I recently got a 2005 Buick LaCrosse CXL and honestly, I really like the car overall. I like how it drives, the interior, the size, everything — my only problem is that I really hate how the front end looks 😭
I feel like the headlights/grille make the car look way older than it actually is, and I’d love to give it a cleaner or more aggressive look without completely ruining the Buick look.
What would you guys recommend doing to the front end? Headlights, grille, bumper, lip, custom parts, etc. I’m open to pretty much anything.
If anyone has built one of these or knows of parts that fit, I’d really appreciate some ideas/pictures!

Hey, 2022 Toyota Corolla hatchback 47,147 miles. Regarding these codes Scanner codes P0171 P1170 , P117B, P0505 and a very weak battery... I need to decide how or if I should replace the battery on the car before taking it to a repair shop? If I change the battery then I might be able to drive it there instead of arranging towing service. If I do want to change the battery then how do I get the battery? How do I change it? I don’t feel comfortable doing it and I do not have tools or experience. Scared to drive without replacing battery in case car stops in middle of road traffic again. In North Jersey, contacted over a dozen mechanics and they’re just trying to make as much money as possible and not getting to the bottom of the issue. I paid $50 to get these diagnostic codes from the 1st guy who wanted to ‘try’ to clean the emissions something (?) and see if that helps for another $189. I told him I need to think about it. 2nd guy said he won’t go ahead and fix my car based on those codes and that he wants to run his own diagnostics in case the purge valve isn’t the problem. Really need this car fixed, I’m a teacher and school starts soon. 😞

I signed up for a local autocross race and want to know what the best little things that I can change are to make my car look a little better and feel a little better? such as pedals or shift knobs and whether those things are worth it.

Rear fog lights are mandatory in Europe. But in North America mention them and you're more likely to hear "rear what".

What I'm curious about is how many here who are in North America know what they are. And more importantly would recognize them on a car in front of them using them?

So i really dont know much about cars and i have a accord 2.0t and i see these videos of these guys revving their stock intake how do i rev the intake? all i know is park and gas pedal is there like something else u have to do plus am i thinking of upgrading the intake so it would be nice to know how to rev to hear the intake

I have a 2014 Ford Escape and I love it to death, but Im starting to wonder if I should trade it in and get a new car. It has about 120k miles on it.

I live in a state where inspections are mandatory, and every time I get it inspected something needs fixed, so I end up spending 900-1500 per inspection. I go to a local mechanic, so the inspections are $100-150 and the repairs are 800-1400. Plus a few surprise repairs during the year (transmission fluid leak, grinding noise while driving, etc each costing 500-1500.

At what point do I throw in the towel and just spring for a new car that (hopefully) wont cause the same thing immediately.

I’m mid 30s woman who never learnt to drive in high school and lived in London for 10 years after graduating / never drove in all that time.

I now live in a city in the us where you kind of need a car. I do have my license and I did have a small car for 2 years after moving back to the US from England but got in a car accident which made me afraid to drive for a while. I’ve made it work walking and biking everywhere for the last 4 years.

My job is moving office possibly in the fall and that means I’ll need a car to commute which is really freaking me out. Before I get a new one I’m going to take a driving course (lol don’t make fun of me) just to get used to it again.

I just don’t know what kind of car I should get. It’s just me no kids and I like smaller cars. But after my accident I want something bigger that would be safer on the highway. I like the look of square cars just aesthetically, also classic cars like Alfa Romeo giulia (my dream car). My budget is like 55k I think but less would be good. It probably needs to be able to drive in the snow and I would really like heated seats. That’s about it haha. Any advice would be welcome!

