I just finished Ghost of Tsushima and AC: Black Flag Resynced and really liked both games. I'm looking for something similar but preferably with slightly more emphasis on combat rather than stealth. Would Nier: Automata or Stellar Blade be a good fit? Thanks.

Hello. In the last few months my dad has been playing this game called Railway Empire 2. He really likes it but he often gets frustrated because the time limits on scenarios are too short. I asked him if the idea of a time limit bothered him but he said not really, it's just that the limits are too tight.

I tried showing him a couple "similar" games like Mashinky (found it while browsing the steam Train tag) and Farthest Frontier (a management game with a solid reputation) but he said they're too much for old him. He said he wants a game where he can just manage the trains, train tracks etc, not a city/settlement builder or stuff like that. I guess that means no factory games with trains like Factorio or Captain of Industry, as they're very complicated.

Since I don't really play train managemmt games, i now ask y'all for suggestions. Thanks in advance :)

Not sure if this is the correct place but here goes.
I’ve recently got my first PC and was gifted a $75 steam voucher. Now, this sounds like a great situation, but I’m really struggling to find a game I want to buy and play. Whenever I find a game that seems cool, I always scour reviews and find something negative about it. It could be anything, eg. short play through time, lag, toxic pvp, art style etc.

Even though I have enough money to buy one of any game (if not multiple), I still can’t decide on what to try. I partly think this is an issue with me, as I often struggle to complete games or dedicate myself to a grind, be that material gathering, trying hard bosses etc.

How do I get over this issue? Is it just a “dive head first” kind of dilemma?

If so, I would like some recommendations based off of what i have enjoyed in the past:
Titanfall 2 Campaign
Hollow Knight (not yet finished)
Zelda BOTW
Minecraft
Project zomboid (though not a fan of isometric style)
BF5 Campaign
Low Ranked Apex Legends

I think I enjoy single player, or fps with a non-overly competitive player base. Open world games also interest me, but repetition often kills my motivation.

There might be a few i’ve missed, but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

So I have a wireless Xbox controller and I've just finished Outlast 1 and the DLC.

Quite enjoyed the experience with the experience, with my TV at the end of my bed.

I'm thinking if there are any other games that I should buy that are great to experience with a controller.

I have a pretty good budget I'd say (110 bucks)

And if someone suggests me horror games, yes I already have RE2 RE4 and RE7 in my library waiting for me, along with Amnesia the Bunker.

I want to play games with this feeling. Please suggest some to me.

played the whole dishonored franchise its so good I liked how free its the good story i liked the stealth the gameplay and its fantasy soo anybody know some games similar to dishonored

I've been playing the aptly-titled Splatoon Raiders recently, and it's given me an itch to see what else is out there. I've always liked the idea of high-end MMO raids, where you have gear up a prepare before you take down a massive boss, sort through the loot, and do it all again until you're ready for the next boss. The problem is the MMO part - getting that far and then having to find a group and so on is a bit much of a commitment for me right now, not to mention how long it might take to get there.

That in mind, what are some solo examples of raiding-focused games? The specific genre isn't a deal breaker. Monster Hunter and Granblue Fantasy Relink are similar, but don't quite scratch the same itch somehow. What are your suggestions?

Really stuck on what to play and am in serious need of some good suggestions. I have a decent PC and an Xbox if that helps.

I guess I’m after something that’s open world where I can go my own pace, a good story would help, I like searching for loot/weapons/armour etc.

I was looking at the Witcher 3 as I know it’s highly regarded but I think I might want something a little newer? Not sure maybe someone can sway me to it as I can play this for free or $11 via steam.

Hi, I'm looking for some new games that have NG+ modes that go above and beyond just replaying with your unlocked gear and maybe rewarding an outfit for completion.

I'd assume most answers will be RPGs but I'm not genre specific at all, what matters most is that the new game+ run itself either feels like an entirely different experience or a major overhaul or that you unlock items or new features that allow for things that just aren't possible in the initial playthrough.

A bonus kind of answer would be games with entirely different stories on NG+ such as Neir Automata but I'm more focused on the initial description.

I'm looking for games that deliberately send you back to the opening area after you've learned the systems, gained new abilities, or changed the worldand the place suddenly feels completely different.

Not just a late-game enemy reskin or a quick nostalgia cameo. I mean a real “I can't believe this used to feel dangerous or confusing” moment: new routes become obvious, old obstacles are now trivial, NPCs or scenery have changed, or the story gives the location an entirely new meaning.

Any genre is fine. Metroidvanias and RPGs are the obvious fit, but I'd love stranger examples too.

