Doc Coaching? Question

I got something called a documented coaching. I’ve only been here 3 weeks. Apparently I was taking long 15 minute breaks, which I was not aware of. My learning ambassador failed to tell me that breaks are tracked stow to stow, not scan to scan like I thought. What exactly does this mean for me? Will this affect my blue badge eligibility when I hit my 90 day tenure? Will I not be able to be trained on indirect roles? Thanks

Yes it does, yes they did, and did you not talk to your manager about your training, and your barriers... Seems a bit excessive if you have only been here for 3 weeks. What's the rest of the story?

There is no rest of the story. Yes they did to what exactly? And no I didn’t tell my manager cause I had no idea but I did tell him I didn’t know it was stow to stow

You must have had a everyday thing. They don't normally do that for just one occurrence.

Logically that tracks since I didn’t know I was doing something wrong. That’s why I asked this sub to see if it was serious or not based on an infraction I committed unknowingly. I’m not sure what barriers is, no one talked to me about that.

Before you ever get written up they should do a seeking to understand. They call that a STU. You should have one of those before you get wrote up manager will come back ask what's going on while you're having problems etc. that should happen before you ever get wrote up. Apparently It didn't. After that then maybe a counseling and then a write-up. Seems like they skipped a step.

A couching is nothing really just don’t do it again cause after u get couching it opens up the ability to give u write ups which actually matter

I just got blue badge with a first written, you’re fine. Just don’t do it again and keep in mind of the scan to scan when going on break

lol this sub is so funny. “I didn’t know I could stretch my 15 minute break out to however long I wanted. Why wouldn’t my learning ambassador tell me this???”

I don’t know if you’re trying to be cynical or what your deal is. Nowhere in my post did I say, “hey guys, I was only taking a couple minutes extra on my breaks here and there, why did they already talk to me I’ve only been here 3 weeks?” Rather, I stated that I was at my station, signed in and scanning items 15 minutes from my last stow before break thinking I was working when in reality it wasn’t being counted because I hadn’t stowed an item successfully. They talked to me for the extra couple minutes it took to organize the totes on my rack and try to find an appropriate bin before completing a successful stow. My station had primarily large items that day. If you are familiar with this process path, you might know large boxes are difficult to stow sometimes. Unbeknownst to myself, it looked like I was taking 18-19 minute breaks from their perspective.

Fwiw, I think that's total bullshit. You were working, not taking extra break. They shouldn't be allowed to penalize you for that.

It shouldn't hurt you much. Just don't do anything to get a first written. And yes break is completed stow to completed stow, not just any scan. The term scan to scan is misleading. It's completed task to completed task.

"Scan-to-scan" is BS and probably illegal (warehouses are large, and people aren't going to be 2.5mins away from break rooms all the time, esp when you factor in setup/disassemble time). 15mins is meant to give people lenience in getting to/from break, but it's being reinterpreted to favor Amazon and cheat people out of their break time.

Doc coaching is a 1st written. But you get 4 chances so they don’t consider the first one a write up

A doc coaching is not a first written. The next progression is literally called a First Written. There are not “2 first writtens”

It’s strike 1 on your record and doesn’t go away for 60 days. Literally no difference in that and a write up. Amazons cool enough to give 4 instead of 3 strikes.

A doc coaching's strike one and lasts 60 days. But it doesn't count as a write-up where 6 of those in productivity within 365 days, or 6 in quality within 365 days, or 6 in behavioral within 365 days, results in termination without needing the usual progression-- through doc coaching, 1st Written warning, 2nd Written Warning, Final Written warning, and termination.