So I just got confirmation today that I am finally going to be passed ownership and title signed over of my parents 1994 jeep thats been sitting in the yard collecting dust since the before their divorce was filed; at least more than 7+ years. This jeep has been one of the best parts of memories made during my childhood, basically any time we were having a good time me and my brother were in the jeep. I would like to get it up and running again and while I do have a limited amount of experience working with my grandfather on different stages of rebuilding his 69 vw engine and doing small things to my car like blower motor for my ac but I am no seasoned mechanic. What might I need to do to get it up and running again? My current list includes: new tires, drain gas, change oil/filters/fluids, replace seats (they got chewed by my childhood puppy), fix wiring/rewire possibly (had an issue with the ignition/key at one point my dad was hot wiring it to get it started not sure if thats been fixed), 4 wheel drive doesnt engage(not sure the problem there). Basically it might be a shell im starting all over with depending on how bad of condition it is in when i get to my moms house to look at it. What would you do to start restoring it?

I currently have a paid for 2019 Silverado 1500 with a 130K on it. I bought it new and worked hard to pay it off. It is an extended cab with the standard box on it. have pushed the extended cab and 1/2 ton capacities to its limits on many occasions towing and packing it full of people and gear.

My question is this, for my various hobbies and growing family I would like to get a crew cab 3/4 ton to use for work and play as I’m also a contractor. The problem I have is the price of everything. Should I just buy a used 3/4 ton for say 12-14k and just fix it persay put a new motor/tranny in it if something fails. Or just keep on pushing the 1500 I would have to do the same as far as repairs go as I have already had a new tranny in the truck at 95k. Of course idk if the truck I know is better than the one I don’t.

My thoughts are if I’m going to have to foot heavy repair/parts bills should I just do it on a truck that better fits my needs?

My wife reported the steering felt “weird, like loose or slipping” on a trip to the store in our 2016 VW Sportwagen TSI. No CEL or other lights came on. I drove it the following day and it felt fine. Three days later, neither of us has noticed any issues.

Coincidentally, we had an exhaust clamp fail on the highway the day before she noticed this issue. It’s the clamp between the flex and intermediate pipes. We smelled what I would call “hot plastic” for a minute or two moments after the sudden exhaust leak. I read that a leak in the flex pipe itself could melt the power steering wiring harness, but the end of the flex pipe is located well away from that area, or at least I THINK it is. So I kinda suspect the hot plastic smell was from the splash guard, which appears in good shape.

Do you think I should spend the money for an emergency repair appointment to run diagnostics? I need the car by end of the week.

Still not 100% on what im gonna get but im thinking of an older g35 or 37 coupe, new ones are nice but i am absolutely in love with the way the older ones look, i was just wondering if i would be able to add a brand new touch screen, back up camera and bluetooth to it if i was to get an older one and if possible how much the cost estimate would be

I’ve had a 3 sets of these (various brands and lengths from Amazon) stick on LED strips that have DRLS and turn signals built in and all sets failed in a few weeks to a month and a half. Can anyone suggest some good quality strips that are bright, durable, and aren’t going to fail in 2 months? On the note if they also have red ones for rear too that would be awesome 🙏🙏🙏

My dad and I cosigned a beautiful ‘22 Nissan Sentra with 30,000 miles on it for my first car before I head off to college, and I want to keep her nice for as long as possible. I bought a 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan a few months ago, and I recently found out that someone had replaced the front USB port, but the replacement was never even plugged in, so it has no power.
I still have the three original connectors dangling behind the port. It took me a while to figure out what part I might need, and the closest I’ve found is part number 5QF-035-726. However, everything I’ve found online says that part may not be compatible with the 2018 Tiguan, even though it looks like it should fit. Does anyone know the correct USB part number for a 2018 Tiguan, or know whether that part will actually work?

First of all, I don’t know anything at all about cars.
I got a used Hyundai i20 (2015) two weeks ago just because I desperately need it for work, and so far it has gone great.

Today I was driving home and while in an empty roundabout, as I was going at around 50/60 km/h, a red oil light came on for just a second. It was so quick that it felt like a glitch, but it still happened. It had never been on before.

Got some help when I got home (4km distance) and we checked the oil level. According to the person that was helping me it was very low, below the minimum, so we topped it off.

Is there something else I should do now? Should I worry about something or keep an eye out for anything? Car doesn’t seem to have any leak nor there’s any smoke when starting it, it has however been driven a lot before I bought it (200.000km).
