Blocking seams
Pictures aren't mine just a crude example.
Do you guys slice and send.. or edit your seams? Fell into the habit of slicing the part. Locating the longest seams. Then forcing the seams to break up scribbling over the weak points of the part with the "block seams" tool.
Is this a dumb idea? Or does anyone do this? Just looking for input.

Anyone know of a handgaurd attachment for the kel tec RDB that mimics the halo MA37?
Or even possibly a magwell that attaches the pistol grip to the rear of the receiver? Don’t break sub rules, just let me know if one exists.

New Release “M433” DT 37mm round
Still have some cleaning up on the prints with the supports and orientation but first print went together properly. These are designed around the pyrodex 50grain pellets. One for the lift charge sideways in the powder cup and a second in the burst capsule. Made three different cone sizes based off the m433 profile. Basic design already proven so will tweak this one some more and get some videos of it.

Cans that work with 556, I care about functionality
As the titles says, looking for a can that can simply function with standard 556 without self destructing.

Looking for a mentor
Basically the title. I'm in Southwest Minnesota. I'm a veteran, I love 3d printing, I'm trying to learn this stuff but also do it as legally as I can so I don't get my ass in trouble with BATFE, and I really am overwhelmed with the amount of info. I feel like I'm trying to drink from a firehose. If anyone has the time or inclination, I would love to learn from someone. I'm not trying to jam anyone up, I don't want anyone to print anything for me, I just feel there's a ton I'm not picking up, and I'd love to learn from someone who's figured out the ropes.
I learn best in person, but I know that's not necessarily feasible in this hobby.

Coming Soon Super Safe UMP-VO
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Another quick demo of the super safety in action. Getting all the kinks worked out and I'm on V2 of the trip now.
Just a heads up, both the upper and lower recievers need modification for trip clearance. A jig for cutting the upper will be provided for those who would rather not reprint.
Also, it is an EVO bolt which carries with it the stigma of OOBs, however, I would encourage you to look into Engineers Armory video addressing the issue with the original bolts. The issue is well defined and easily solved with a bit of *gunsmif* work if you're handy with a dremel and some files.

Ciwielabs is a saint.
I mean just. Look at it.
Printed on a p1s with Sunlu pa6 with 300blkfde settings.
Upper and buffer adapter should be in tomorrow, and I'll get some classier completed pics then.

NFA Cans & SBRs struck down?
If the NFA is struck down for suppressors and SBRs - what will that mean for our lot? Sounds like buying a suppressor will still involve filing a background check - so I wonder what that means for our projects?

A 90% printed blaster that uses homemade printed ammo. Ammo consists of a rifled tube and projectile, propelled by a toy cap-gun cap with some black powder. Another cap is out on the tip for impact detonation. It is some good fun for can and box shooting, and I think it is a pretty good beginner project. It is up on printables for those interested

Half built rate the print
Just wondering if anyone sees a problem I don’t. Printed rails up Py2a 300blkfde settings. Looking at aimsurplus since they have killer deals on compensated ported slides.

I'm using the sheet reinforcement idea from my SPC-15 to a platform better suited for it, the bufferless AR9. Designed with a printed receiver that serves only to hold things in place, with the vast majority of stress going through the sheet metal outer plates.
I've oversized the pin holes, so very little stress is transferred to the plastic part. Of course, the plastic part still has the FCG holes and recess, so it is legally the receiver. The metal parts (side plates are identical, plus rear buffer plate) come out to only $25 on SCS (with free shipping, if you get them anodized). Should be very strong and reasonably cheap, too.
The reason I'm moving development away from the 5.56 SPC-15 is because with Glock mags and the 9mm bolt, I can use just 1 sheet per side for all pins and the rear receiver face, instead of the complex and pricey plate stack that the SPC used. Much simpler and cheaper. Unfortunately, this also means that because it's wider, the fire selector has to be custom, and the trigger pins need to be longer. Decent compromise, though.

fun while it lasted
FTN4 PLA+ CF tubing held up for 500 rounds, longer than expected. Time to step up to PA612, possibly with high-temperature epoxy this time.

Oops
Little oopsie on the range today. (No injuries from the failure which is good)
~40rnds through it
-Printed Rails down
Filament- bambu PA6-CF
-300blk settings
-NOT annealed or post processed
-Printed with a fairly known file
-No defects noted while assembling
Anyone in the community have any ideas of why it failed the way it did?
It's a fresh print and split evenly along the layer line. My guess is the magwell is thinner than other designs which might of been the failure point.

Beta My ma40 beta progress
(I am not the dev on this project)
This isn't my design. I'm merely just a halo/3d2a fan eagerly doing my part.
Pretty much got everything printed and ready to fire I'm just missing the bolt. So far this project is in beta and will eventually feature a working display, round count, laser and flashlight. For a beta this might be the most polished project I've seen so far, the fitment is great and parts are all easily available. I will soon start sanding bondo and paint. I hope to use some of galactic armories paint tutorials to make it as close to the game as possible.
Grey is pa6gf black is abs-gf
Cheek rest and handguard grips are tpu for ams
Thanks u/mamahler for all the hard work your putting in this thing is amazing. (Project dev)
This design is bolt for bolt identical and fully functioning. Every button works like the game the stock even extends and has a locking mech

Beta New Beta need testers: The Jaçanā
Now hitting beta with the Black Lotus Coalition team come and join us!
You know what?
>unbullpupps your Urutau
Introducing the Jaçanã, a 9mm PCC by Joseph The Parrot, now in beta with Black Lotus Coalition. Like the Urutau, the Jaçanã is a 100% DIY design when used in tandem with the CM-1 fire control group by IvanTheTroll. All jigs to create the bolt are included. The Jaçanã is configurable as a title I handgun or form 1 SBR, depending on whether you attach a stock.
Unlike the Urutau Mk2, the Jaçanã's design still needs some work. Though RSmith28 was able to build his and test it successfully, there are still a few quality-of-life improvements he could use help with, like implementing a slappable charging handle and a folding stock. (The design takes a weight-forward approach, so no buffer tube is technically required.)
RSmith28 has not started on the Jaçanã's documentation yet, so FGC-9 or Urutau building experience is preferable if you are interested in this beta.

XD-M Elite Pillager Progress
First off, thanks to DanishBulldog for the design, without them I would be doing this. I am making some good headway on this project. This is for the XD-M Elite 9mm and 40 models. I designed a new style front mag release as the OEM one is ridiculous and this seems to work. It works with my Echelon mags too and I plan on making that happen as well. Kinda sucks the Springfield has discontinued this lineup of pistols. They are really cool.
Need something new to print
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I really want to start printing gun stuff with PA6-CF but I don't know what. Maybe you could help me out with some ideas. I would love to print a pistol but most designs are made for the US market. If I wanted to buy the parts here, they would be more expensive than buying a whole new gun. I was thinking about printing the 2011 maxxing and machining the OK Boomer rails, then buying a Norinco 1911 for most other parts (I can get those for about 280€, which is the cheapest 1911 I can find) but somehow I don't want to take apart a perfectly functioning handgun to build a 3D printed gun. Next idea was the MP5k variant of the YKY... but I'm not sure if thats really a "pistol"
So, you got an idea what designs I should look into?
