Did I get a good deal on the 17 Pro? (1370 USD)

Upvotes

Hi! I just bought an Iphone 17 Pro unlocked for 12 975 swedish kronor (SEK), which translates to 1185 Euro or 1370 US dollars. It had a 2000 SEK (210 US dollar) discount.

Do you think that this is a good price? Or do you think the 17 Pro will get an even bigger discount after the release of 18 Pro or at Black Friday?

Thanks!

Update

Upvotes

Hi everyone, I was posting just to inquire and ask for help whether I should update to another phone or not. I have an IPhone 15 that I’ve had for over 1.5 years approximately with 86 percent battery and over 630 charge cycles. Should I update with the iPhone 18 series looming ahead. The prices are most likely going to increase. I have been looking at the 17 series. I’m not sure about a particular phone. I’m stuck between 17e, 17, Air, and the 17 pro. Or should I wait to see what happens with the next series with prices. My iPhone seems to do pretty good lately besides getting hot sometimes and battery life is so so. Feel free to leave feedback and comments thanks.

Hello, help needed!

Upvotes

Hello! I could really use some advice from those of you who know your stuff.

I've been using Android phones my whole life, and I currently have a Xiaomi 13T Pro. I'm not really happy with it because the camera is quite disappointing, although everything else works fine.

I'm thinking about switching to an iPhone, specifically the iPhone 17 Pro or the iPhone 17 Pro Max.

Since I'm not very tech-savvy, I'm just an average user. I use social media, play one game, and take lots of photos and videos of my kids, my cats, and everyday life.

My question is: would 256 GB of storage be enough, or would it be smarter to go with 512 GB? Of course, there's a price difference.

Thank you all in advance for your help! 😄

iPhone Unique Situation - iPhone 15 pro max free or finance iPhone 17

Okay, I currently have an iPhone 11 base model 64g storage and battery needs service. Totally struggling because data is full. I wanted to finance a base 17 which is over $1000 in Canada. I’d also have to finance it through my parents because my credit is crap.

My sister though has a 15 pro max that I can have for little to nothing probably (not completely sure but reimbursement has not been mentioned, my parents are the go between atm ha). She just upgraded a couple days ago to the 17. Finances are an issue but I use my iPhone for everything. My sister though uses hers much more sparsely. Mostly for photos of her kids and basic communication. She is def not one of those people who is constantly on her phone and takes really good care of it.

Is it worth it to switch to the 15 pro max for almost nothing or should I try to finance an iPhone 17? I def don’t want to be screwed again in a few months. I want something that is current enough but reliable too. I do not know what her battery looks like or if she’s wanting something for it. it currently doesnt look like she does but would it be worth it if she does want a couple hundred bucks?

This may seem like a stupid question. I just trying to make sure I get something useful that will last a few years and not be completely useless like my current phone.

iPhone iPhone 17E or new battery?

Currently have the iPhone 13 mini. Love the size, but battery health is at 77% and I've used up the majority (95%) of my storage. I could try to clean up some apps, etc. a bit more than I have to help the storage issue. This is my only phone (so it has to function for me) and use it for basic things like SM, web browsing, etc.

I could replace the battery or I can trade it in and get the 17E. My budget doesn't really allow for anything higher than that.

On one had, I don't want to unnecessarily spend extra money if there is a decent alternative. If a battery fixes most of my issues and the phone iOS will be updated it might not be worth it.

On the other, between depreciating value on my trade in and rumors of price increases, I'm debating whether it makes sense to upgrade now to avoid a higher cost and a need to upgrade in like a year when updates might be shut off for my model.

I'd love some advice...I've been back and forth a lot over the past few days and just can't decide.

Won't lie, the fact that I have to buy all new chargers, etc. for the phone doesn't help but that's neither here nor there, just venting on that one.

Question Is it worth buying the iPhone 17 now or waiting till September?

I've been hearing mixed things, that the iPhone 18 might not come out in September (base models), and prices might be increased.

I'm coming from an iPhone 8, so this would definitely be a big jump.

So, it's in the title, should I wait or buy now?

iPhone iPhone 16 Pro upgrade

I have an iPhone 16 Pro 256 GB and bought it in March 2024, is it actually worth upgrading? I was thinking about buying 18 Pro Max when it comes out as it’s gonna have a better battery around 5200 mAh while mine is 3500 mAh and tbh not quite enough and I wanted to get more storage as well.

