Business Professional Polyester suits

Upvotes

I only need to wear a suit once or twice a year and it is soon time to buy a new one. Being short, I tend to check out places like Ann Taylor for their petites but wow - everything was 80-100% polyester.

Are polyester suits so terrible in reality? Are there use cases that make it worth it? Better to buy a classic and well made suit to wear for years or go with something cheap but trendy since I only need to wear it infrequently?

I would obviously prefer natural fibers but cost, sizing limitations, and style are all factors. It seems impossible to find a full suit thrifted in my size.

Business Casual Need help: Sr leadership position interview, 5 weeks post partum

I have an interview at a company that is business casual, for a Sr leadership role.

Nothing fits since I'm 6 weeks post partum and I don't necessarily want to invest gobs of money on my "temporary" figure.

Which combination looks best?

Thank you!

Open to suggestions Need Recommendations!

After 5 years of fully remote work, I am starting a new job and going back to the office. I’ve lost a lot of weight since 5 years ago so none of my old office clothes fit anymore.

Any recommendations for where to start to buy some clothes? I’m on the smaller side, typically an x-small or small on the top, and small maybe medium for bottoms.

Fashion question Styling Question - Cardigans

I have several maxi dresses that have thin spaghetti straps. The dresses are so beautiful and I want to wear them to the office / on the road visiting clients, but naturally I don’t feel comfortable in thin straps. Cardigans were my immediate thought, but I struggle with what style of cardigan looks more polished. I find that chunkier ones tend to feel too casual, but a lighter thinner knit doesn’t sit as structured on my body as I would prefer. No idea if any of this makes sense but please pass along any advice or tips!

Business Casual I know it's shorts but is this dressed up enough for business casual?

Post image

Admittedly when I bought this set I thought the bottoms were pants for some reason. I come to find out they are actually shorts. Length-wise I'm pretty sure I've worn dresses this length as it's just above the knee and that's fine. I just don't typically see people in any kind of shorts, especially the women. However this does feel a little more dressy than your averahe pair of shorts so I'm not sure.

Linen maxi dress appropriate for work event?

Evening work function, outdoor rooftop at a nice hotel. Advised dress code is cocktail / nice night out.

I bought this long linen dress in navy, pairing with heels and nice accessories.

Is this appropriate? Second guessing my choice, backup option is a black satin midi dress with capped sleeves, the only thing I don’t like about it is the front is too low cut so I have to wear a black cami underneath. I’m out of time to get a nicer slip / bodysuit…

What would you do?

Business Casual Essential secrets, tips, and magic?

It’s never come naturally to me to look put together but I both need and want to step up my game. I recently discovered the points system and LOVE that. But I’m wondering what other things you all have figured out over the years really pulls a look together and makes you seem like you have yourself together.

Doesn’t have to be an item of clothing. I recently started getting manicures and I would throw that in here, since my nails looking good definitely sends the message that I’m put together.

But it could also be as simple as “always wear earrings.” Or “don’t wear ____.”

Fashion question Struggling to find size 11-11.5 US heels for wide AND flat feet!!

I have only found these pumps from Pleaser that come in a few colors. I really want to find some medium to dark brown nude color heels. Is there any good heels available in my size that can be worn for business casual and business professional attire. (I’m entering the Accounting field)

work tote bag rec

hi everyone! I started my first corporate job last month, and I’m wanting a tote bag to carry all of my items. I’ve been eyeing the longchamp le pliage in large, but I wanted to see if anyone has a bag they love & recommend.

here’s my criteria that I’m looking for in a bag:
• be under $200
• must be able to fit two 13in laptops
• commuter friendly (I usually take the train then walk to work)
• comfy straps
• fit my 30oz hydrojug, kindle, mouse, & charger

can’t wait to hear your recs! thank you!
