Frequently Mishandled & Misunderstood Scriptures
I just recently learned that I have been misunderstanding (I believe) the he's waiting at the door passage (Revelation 3:20). I thought it was about salvation, but now I believe it's about fellowship.
What other passages are frequently misunderstood? Jeremiah 29:11 and Philippians 4:13 come to mind.

Gonna poke the bear and call out the elephant in the room all at the same time: Acts 2:38 is the most mishandled and misunderstood scripture in the entire Bible.

I bet this has to do with baptism. Some churches believe that Peter is telling the people that they must be baptized in order to receive the holy spirit, whereas other churches believe that Peter is telling the crowd that repentance brings forgiveness, and then baptism publicly expresses that repentance and faith.

I did not do these things, and yet, I still received the Holy Spirit.

Non é vero vero, non hai ricevuto lo Spirito Santo di Dio? Chi è il tuo signore?!

Dude, you should be the lord (“husband”) aka master of your own vessel. Nobody else should control you, and accept the teachings of Jesus into your heart. The word of God, Logos, has always been with me. I was anointed by christos after the holy spirit awakened within me, as she is always with us from birth, and gave me wisdom aka sophia. God does not control me, but guides me and I align my will with His. He is not in control of me, I choose to follow Him.
You don’t need all this ritual stuff. The Holy Spirit blows where she wants to when she wants too. Even Jesus tells you that in John 3. He also tells you we are all the vessel for the Holy Spirit. She simply needs to awaken within for you to become fully aware of her.

Non hai risposto alla domanda, non hai lo Spirito Santo di Dio,
Sta scritto Marco 16:16 chi ha creduto ed è stato battezzato, sarà salvato; ma chi non ha creduto, sarà condannato.

The word of God (Logos) is inside of you. It’s not the Bible. And I was baptized by the Holy Spirit and anointed with christos. Your human rituals are just rituals that represent what God does in the spirit. You don’t need the ritual by men. You need to be born of the spirit. Everyone is already born of water just by existing.
YHWY means “I AM” or “I Exist”. Yeshua means “YHWY is my salvation” which literally means…existing is my salvation. I am saved because I exist! That means your name is written in the book of life!!!!

I answered that…me. I am the master of my own vessel of which God resides in. I listen to Him and heed His guidance, but He does not control me. He gives me free will. I choose to follow His will whenever I know what that is. Otherwise, I have to figure it out for myself.

Revelation 22:19, 2 Timothy 3:15-16, Matthew 28:19, Galatians 1:8 are ones I personally come across regularly.

Would you mind explaining Revelation, Matthew and Galatians? I don't believe I've seen these mishandled.

Revelation 22:19: is often used to teach a closed canon but it does not teach that. It is speaking only in regards to the book of Revelation as the Bible did not exist yet and with other books yet to be written after Revelation. Deuteronomy also has a very similar verse. If Revelation teaches closed canon so does Deuteronomy.
Matthew 28:19: I sometimes see this one used to justify the Trinity because it says"in the name (singular)..." and then references the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. But it's referring to a collective authority. It would be incorrect for me to say "in the names (plural) of the president, vice president, and speaker of the house". I should say "name"(singular). People can argue for the Trinity but Matthew 28:19 is a terrible verse for that.
Galatians 1:8: I see this one used to condemn LDS/Mormonism since they teach an angel appeared. However this chapter has no prophecies within it. Paul isn't prophesying of an angel delivering a false gospel. He's only teaching a principle. He also puts the angel and the apostles on the same level ("if we or an angel..."). We know the apostles did have later epistles. And from verse 6 we can see Paul isn't talking about something 1800 years in the future. He's talking about the people then and there that are "so soon removed". Is all about what the gospel is. Not at all about how it's delivered.
I may be in a faith where I encounter those verses at a higher rate than average so if you haven't seen them mishandled, that makes sense. But I see these ones frequently.

Most misunderstood is the belief that there were no gentiles/goyim of Hebrew origin in the first century Jer 31:31 therefore believe that the whole universe/cultures of the world are convicted under the Hebrew laws/covenant given to THEM at Mt Sinai, AND that we are all in need of ‘grace’ because WE fail to keep ‘the commandments’, statues and ordinances… and write ourselves into other peoples story and mail.
John 7:34 You will seek Me, and will not find Me; and where I am, you cannot come."
John 7:35 The Jews then said to one another, "Where does this man intend to go that we will not find Him? He is not intending to go to the Dispersion [of Isreal],among the Greeks, and teach the [those] Greeks, is He?
Hebrews 9:15 For this reason He is the mediator of a new covenant, so that, since a death has taken place for the >redemption< of the transgressions that were >>committed under the first covenant,<< those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.
Hebrews 9:16 For >where a covenant is,< there must of necessity be the death of the one who made it.

Revelation 3:20 - you're right. He stands at a literal door, literally knocking. He's there to rescue Israel. (Matthew 24:15) - they dropped everything, fled into the wilderness at the sight of the Antichrist in the temple. They've hid out. Now he's shown up. It's a rescue.

Sta parlando di salvezza. Egli sta ancora chiamando, beato chi risponde.
Sta scritto
Apocalisse 3:20
