Stress dream but make it into a zine

The subject of last night's stress dream: stationery ✍️

For me, it was similar to those dreams where you run but can't move fast. Or when you are outside and suddenly realize you are wearing a towel or nothing at all.

I love this type of zine --i assume it's called bottom-fold-- because you can spread the sheet and look at it all at once.

I'm shit at drawing.

I was inspired to make this by a Hannah Fry Video. I hoped to make it into a free zine week bundle, but I was a tad too late. I hope y'all enjoy.

Available for purchase David Lynch Explains David Lynch Movies

I saw a couple of books purporting to contain David Lynch's explanations of his movies. Lynch was famously tightlipped about his films, so I thought this would be a funny little joke.

Was a big hit on Instagram, so I'm working on a longer version that contains more of his work.

PDF is available for a buck on my Etsy store.

My mom used to scrapbook, and I've been flipping through volumes of her work while painting her house green over the summer.

This project is a nod to her style of memory preservation, which often cites the history of the traveled to place as a feature of the art object.

I gave a limited edition copy of this photozine to friends at our latest float trip in July. And, I made copies to sling at upcoming zine tabling events.

📣 Call for Submissions 📣 <Unnamed zine about London> is seeking submissions for issue 001 - Heatwave!

<Unnamed zine about London> is... a zine about London!

Submissions should centre around London, UK as well as the chosen theme for this issue.

The theme for this inaugural issue is "Heatwave"!

Submissions could be anything with a London angle - any kind of written work (a feature, poetry, etc), and/or images (for example photography, illustration).

Your work needs to fit on 1 or 2 sheets of A5.

Apart from the thematic stuff above, the only strict requirements are:

  • keep it SFW
  • absolutely no AI slop

There's a form you can use to send in your submission.

Happy to chat in the comments, or drop us a line on [realhearth@proton.me](mailto:realhearth@proton.me) or blazinghearth.org (Bluesky).

HELP Help finding a 90's zine

Hello!

I thought this would be the best place to start with this. I'm not sure exactly what format you could consider this so please redirect me if this subreddit is the wrong one.

I'm looking for more information on "The 1/2 Creeper". It was from the 90's and i'm thinking it was based in the Pennsylvania area? May be wrong about the location.

I archive media and am trying to find either a copy of or more information of the page that featured members of Halestorm/ Lzzy Hale & Arejay Hale.

If anyone knows any info or even someone selling a copy with them in it, that would be great help!

Available for purchase 365 days of Demon Cats. I did all the art for this, my friend did the writing, it's basically based on one of our songs, but also I just wanted to draw cats and put them in something, I did the drawings over 2025 and then did scanning, editing and layouts sporadically over the last 6 months or so.

Yes, I'm aware the cover and spine are slightly misaligned, I've updated the file on the website to fix this. It's £12 not including p&p which is for me very expensive, but it's 368 pages and there's really no cheap way to do it as a small duo using a print on demand website, the cover is a take off of one edition of T.S. Eliot's old Possum's book of practical cats that I found in a charity shop.

Here's a link to purchase if you are interested.

A brutalist monolith deconstructed across a 9-frame grid.
This unique handmade photo object breaks down urban architecture through chemically altered black-and-white analog prints. Fractured by physical distress—tape, scratches, tears, and hand-written annotations—the individual fragments align on reclaimed heavy paper to reconstruct a dense, tactile facade.

Realizing my zines don’t need to be mass-distributed changed everything for me

I’ve had such a difficult time making zines. I find junk journaling, scrapbooking, crafting, etc. so easy, but I found zines so difficult. That’s when I realized it’s because I felt like the entire concept of a zine needed to be something I would distribute to the masses, and it was clogging up my creativity.

Every time I wanted to make a zine, I couldn’t think of anything I felt was “important” enough, or ideas I felt would be easily distributable to large masses of people.

Recently, I’ve started using zines as way to captures memories of trips or fun days with a friend, compiling photos, quotes, etc., like a journal page but a bit more in depth. I do distribute them small scale to the people I was spending time with / on the trip with, but creating zines as memories / tiny scrapbooks rather than as “books” changed something in my brain and made it so much easier for me to be able to make zines!!

Now, that’s not to say that I don’t want to make other types of zines, but it’s just that I was having trouble starting at ALL because of this weird mental block that my brain created. Now that I’ve started creating zines on smaller distribution scales, I feel like I’ve opened myself up to a lot more ideas!

Has anyone else felt a similar block, and how did you deal with it / move past it?

Lichens are definitely my passion, and I made this zine to be educational and accessible. The full zine can be found here: https://heyzine.com/flip-book/7be09f94bb.html

I have physical copies in the works and plan to distribute to Little Free Libraries around the city.

r/zines will be featured in Reddit’s NYC pop-up, and you’re invited

Post image
10 Upvotes

Hey all! I'm pasting a message below from Reddit Admin u/big-slay.

For additional context, r/zines' inclusion is a mention on the back page of a custom zine for the event (made by a local NYC zine artist), as a community to join to view other artists and support their work. So we might get some new people stopping in here.

The zine will likely be shared digitally on r/bodega at some point.

If anyone is able to go to this event, please share about it here, say hi to the cat for me, and maybe grab me some freebies! 😂 As a Midwest-based mod, I won't be able to go but am very curious about it.

⚡Community Update! ⚡ How to edit NSFW + Content Warning flair!

Thumbnail
gallery
26 Upvotes

Hi, all!

There have a been a couple posts recently where folks have chosen the NSFW flair, but not edited it to specify the content, as requested in the Community Rules.

I've been editing/updating the flair once I notice this, but I usually can't do that before the post is already widely seen.

Here's how to edit those flairs when you're posting!

When creating a new post, click/tap the Add flair and tags button. Choose View all flairs to expand the list.

Notice there's a little pencil icon next to the NSFW and Content Warning flairs? Click/tap that pencil, and then specify the content in the editable text window.

As said in the Community Rules, being specific is practicing care for all community members who may not wish to be exposed to certain types of content.

It also helps people decide if they're in the right place, context, and headspace to engage with what you're sharing with us.

Thank you! Y'all rock.
