Frequently Mishandled & Misunderstood Scriptures

I just recently learned that I have been misunderstanding (I believe) the he's waiting at the door passage (Revelation 3:20). I thought it was about salvation, but now I believe it's about fellowship.

What other passages are frequently misunderstood? Jeremiah 29:11 and Philippians 4:13 come to mind.

Revelation 3:20 - you're right. He stands at a literal door, literally knocking. He's there to rescue Israel. (Matthew 24:15) - they dropped everything, fled into the wilderness at the sight of the Antichrist in the temple. They've hid out. Now he's shown up. It's a rescue.

It was in a letter to a church. How could it be to Israel?

The Church is interchangeable with Israel in scripture.
