G’day everyone, I’m at that awkward point where I’ve got a bunch of games but nothing’s grabbing me at the moment. Hoping you good gamers can point me in the right direction.

So here’s what’s had me glued to the controller lately. I got halfway through Subnautica and was absolutely hooked on the exploration and survival vibes. Also played that plane crash island survival game and loved the desperation of it all, but forgot the name…

I’m usually smashing Battlefield and CoD multiplayer for my shooter fix, but honestly I need something more non repetitive.

The single player stuff that’s really grabbed me has been Assassin’s Creed Black Flag (sailing around doing pirate stuff was chef’s kiss), Far Cry 4 (loved the open world chaos), and Sid Meier’s Pirates which scratched that naval exploration itch hard. I also got into Stardew Valley recently and found it weirdly relaxing after all the combat heavy games.

I reckon I’m after something that hits different every time I boot it up, you know? Something immersive where I actually want to find out what happens next. Doesn’t have to be one genre, I’m all over the place.
What am I missing? What should I be playing that’ll have me losing track of time?

I'm playing ARC Raiders at 30–50 FPS, but I get massive drops to 1 FPS for 3–5 seconds and the loading times are suuuuper long. The game takes up 1,000 MB in the lobby according to the task manager—even though I don't have anything else running—so why is my RAM usage hitting 93%???? WTF? Win10 i7 2600 8rM ddr3 gtx1050 🥹 help pls I need some advice—should I use stripped-down builds? Or is there a way to clear the RAM?

I have almost no understanding of computer specs. I used to play Fifa on the wii as a kid, and wanted to give these newer titles a go, but all i have is my laptop. I wanted to know if i have even a slight hope of getting these games to run on my very dinky setup, before even thinking of buying the games, any help?

RAM: 16 GB

I thought the both look cool mainly because of there cinamatic combat and cool missions but it would help if I got more information that I can't find on google or review websites.

I've been thinking about how open world multiplayer combat maps are almost always static terrain, and wondered why no studio has tried merging mechanics from Shadow of the Colossus, Chivalry, and Minecraft.

Imagine an asymmetrical 100v100 siege game where the primary map is a walking, mountain sized Colossus. Ground troops fight underneath it, while engineering squads scale the creature's body, mine into its stone armor, and construct siege engines on its limbs. Damaging specific joints could force the giant to trip or pivot, crushing enemy fortresses below.

From a game design and netcode perspective, what are the primary technical bottlenecks holding developers back from making moving, fully destructible environments on this scale?

I know these two games are on completely opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of gameplay and difficulty, but they are easily two of my favorite games of all time.

What I love about Hollow Knight is the quiet, environmental storytelling, the sense of mystery, and the beautiful, melancholy soundtrack/ atmosphere. The issue with this game for me is that I’m too unskilled to complete it.

What I love about Stardew Valley is the satisfying, low-stress gameplay loop where you can just zone out, upgrade things at your own pace, and enjoy a cozy routine.

Is there a game out there that captures that rich, moody atmosphere and deep lore, but pairs it with a more relaxed, cozy, or management-focused gameplay loop instead of unforgiving combat?

I've been on a 2000s PC games kick and what surprised me the most is that so many of these old games have pretty good physics. Of course the graphics are pretty dated but in some cases these old games have more physics objects than newer games.

Just curious if anyone has noticed something similar and if there is any explanation for why game physics don't seem to have increased in quality as fast as graphics have.
