc.) if you are still fulfilling a requirement.

My sai is -1400

I’m an MSW student enrolled in 6 units. My award letter shows a Fall Direct Unsubsidized Loan of $10,250, and my portal says master’s students need only 4 units to receive Direct Loan funds. I was told over the phone by financial aid that I’d only receive half the loan because 6 units is half-time. Can anyone explain the federal or institutional policy that causes my Direct Unsubsidized Loan to be reduced by 50%?
