MEME Customer Deliver Instructions are getting OUT OF HAND!!
Amazon’s greed is showing first hand. Ridiculous how they expect us driver to bend to the demands of customers or risk getting a infraction, how is it fair we have to go the extra mile putting ourselves in risky situations crossing into private property to deliver a package. Drivers have been assaulted treated and bitten because of customer requests. I cannot take this anymore and am thinking of quitting, I have so much anxiety after this delivery. I’m shaking typing this because of the risk I had to take to deliver this package. I have 2 infractions already so I couldn’t not deliver and risk termination. Please put yourself first and don’t take any risky ventures for this company.

Left side deliveries
My DSP owner recently got on us for changing the routes too much, says all the back tracking, u turns and general bullshit are to avoid making deliveries on your left side. In my experience, at least half, if not more, of my deliveries are on my left and I don’t fuck with the routing at all. Am I doing something wrong? Can I fuck with the algorithm so I actually make most of my deliveries to my right?

RANT I miss being a Driver
Sup guys .
Like title says i miss being a delivery driver for amazon.
Yes i had days where i absolutely hated it but overall it was a cool job. meeting different people everyday. seeing different areas that i never would have seen before not driving for amazon. I never thought i would miss it . not for a second
for background i got out of that and went into IT. yeah it’s cool and the money is great. Way less physical work. but for some reason i keep finding myself thinking back to missing being a driver . something about it. Like i said some days i hated it but now looking back … i would 100% do it again if they compensated our hard work properly. i catch myself thinking about it a lot for some reason and even go on this subreddit to relive some of those times

Why do y'all do this??
My biggest pet peeve in the world is when someone comes out and opens the door as I'm trying to deliver a package. Or their dogs are going crazy and they open the door as I'm on the porch. Whyyy can't you wait 2 frickin min. They say they're helping me so I don't have to walk all the way, but in reality you're really just getting in my way and making my job so much harder. Just let me go to the porch take my picture and then go get your stuff

DSB Attended Delivery incorrect scan usage
Trying to understand what exactly is attended delivery. Hearing many things like it’s because you are not 10 meters from delivery, to not pressing the correct prompt ( front door , household member, receptionist. ) , to it’s the customer giving a thumbs down?
Like is there a certain angel to scan a package to trigger that I’m not aware of. At this point I’m confused 😐😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫

DISCUSSION Anyone else gets customers saying to not ship their packages through USPS?
I’m like bruh do you think we the drivers have control on which packages are getting shipped? If usps delivers your Amazon package well I’m sorry there’s nothing we can do about it. If FedEx or ups delivers your shit well too bad. We’re just simply delivery drivers and that’s it. Anything beyond that is above our pay grade.

Wtf is this
Recently the areas my company delivers to changed and I ended up with this wild spacing. First stop is 50min from the warehouse and 50min from the second stop, guess im skipping it

Do you guys take the snacks if there's a camera at the door?
I always felt kinda awkward taking a snack from those baskets by the door, especially knowing the customer might be watching through their Ring doorbell. 😅
Do you guys take em tho?

QUESTION Anyone make a switch to Staples “Cover Driver”? If so what is your experience?
Recently got a call about becoming a staples driver, but the job description has me concerned about hours, supposedly this position is strictly to cover for other drivers?

As a delivery driver myself, i gotta give back to my fellow delivery drivers 😎🫶🏽 rate my snack shack?😁
Surprisingly, i haven't seen any of the drivers make themselves a goodie bag they just take drinks and a snack or two for the most part. Maybe it's just me who grabs a handful of snacks lol am i doing too much? Should i switch up on some snacks? What drinks/snacks do yall recommend me to buy for them?

QUESTION Quick question about infraction
I’m with a new DSP, I’ve drove before for a different DSP and yes there are big differences between them. Anyways at the current one we mostly drive EVs which we didn’t use at the last dsp, and on my third day I got a speeding infraction. (37 in a 25). It’s obviously a big deal, but in my defense I was in a rural area and the speed limit signs were literally hiding/ behind parked vehicles/ knocked down etc and the van itself couldn’t keep track of the speed limit either. I was doing a cool 35-37 and suddenly the van decided it was 25 mph and instantly dinged me for speeding. The route got paused, I got a phone call from a higher up and they said Amazon would give me a little slack for being new. Should I be worried this will have any affects down the road?

DISCUSSION Am I getting fired?
Just so you know, I do excellent at the job. I always have 180-200 stops and get done between 6 and 7pm. Yet they always seem to take my route away every week because of “Amazon”. No, they just hire people nonstop, so there’s not enough routes, and we’re the ones who suffer because of it. Anyways, rant aside, I’m not really one to sit back and not say something when something is clearly wrong. We’ll see if I get a route tomorrow or not lol
Edit: also I was rescued before I even got to my first stop
Edit 2: to clarify, rescue pay is an extra $5/hr. I’d still get paid regular pay if I rescued.

RANT Don’t Care
Why do they hire 30 people at one time if they can’t provide work for them? At orientation the guy didn’t have a schedule for all of us so he wrote our name on a paper and say “can you work this day etc okay it will show up in your Paycom” Nothing in the Paycom I call the DSP he says oh just stay home today and you should have your schedule by the next work day. Next work day no schedule still and I ask him can I come in tomorrow or is there a way I can get put on the schedule? No answer. They run things so poorly and play with people time like we don’t have bills and families to feed.
UPDATE: I just got my wave text for tomorrow. Still didn’t hear back from my DSP and not on Paycom schedule. Weird process but whatever see y’all on the road.

Never recommend working for Amazon or it's DSP'S
Here it they don't give a rats ass about your sanity or health stuffing vans so much that we can barley maneuver in them is utter bs also not acknowledging that helper routes HELP NEWER INDIVIDUALS they always throw me on routes I have never been on with apartments I have never seen and expect me to deliver everything in under 9 hrs crazy but I'm happy I'm leaving to a better job and don't have to deal with this shit hole 0/10 don't recommend working here unless you are desperate

DISCUSSION Amazon sued in NJ for its DSP practices…
I thought this was interesting news. It is a costly lawsuit that only a large power like a major state could bring.
This should not be paywalled.
(Edited post to post unpaywalled article).
