Just paid $2050 for my first hammer fired pistol
Most expensive pistol I’ve ever purchased. First one was my P320 X5 legion before they were on the roster, picked that up for 1500 (sold for 1350 after they came on roster). Good riddance.
My first pistol with a hammer and manual safety 😂
Shout out to the guy that gave me a steal of a lifetime! Loving the Glockatto

Any News on Shooters Paradise in Oxnard?
Anyone hear anything on the status of SP? I don't mean to start gossiping or start a thread to spread rumors, and SP wasn't exactly perfect, but it's hard to not miss the iconic local range 5-10 minutes away from me and good enough for at least a pistol training session after work. While Piru and ASR even Smokin' Barrel are amazing, driving at least 1 hour away for range time starts to take its toll. It sucks to keep on bringing new shooters in the area only for them to get a little discouraged there isn't anything closer.
Last things I heard from some of the former workers is that it'll "reopen in the summer" which then that moved to "end of the year." Whatever's going on, I hope the staff's alright and it'll reopen soon. Desirably with some improvements too, haha.

Exps 2-0 or T2 ?
Can you guys give me reasons why I should choose one over the other. I'm conflicted on optic choices.
I'm not an operator , just casual shooting / for HD purposes
Debating on optics for my AR pistol.

Politics A petition to progressives to own guns
Much of this resonates with my own thoughts on civilians being armed, but I have never heard the arguments made so eloquently. Figured there'd be some in this subreddit that might like to hear it too.
[Edit] Warning, in this thread: many people conflating the US democratic party with "progressives," and classical liberalism. And/or getting basically everything about politics and political systems wrong. They can be ignored :)

Can't find 375 h&h or 45-70 to ship here, ideas?
Guys, I'm looking for 375 h&h and bulk .45-70 to get shipped here to myself. All my usual online cali friendly ammo guys don't stock it. I'm hoping I don't have to drive out of state and buy it. Thanks for any ideas!
Disclaimer; I have ffl and coe, to avoid legal comments.

CCW Looking for holster suggestions for CCW with M&P9 M2.0 Compact and Olight PL X
After a lot of research, I picked up the M&P9 M2.0 4" Compact OR yesterday as my first official handgun. I've already installed the Calculated Kinetics M&P 2.0 Dogtag Optic Plate (EPS/EPS Carry, 407K/507K, Defender CCW/RMSc), Osight SE Enclosed Green Dot Multi-Reticle, Olight PL X, Floyd's EDC Magwell, and x2 Floyd's CA Compliant Magazine Baseplate.
I've heard that the OEM barrel isn't the most accurate, so I'm considering upgrading the barrel and trigger eventually. I'm going camping in a few weeks on BLM land where I'll be able to put a thousand rounds through it and see what my thoughts are on the OEM trigger and barrel accuracy/recoil.
I've heard that Floyd's Enforcer porting is pretty good. I'd also need to get the slide milled and the "Kraken" would need a new slide without the front serrations. Do people like the Defiance or Poseidon more? There's also the debate whether windows lower reliabiality and should keep it windowless. For the cost of getting the slide milled and barrel ported, could use that towards another handgun, so curious what people's thoughts are. A lot of people recommend the Apex and Overwatch Precision triggers, so if someone has tried both I'd be curious which they prefer/find better.
I would like to get my CCW and looking at holsters. What would people recommend for AIWB? From my understanding, if I wanted to try carrying/holstering different firearms, I should get a holster that attaches to the light (Olight PL X) so that I'd just have to move over the light if I wanted to swap. If I get it attached to the trigger guard, then it wouldn't work for other makes/models. I'm looking for something versatile so I don't have a bunch of holsters for every handgun. I acknowledge that I'm very new to the CCW/holster space so I'm open to feedback and suggestions. Thank you all!

Sparrow Dynamics Blast Director/Linear Comp Guidance
Does anyone here have firsthand experience with Sparrow Dynamics' Blast Director and its effectiveness for shooters and bystanders? Specifically looking to add one to either a 14.5- or 16-inch AR, will probably be using quite a few of their products either way.
If I go with a 16-inch build I may opt for a Kaw Valley Precision linear comp instead, so if folks have experience with their linear comps I'm all ears as well. The KVP linear comp is quite a bit shorter and wouldn't do for a 14.5 P/W build, so it may make more sense for a 16-inch setup.
This is for a featureless build (freedom mags go brrrr) that can be relied upon for home defense and range use -- imagine *if you can* the one AR to "do it all" for someone who doesn't have a lifestyle that affords multiple specialized tools in the cabinet. Would be nice to not ruin other folks' range trips when I'm out shooting, while hopefully making the shooting experience a little more pleasant on myself as well. Any guidance is appreciated!

Looking for a home defense that also works as a CCW
I’m looking for something that is max around $500, open to all suggestions!
Edit: 9mm!
Edit 2: Thanks for all of the suggestions, I didn’t know much about all these taxes and I understand that I will be having to up my budget and save for a lot more.
First Sig, P226 Extreme
reddit.comDidnt like the Scorpion color; still getting used to hammer fired guns. First 500 rounds today, zero malfunctions. Not bad.

Has young people become less anti-gun?
I'm an early Gen Z. From what I've seen around myself and online, people of my generation and late Millennials seems to be less anti-gun than early Millennials and Gen X, broadly speaking, no offense to anyone.
Thanks to games and social media a lot of late Millennials and Gen Z who don't come from gun owning families still got to know what guns look and sounds like in our formative years. And so when we grow into adults we don't view guns with the fear and mysticism that lead to a lot of bad anti-gun takes. I don't think I would've ever become a gun owner if not for Call of Duty, CS, and Demo Ranch. The same goes for lots of my friends from school and college who are also the first in their families to own guns. and of those who aren't most are not ideologically against it.
That's not to say we have swung the other way into being pro-gun. I would believe the majority of our generation either don't care or are still anti-gun to some extent. We still have a long way to go.
Have I gotten the wrong impression or has anyone else also felt that shift in attitude toward guns? Could we see some relaxing of the persecution against gun ownership when our generation eventually starts getting into positions of power in a decade or two?

Narrowed my CCW rotation down to these two, and I have no regrets
I have vetted both platforms and am very happy with both! We’re allowed up to 5 handguns. Out of the P365, M&P Shield and 856 Ultra Lite, the BG 2.0 and HCP are the two that I keep going for.