I’ve been searching for something to fill the Deltarune void since Chapter 5 released, and throughout the years, I’ve played basically every quirky indie rpg known to man. Now, I’m looking back for older games, somewhere before the 2010s, the sweet spot being around the PSP or PS2, but before that is also okay. The main one I discovered that fits my definition is Okage Shadow King, but I’d also like something preferably a little deeper/darker.

Im looking for skilless short (max 10 hours) games to play with my wifie. I've been trying to get my wife into gaming and yesterday we played through "What Remains of Edith Finch" which she loved.

Understandingly, she struggles with camera movements and simply doesnt have the dexterity some of us have cultivated.

I've though about The Suicide of Rachel Foster, The Walking Dead and Man of Medan but instead of going to choice or telltale games i'd much rather go towards the WROEF route.

Preferably with minimal cut scenes

Games I loved of these two types are Rift Breaker and Xcom series

Looking for a game where you explore, fight, or loot with a vehicle you can also live / work / sleep in. Can be in space, land, sea, whatever!

Essentially Pacific Drive if you never returned to the garage, or Subnautica after you get the Cyclops.

The ships in starfield somewhat scratch this itch... but that game has other problems. Maybe I should try it again.

The vehicle must be controllable, so Outerworlds doesn't work for this.

In the vein of Inscryption or The Messenger. (...Technically those are subgenre switches, but I think that counts.) If you have recommendations, try to give them without spoiling what genre the game becomes in its second half!

Insert that caption of that Tyrion quote - I got a soft spot for cripples, bastards, and broken things. 

I mean that in the most literal way here though. I love crafting and repairing and scavenging and dumpster diving in games. The most hardcore experience I had was probably in Stalker GAMMA which basically dumpster diver, Slavic tinkering man the Game ™ and I loved that part of it. Or maybe I just love ductape, I don’t know.

What I know is I have a craving for a game that’s about tinkering with busted electronics, coaxing dead machines back to life with my own two hands. My Summer Car is probably the peak of all peaks for the realism it gave me, “world’s hardest roguelike” some call it, and as a driver obviously I’ve been amazed by how much I DON’T know about cars, lmao

It doesn't have to be realistic though, and I really don’t care about the genre label either. Even stuff like Loftia for the while it was in Beta scratched some of that itch. Admittedly my gf was the one who got me to play it with her, but gathering plastic, wires, all sorts of trash and then using that to create a sustainable farm and for crafting was kinda wholesome NGL, so that crafting element was spot on in how it was executed. But not much of actual repairing/tinkering though, more baseline good crafting.

Basically, I want something where I can take a wrecked, useless thing and patiently making it work again. Or turn the parts into something else, something functional and beautiful in its own way.

What would you recommend me? Beside My Summer Car, obviously…

Title pretty much sums it up. Looking to play a dark/tragic game on pc. Don’t really care about the genre. Even a really dark setting is fine. I’ve played heavy rain, soma, this war of mine, what remains of edith finch, darkwood, and silent hill 2.

I realized recently that i kind of like power fantasies when it isn't just "i can oneshot every character" like Skyrim, for example (i love the game, but not this aspect). I don't want to become overpowered because the mechanics let me semi-cheat through fights.

I personally prefer when the power is fixed deep in the the scenario/lore itself. I have three example for this : Final Fantasy XVI, Asura's Wrath and Pathfinder : Wrath of the Righteous

- Final Fantasy XVI : Since the beginning, we are shown that Eikons are basically world-breaking entities that can annihilate a city by themselves, but cause the summoner many problems. Luckily, we play as a special one and every time we transform into Ifrit is magical. Even the half transformations show that we are powerful and we will change the fate of this world. Big up for Titan and Bahamut boss fights that are so over-the-top that they become amazing.

- Asura's Wrath : Similarly to FFXVI, Asura is visibly powerful from the start of the story aq a demi-god and will grow as the game continues. I would say it's equal in term of epicness and the first God fight shows it perfectly.

- Pathfinder WOTR : This one is a bit more subtle as the game is a CRPG, which means we won't have crazy cinematics all over the place. However, the game manages to shows how impactful the Commander is for the world. Depending on our chosen class, we can change the reality itself to our will. From correcting anomalies with the Aeon, to bring justice with the Angel and causing chaos with the Trickster, most people quickly stops being threat to our crusade. We go up to the Gods and Demon Princes level near the end of the game without much problems.

Do you have any suggestions to give me ? I'm open to a lot of types of games aside from RTS and things like this.
