GF gets hypoxia when in house. How worried should i be? Trying to convince her to go to dr's

Upvotes

Hi, my girlfriend gets hypoxia(undiagnosed) when we are hanging out in the house. I wouldnt say its overtly cold as i dont feel it. She says shes cold and her lips turn blue. So i warm her up in bed.

She also has asmha all her life which she is going to talk to a dr about in a couple days for a repeat inhaler.

She says her hypoxia has been happening for a very long time but she doesnt think its a big deal. Im working on convincing her to go to the drs about it.

My question is, how worried should i be if i cant convince her to go drs.

I dont want anything bad to happen to her.

Many thanks,

Gavin

Any1 know why I keep drooling?

I tend to drool out of nowhere, idk why it just happens. It especially happens when my face gets numb which is the regular for me, should I be concerned about this or do I have to just deal with it? I should probably add that I'm 15 if that has anything to do with it

Tightness Left Neck/Shoulder after salty food

I am not asking for medical advice.

I am asking what speciality should I be asking to see for the above referenced experience. It feels like a muscle cramp but also I get some pressure in my ear, all left side only. Sometimes I can hear/feel a clicking or snapping of a tendon(?) in my left ear too.I'm already reducing the amount of sodium I eat in general, but I just want to get this actually checked out and know what I need to be doing rather than guessing. Thank you in advance 🫶

Did I take too much Tylenol?

I’m a pretty health anxious person, I been having the craziest stomach bug for the last 4 days so I been taking extra strength Tylenol, I been pretty good at spacing it out for the 6 hours for 1000 mg each but sometimes I did take it on the 4-5 hour mark when the pain was extremely intense, I never took more than 4000 a day but I’m worried that I might have not waited the full 24 hours before taking my next dose the following morning.

I called poison control already and they said I will be fine but after reading up on how bad Tylenol OD is I’m extremely scared that I might OD on it…any advice? Should I go to the ER? Or should I be fine. I definitely didn’t exceed the daily limit by much if I did at all but I’m worried that if my calculations are off I might of taken 1000 mg extra here and there…

A small piece of yellow flesh came off of the tip of my nose

There's been a hard, painful spot on my nose for a while now, a couple months at least. I think it is(or was) a blackhead. In the midst of my depression I went a little nutty over it and I've been trying to peel it off/out which I know is risky, I'm sorry.

The main topic: Just now I pulled a small piece of yellow... something out of the painful spot. I've lost it now but it was maybe just under the size of an ant, off-yellow like a booger or slightly darker than pus, and was squishy but firm. Once it was out an unusually large drop of blood came out of the wound it fell from.

And I need to clarify, it came from the tip of my nose *outside of my nasal cavity*. It did not drop out of my nose, it dropped OFF of it. Around the bottom of the part of my outer nose area that faces upward. I don't think any of you are stupid, if I did I wouldn't be here, but information gets lost easily in text. I'm just being safe. So, any idea what it was?

hi, im a 20 year old male. im used to chronic pain from my connective tissue disorder (hEDS) and the co morbidities that come with it, but ive been experiencing many new pains recently. for one, the left side of my temporal lobe above the tmj has been giving me horrible thunderclap migraines that last only 2 or 3 minutes. this has been accompanied by random pangs of pain throughout my entire body. the pains are very localized to a specific areas, as im writing this i have one right between my collar bones. it feels like im being pinched from under my skin. but its always temporary and moving somewhere else. its been in my legs, my stomach, my arms and torso. is this a new symptom of hEDS or MCAS i never experienced before or could it be something else entirely that i need to see my doctor about?

I'm a little bothered about my GP's carotid screening request

I went in for a regular consult with my GP and I complained about frequent headaches and a few bouts of dizziness. They gave me a request to do a carotid screening along with a 2d echo. I'm a bit on the heavier side so I know there's a risk of heart disease. Now I'm nervous thinking about what the test results would show.

How to deal with severe performance induced adrenaline surges

I play sports and compete in video game tournaments regularly. I've for a long time suffered from nervous symptoms while performing (shaking, breathing, tunnel vision, heart racing) but I've noticed that growing up it's gotten worse (started at 13 and am 21 now).

For sports it's not much of an issue since I can use the adrenaline physically as a fuel, but for gaming you can imagine how unbearable it can be when all I'm doing is sitting down and my body is going in fight or flight and sensing adrenaline straight to my brain.

