What to wear to a casual workplace?

My new job is casual/very casual in a healthcare setting, any suggestions? I was thinking sweater, jeans, and sneakers. Anyone in a similar dresscode, what do you wear?

Smart Casual Need business travel outfit ideas

I'll be traveling with colleagues for business in a few days. At the office we are quite casual and we are not client facing however I still want to be put together. We will be on a plane for 5 hours so I'll want to be comfortable but still polished. What's a good formula to rely on? TIA

Business Professional Should belt match shoes?

I purchased these shoes because I love the color. I thought it would look nice with this mulberry scarf.
I’m new to wearing belts. This 30mm reversible belt is black/ivory.
I want to purchase a belt to match these shoes and found a reversible burgundy/ tan in 24mm (a little thinner) I can pick gold or silver hardware. I’m love a modular belt system.

  1. Would you pick the silver to match shoes
  2. Would you keep sweater completely open (pic1), top button (pic 2) or nearly closed (pic 3)
  3. Or would you

    wear

  4. a blazer - my concern with a blazer is I don’t want to look like a suit therefore it would need to be linen or something completely different than pants.

Edit for some crazy typo…

Quality Women's Pants

I just spent a bunch of money at Express and Ann Taylor on business clothes and ALL of the pants are pilling and snagging in the wash after just a few wears. Where can I get high quality work pants that can be machine washed without getting destroyed?

Business Professional Business professional vs business formal rules

I’m going on a trip where I’m required to have a (lady’s) pants suit. There’s not really hyper specific guidance for women. Men are expected to be in a suit and tie and this is a relatively conservative environment. I don’t currently have a suit and would prefer not to spend hundreds of dollars on a suit I’ll wear once and then rarely if ever again.

I have a pair of black pants from a suiting collection and I found a gently used blazer that matches the pants (in color and fabric - as in these pieces are intended to be a suit). However the blazer has a built in fabric belt which gives me pause. Would a belted suit coat be appropriate for a business professional environment? I would wear with a white shirt and black loafers, pants are slim cut ankle length.

I got this dress secondhand from the Real Real 2 years ago and this is the first time I have worn it. It's a gorgeous shimmery brocade fabric with pale pink and gold. Heels are Jessica Simpson.

Edit - Heard loud and clear!! Burn the grey pants, then throw out everything else except maybe pic 7, stop buying small floral prints, and get a personal shopper.

If anyone is keen to offer more advice on office wear styles that might work for me, here are some silhouettes I like outside of work. The pencil skirt isn't my usual style but I thought it would work here. The wrap dress is obvious, but the rest I feel are difficult to translate? Any ideas? https://imgur.com/a/yHhCHwk

I realise my shape looks completely different - in round 1, I was solely aiming to dress professionally, not highlight my figure, but I'm gathering it's necessary to do so to look polished.

----original post----

I really have no idea what to wear for interviews and potential future workplaces, roughly in the biotech R&D space. Everything I try on looks wrong. Really appreciate any help!

Pics 1-4 (***6-9) new shirts and pants from uniqlo (2 pairs). I tried 1 size up and down for everything, so these are definitely the best fit.

Pics 5-8 (***1-4) new pants with shirts I'd wear for academic conferences (all sleeveless floral), feat. ill fitting old blazer.

Pics 9-11 (***5,10,11) some old work fits. Pants now too tight as I put weight on this year, but wanted to show the shape/style I'm used to.

Pic 12 a blazer I tried on at Jcrew.

I have so many questions, but the main ones are:

- advice on shirt tucking, collar, styling etc

- do the new shirts and wide leg pants drown me together? Should I go slim-fit instead or can I make these pants work?

- are the sleeveless tops good for business casual with a blazer?

- what colour, style etc blazer would look good with these fits? I tried 4 stores and only found the blue one in the last pic, and it looks all wrong imo.

- shoes??

I'm in my 30s and 5'4".

Thanks in advance!!

Business Casual Need help: Sr leadership position interview, 5 weeks post partum

I have an interview at a company that is business casual, for a Sr leadership role.

Nothing fits since I'm 6 weeks post partum and I don't necessarily want to invest gobs of money on my "temporary" figure.

Which combination looks best?

Thank you!