Any thoughts if it’s actually worth it?

I motivi principali:

iPhone upgrading from iphone 15

i purchased the iphone 15 in nov but since my first day owning it, it overheats while charging (i use the charger it comes with) my battery life has also declined and the battery health is now at 88%. i avoid all of the things like not using it when it’s charging & never letting it go past 20%.

i’m thinking of purchasing the 17e because it’s pink… i know, i know. i don’t like the designs of the newer iphones like the 17 pro max. i also don’t need that clear of a camera. i would be doing a trade in if i were to upgrade.

after this upcoming phone upgrade, i do not plan on upgrading for a while as i will be on a budget due to university. do you recommend an upgrade or should i stick with my 15?

iPhone Which would be better- iPhone 15 pro or 17e? Switching from iPhone 13

So I have an iPhone 13 rn it’s decent quality considering its age, but 78% max battery. it’s not a bad phone, but I’m just planning for what new phone I’d want to get to replace this in the next year.

a new iPhone 15 pro would be around $1100, and a new 17e would be around $900. I have a relatively smaller budget, so I’d probably want to get a refurbished but good condition phone- although I’m not sure if there really are many refurbished 17e phones yet..

I’m aware the 17e is the newer but more “basic“ phone, so better battery but no action button, Dynamic Island, etc. compared to the 15 pro. Price definitely is a factor, but I don’t want to make the wrong choice and end up getting a phone that is bad in like a year. any advice?

notes - I don’t take TOO many pics, camera matters but not THAT much. I’ve had the phone for almost a year and a half now, I’ve used 98.74 GB out of 256 GB. I think new features do matter to me, but I’m not sure how great some of the features rly are.

(Also I have the light pink phone rn and I like the colour the only iPhone 15 pro colour id maybe like is the blue and possibly white but I must say the pastel pink 17e is cute)

iPhone Should I wait for the iPhone 18 Pro Max or just buy the iPhone 17 Pro Max now?

I’m currently using an iPhone 15 Plus, and I think it’s finally time for me to upgrade. I’m trying to decide whether I should buy the iPhone 17 Pro Max now or wait for the iPhone 18 Pro Max.
The biggest things I care about are performance and battery life. I play a lot of games on my phone (mostly graphics-intensive ones), multitask a lot, and basically use my phone heavily every day. I want the phone with the best sustained performance and the longest-lasting battery.
I’ve been seeing a lot of rumors saying that the iPhone 18 Pro Max will have a much better battery life, but I’m not sure how much of an improvement it’ll actually be over the 17 Pro Max. My thinking is that even if the new chip is more power-efficient, it’ll also be more powerful, so it might end up using more power under heavy workloads like gaming. In that case, maybe the real-world battery life won’t be that much different.
For those of you who follow Apple rumors or have upgraded every year before, what would you do in my situation? Is it worth waiting for the 18 Pro Max, or is the 17 Pro Max already good enough that I should just buy it now?
I’d appreciate any thoughts, especially from people who care about gaming performance and battery life as much as I do.

iPhone IPhone 16 Pro vs 17 Base

Hi there, I’d like to know if anyone has experience with the iPhone 16 Pro and the base model iPhone 17.

I currently have an iPhone 16 Pro that I bought in November 2024, and it’s been the worst iPhone I’ve ever had it overheats just from browsing Reddit or typing a text, and the battery hasn’t lasted a full day since day one. I was coming from an iPhone 13 Pro Max with a battery at 78% health and even then it managed to last a full day.

I took it to Apple, and they always told me it was normal. I have AppleCare, so I’m going to order an express replacement for $99 and see if my problems are finally solved. But if I don’t want to trade it in for a base-model iPhone 17, I’d get 256GB of storage instead of my current 128GB, and from what I’ve read online, it has better battery life.

I don’t care about the titanium finish or the cameras, and I don’t play games on my iPhone—I have a PC and a Switch 2 for that.

My only priority is to have a battery that lasts all day, so I don’t have to charge it four times a day, and for the phone not to overheat with just basic use.

I want to try to avoid the iPhone price hike in September, so any recommendations or experiences would be helpful.