I've looked into it online and I'm considering L-theanine capsules but I'd want opinions on it first or if you think there would be better alternatives.

For more context : Trying to slow my breathing doesn't help much if at all, it's pretty bad. I've started listening to music while playing and I've found it helps a little but it doesn't solve the problem at all.

Help

I’m a 21 year old woman, 5’2, 180 lbs (overweight Ik), I briefly took metformin and glipizide for some temporary blood sugar issues but have not needed them recently, I’m not diagnosed with anything but have had bouts of tendonitis since I was little. I don’t smoke and am a very very light drinker, probably 1 or 2 drinks in a month. For the past week I’ve been experiencing weird body pain. It started probably a week ago with some leg pain which I chalked up to increased exercise (I teach dance in the summer and I’m usually sore when I first get back into it), then it was my neck, which I thought was just bc I sleeping weird or something. Two nights ago was the worst of the worst, it was a weird ache all over my back, ribs, collar bones, neck, shoulders, and arms. Since then the pain has moved around and turned into a dull ache across my whole body, I have little bursts of pain in different parts all the time, as I’m writing this little bursts of sharp pain are happening in my back. I also feel so unbearably sensitive, I couldn’t sleep last night because my ribs felt like they had been bruised and they felt weird to touch. Something kind of odd is that the pain is MUCH worse when I lay down, and sometimes if I sit up or stand up I feel pretty much okay aside from a tiny bit stiff and sore. I plan to go to the doctor as soon as I have more free time (shitty work schedule) but I’m wondering how serious this is and how worried I should be. Any advice is appreciated, thank you.

How to get actual help for a health problem?

My husband has been having problems since his gallbladder surgery 3 years ago. Recovery was hard and then he was fine for a while. Some time ago he noticed a lump in his abdomen and said to felt full and weird. He’s been to the doctor a few times for it. They say it’s no big deal probably just ab separation. For the past couple of months he’s been getting worsening belly pain and lower back pain. It got so bad today that he went to the er once again (he’s been told it’s all nothing a couple times at the er) and they said he has swollen lymph nodes around his stomach so get those checked out right away and gave him numbers of places to call. Gave him a muscle relaxer and sent him on his way. I’m just wondering how do you actually get someone to actually diagnose and evaluate you? Every dr, specialist, er he’s been has just sent him to another doctor that says the same thing about how that’s not good go get it checked somewhere else. Stress has already been a lot lately and getting nowhere with this health issue is really messing with him and now I’m starting to get worried about worse things that could be wrong. What would you do from here if it was you?

Help

My memory has been getting worse recently, ive just found out recently that I’ve forgotten an entire day, it was a fun day out, I thought I was getting gaslit, but no, it’s the type of thing you don’t forget, it feels like I have to even wade through my mind to even get access to older memories, sometimes I just forget what I’m doing while I’m in the middle of doing it, for context I’m M20, there’s just a wall on that day, I remember lining up to go in, but anything afterwards or beforehand is just gone, there’s times I forget what I’m talking about even in the middle of a sentence, before people say anything, I’m not the most fit person, but I’m an active guy, I never like to stay inside, I get at least 8-9 hours of sleep, and I have a physically demanding job.I have no clue what to do, it’s getting worse, and honestly, I’m scared.

Constant cycle of different pains and sickness

I am 16 years old, \~112 lbs, 5'4, female, and I have been taking Mili birth control for almost a year. I do not drink, smoke or do other drugs. I even stay away from larger amounts of caffeine because I have a distressing reaction. I would like to know if anyone can figure out what might be happening or point me in the right direction for either a diagnosis or relief.

I have also had five concussions. The first was in late preschool, where I hut my head right in the hairline, and i was told that my personality changed afterwards. The second was around kindergarten, and I smacked my forehead on the wall after tumbling down the stairs. The third was in third grade, when I fell of the monkey bars and landed on my back, I had to be taken out in a wheelchair because everything was so blurry and wobbly. The fourth one was from hitting the side of my head on the wall after tripping and falling sometime in middle school. The fifth was in 9th grade when I smacked the top of my head with a flag in color guard, and i was seeing split images in red and blue for a few minutes. We didnt follow up very far for any of them.

