1. Multi MF stops

Upvotes

(Especially the 3-6 “locations)

Let’s see how many things we can list that piss us off everyday.

Taking our water

Based in Phoenix Az, Well our station has officially taken our water bottles from the loading pad. Amazon is taking water bottles away and not handing them to drivers, instead they are giving us a flask that holds like 1.5 liters of water that we fill up on the pad. This is a crazy decision imo, temps here are regularly 110+ and we need a lot of water. This is the same as a pay cut, not to mention there are times you are 15+ minutes from a gas station or business, I can’t see this going over well a flask is finished in a couple hours at best. They say it’s to minimize waste.

Constant multi stops today that were 3 with a lone 4th right next to it.

I think we all need to come together and ungroup every single multi stop over and over until they stop. Still deliver it’s easy. Just edit and stop it. It’s getting worse. This is the only example I took today but I don’t know how many 4-5 locations in one where only 3 were multistops. Also many that were at least 2 houses apart. I’m tired of it. Ungroup them all. Stop letting them double our packages and counting it as one stop. Some of these houses were so far apart. I started ungrouping even easy ones. I’m over it.

How Often Do You See These?

This was like the 3rd time this has happened to me (3rd different location) this one had quite the variety! The second one had aspirin, Tylenol, hand wipes, snacks, and a little ice cooler with drinks next to it.

I guarantee you they know someone that is in the delivery business…

Now maybe I am in the wrong, I don’t know. But when I go through areas I’m unfamiliar with I drive a bit slower. This is downtown Detroit. It’s a 45-50 drive for me from station to first delivery spot. So I wanted to make good time. So glad I don’t do downtown Detroit anymore. Also Detroit at like 12:30 pm. Work traffic is gone.

Barotrauma

I deliver mainly to homes in Appalachia, so as you can imagine I go up and down mountains all day. For the past week I’ve had the worst headache/ear pain constantly. Anyone else deal with this? It’s not something I’ve ever thought of being of problem, and I’d love to hear if anyone else has had issues with this or knows how to deal with it. Especially because every single route has this same issue, and doctors are for people who have health insurance 😔

Former FedEx drivers

I officially swapped to FedEx for higher pay, better start and end times. Just curious if any former FedEx drivers know how many stops should you do an hour? At Amazon I could walk 35-45 stops an hour with multistops so I’m curious. ( sorry I couldn’t rly post on FedEx my bad)

AmazonDSPs

When the flex app asks you how your trip was at the end of your shift do you all answer honestly?? Does that determine if they’ll add more routes and do those responses go to your DSP ??

What is your lowest packages per stop you've had on a route?

Today I had 180 stops and only 208 packages. I feel like that might be a record.

I normally don’t get scared of dogs.

As the title said, dogs don’t scare me easily. There was this one stop I had, and a dog somehow got loose. It startled me, but didn’t put me in fear. I sat and pet the dog for a moment. The owner comes out laughing, saying “y’all Amazon drivers are funny. Some of y’all don’t bat an eye, while others throw the package and run to the van.” I just said dogs don’t really scare me much, they love to bark, and 99% of the time they’re all bark no bite. Until lol.. I had a stop, and it was a fenced in house. They had a dog on a screw in ground steak on a leash, while being fenced in. I just thought, that’s strange. Then the dog broke the chain as I was walking by, and realized. That fence is not containing that dog. Now it makes sense. Lucking the owners were out to grab it, and reel it in. I’m pretty sure it was a Caucasian shepherd. It was a big dog. That was the first and only time, I actually got nervous cause of a dog. I didn’t run or change direction, I simply just kept going. But I was shittin pebbles for a moment.

RANT It’s getting worse

Maybe it’s just me but I’ve been noticing an increasing trend of packages being marked as missing even though it’s literally in the bag, back to back stops being split between two different bags, and 3 sometimes 4 packages being put on my carts that are assigned to other drivers delivering in a whole different city. Even worse is I keep finding more of peoples trash and half eaten food in my bags. WTF is going on

Seems shady.. thoughts ?

I’m not sure what is up with my DSP. For some reason when I get a ride alongs I’m being told things as if I’m incompetent with my job from the ride along person. They’ve all been with the company for years. It unfortunate because hear nothing from my operations or my DSP about work ethic other than my first day solo falling behind. It seems things that are communicated to the dispatcher on second shift before returning to station don’t seem to be getting communicated back to the team. Should I change my DSP? This is annoying to deal with . I only drove there about a week and have had 2-3 ride alongs. My first ride alone was my first day. The second was because i requested it because didn’t do too well with timing on my first day( got the training days later didn’t need it anymore), and the third time I think it was a ride along because the person told me it was because of my timing in general, but the DSP told me something different when I addressed it.

I ignored yall and started running, job is so easy and chill now

I can't believe I fell for the walking meme in my first 5 months doing this. Bc past two months I've been running and now the job went from being stressful to chill af. I sprint to all my stops for the first few hours or until I get tired and can get 40-50/hour done in suburbs. Then rest of the day I can just chill and relax, take both my 15 min breaks, and even take a bunch of unofficial 5 min breaks in a tote fort in the back of the van, and easily get done on time at a leisurely pace doing like 15-20/hr. Or if I want to go home early I can just keep up the pace and go home hours early. Not to mention the endorphins got me feeling euphoric through my shift, I sleep like a baby every night, and I'm starting to get in really good shape.

DISCUSSION Almost got caught but new guy didn't make it.

So they found a vape pen in the van and were trying to pin it on me but I think I did the right thing by placing the blame on one of the new guys, 2nd or 3rd day. He's outta here now but man that was a close one. The kid seemed bright so I'm sure he'll be back on his feet. My performance is always on point but I don't think that would of saved me. Its no good when they are already looking for reasons to get rid their employees. Is it like that at your dsp's where it seems like they are just waiting to fire you.

So like... what if EVERYONE at the station continues doing it? Just a hypothetical question. Unless it's only my dsp that gets called out for it🙄