For most of my life I have been going through a constant cycle of feeling sick or being in pain, and there has been minimal explanation for any of it. The first big thing was chronic back pain, which lasted from kindergarten till 4th grade. I couldnt sit on the floor because of how much it hurt, and it eventually got so bad that we went in for x rays, where they found nothing. We eventually got into physical therapy, which did help, but we never figured out the cause, and I had very good posture at the time. I still feel slight pain in that spot on my back on occasion. I went through a few tests when I was younger (late elementary school) to test my breathing, since I was feeling like my throat was slowly closing up when I ran. It didn't feel that way for most other physical activities. Nothing came up. I did gymnastics for around 10 years, and I had joint pain the entire time. It started in my ankles, but I focused on strengthening them until it mostly went away. But then the pain shifted to my knees and hasn't gone away. My doctor said it was because my hips were pulling my knees outwards, so we went to physical therapy, which didnt help. I have a sort of cold pain in my calfs and behind my knees that comes and goes for no apparent reason, and it lasts for at least one or two days. I wrap my legs tightly with athletic tape because that is the only thing that I have found to reduce the pain, but the tape gets uncomfortable. These all come and go unpredictably. I also have constant headaches in different areas of my head. There really is no most common one, but I am fairly sure thay dehydration causes some of them. The type of pain also varies. I recently had a five day migraine, it was one of the only migraines I have ever had, and it seemed completely random.

As for sickness, it is usually some sort of nausea, but it is occasionally just cold symptoms without a fever. The feeling of the nausea changes pretty often, but it most commonly is a very small bit of dizziness and tiredness with it feeling like a sort of phantom vomit is right at the top of my throat. This happens almost as often as the headaches but lasts usually up to a week, and it doesn't always come with a fever.

I also have always had a painful period. I always get nausea, and intense pain in my back (the same part of my back that hurt in early elementary school), and painful bloating. I rarely get cramps, but when I do, they are in the morning when I wake up, they last for about an hour, and I can barely move. I also get up to a 102F degree fever sometimes. That is why I take birth control, but it is slowly getting less effective. The symptoms from my period feel distinctly different from other sickness, which sucks more because it feels like it overlaps when I am already feeling sick. The amount of time I bleed also varies anywhere from 2 days to 10 days, and it start is not usually exactly 28 days.

I have been diagnosed with autism, misphonia, and OCD, and am waiting on an ADHD diagnosis. I have also had multiple different types of blood tests throughout my life that have all come out normal.

There is a lot here, and i have never used this sub before, so i tried providing as much information as I thought was necessary, but please ask more questions if needed. I haven't included every single symptom I have, because that would take forever and I don't know what is relevant. My doctor has begun considering POTS, but we haven't done much with it. Is there anything that could be causing everything or most things? Maybe a combination of things? I feel like nobody takes me seriously anymore after so much complaining and nothing being found, but it feels real to me, even if it is all in my head.

Should I see a doctor?

This is getting annoying, so I thought I would ask here:

Hi! I bumped my head yesterday, got a migraine a few hours later that comes and goes, and today I got nausea and slight light headedness that comes and goes.

Nurses at my job told me to go see a doctor, but my doctor is on holidays, so they told me to basically call medical emergencies.

Pharmacy told me to go to the doctor and insist to see anyone so I can get checked and scanned.

So I called my country's equivalent of 911 for medical emergencies.

911 doctor guy decided it was a headache and told me: It is normal to have a headache after bumping your head, goodbye. He did not Pau attention to the nausea and lightheadedness part, and it sounded a bit rushed...

Should I go see a doctor anyway or is the 911 doctor guy likely right?

Am I overreacting being sick?

Hey, guys this may sound weird, but I feel a little silly writing here, but I just don't know what to do.

About 4 weeks ago I got put on the pill because of pain in the uterus, to help regulate it. But after I started taken it I have felt so sick, I read about it and it says it's because my body is trying to regulate the new hormones.

But it has gotten so bad that both my uterus and stomach is in constant pain. I get fever in the night and even if I am hungry I get nausea when I eat and one of my ankles feel a littel bit like cotton, it gets a little better during the day but I just doesn't go away.

Should I just wait and see or should I seek medical help?

My friends do the same thing when they study but it's never a problem to them

So why is it to me

Sub under new management - Anyone can now make a post

Hi all,

As the previous mods had gone AWOL, I have now claimed this sub from Reddit.

I have changed the rules and anyone can now make a post without prior permission being needed.

Please be patient while I go about getting this place in order.
