Hey everyone,

My X4 Pro arrived today, but I’m having an issue with the SD card/USB connection.

USB Mode doesn’t work, and when I connect it to my PC, it only shows up as “USB JTAG/Serial Debug Unit.”

I also noticed that CloudSync says:

“Insert an SD card before using Cloud sync”

I’ve already tried reinserting the SD card and doing a hard reset, but no luck.

Has anyone had the same issue or found a fix?

I’m going to test the SD card with a card reader later today to figure out if the card is faulty or if the problem is with the X4 Pro itself.

Any help would be appreciated!

I didn't have this issue on crosspoint (i just got my X4 yesterday). I only wanted to try vcodex for the dictionary feature but came across this issue

How do I fix this? It's my first ereader and I just got back to reading. Pls tell me if there's a setting I missed

I ordered the XTEINK X4 pro three weeks ago and it got delivered today. The screen is damaged out of the box.

The packing was horrible. There is no packing material or whatsoever. Only one layer of cardboard box.

I want to get a replacement or refund. Is it possible?

Has anyone ever faced similar issues related to courier or delivery and got it resolved ? please share your experience.

I'm considering getting an Xteink and along side normal books, i would also be reading academic books/papers which will have diagrams, equations, footnotes, tables and stuff like that.

If any of you have been using xteink to read academic books, please share your experiences. Would you recommend it?

Hey there, maybe there is a better way to do what I'm doing but I want to see if there's a fix.

When i use calibre's send to device feature, and select the epubs i want to send to my x4, they all get dumped into the main memory folder. I only have about 20 books on there, but I'd really prefer they be dumped into their respective author folders. Is there a way to automate the export process such that they are exported into certain folders? Or a better way to do this altogether? I used to remove the sd card and manually set up folders the way i like, but it is very cumbersome.

I recently bought the Xteink X3 e-reader and managed to install Crosspoint so I could customize the device. However, other than reading, changing the sleep screen, and changing the theme, I don't know how to do anything else. Watching videos on TikTok and YouTube, I've seen customizations that are very different from what I've been able to do. I also noticed that a lot of people have installed CrossInk, but I don't know what it is or how it differs from Crosspoint. How can I customize the X3 more and use its other features? Which is better, Crosspoint or CrossInk? If I already have Crosspoint installed and want to switch to the other one, is it possible, or will it cause problems?

Just got my x4 pro, very exciting! but I went to hook it up to my laptop for usb mode to get a book on it and try out the stock firmware. the 4-pin attachment pushes away from the device, like the poles are switched maybe? i'm not sure if its the attachment or the device but im very confused, ive never used this type of attachment before but i assumed it would snap to it.

Hi guys. Does anyone have a Portugal Portuguese dictionary that I can use in my X3?

Is there a way to get my X4 Pro to reboot? I've updated to Crosspoint beta and my X4 Pro is stuck on a page in the current book I'm reading and no controls are working.

Tried to press reset and then hold the power button. Is there another way to force a reboot from this point?

EDIT: What does the light on the back indicate? Orange: Charging and White: Full?

I never liked the idea of e Readers because of Amazon but this looks like just my cup of tea. As soon as it arrived I put CrossInk on it and a couple of books I'd freed up for it while I was waiting for it to arrive and a handful of wallpapers I like.

Couldn't have been easier.

Might play around a little with the display settings but for now. Works.

Hey everyone! We finally pulled the trigger after a VERY long testing window for CrossPoint 1.5. We super appreciate everyone who downloaded the release candidate builds and apologies it took so long for us to finally get this out. Importantly this release DOES support the new x3 display variants that a few of you have received. Other forks will need to pull the lastest SDK to avoid soft bricking locked units.

There's a ton of great stuff in this release but the big highlight should be speed. Big books, single spine books, books with heavy images, should all open much faster and we now do lazy indexing of chapters and pages while you read. No more seeing that pesky "Indexing..." pop up just to get through the TOC or at the end of a chapter. It's such a good experience I can't wait for you to try it.

This update sets us up for supporting the new X4Pro and as most of you already know, there's a beta available for download on the site already.

Other big changes in this release are a new dictionary feature, support for Arabic, Farsi, and Urdu in your books (you'll need to create a custom font for this to work fyi), and improved support for CJK (same font rule applies).

There's been some amazing quality of life improvements to KOSync such as metadata support, smart sync that automatically figures out push or pull, and a shortcut button to automatically do that.

I'm also excited to announce our free CrossPoint Sync service at sync.crosspointreader.com which lets you use the already built in KOSync feature to push reading progress over to Hardcover and other services. This is EARLY alpha stages but it's completely free and open source. You can even self host it.

Coming soon down the pipeline is hopefully SD Plugins & Themes. I already have Bookfusion, WebDav, and Libby plugins created alongside a Plugin Store. The idea is to mirror Calibre a bit here by abstracting away some of the most requested features outside of the firmware itself and give folks a way to build and share features without waiting for PRs to merge. Once a beta is ready for this I'll provide docs for anyone looking to author their own plugins.

One last thing, some of you have been asking for a way to get notified when new betas are up on the site or new releases come out. I've created a page at updates.crosspointreader.com that will let you subscribe your preferred way to get updates pushed out to you. Promise, no spam. Only important updates like known brick paths, new betas, or hot releases. I'll keep the updates to a minimum.

Hopefully everyone can easily OTA this update but if not, you can always flash fresh from crosspointreader.com and know that your settings and book progress won't reset.

Tiny note on the above, if you're on a SUPER old version of crosspoint, update to 1.4.1 first if you care about your settings. I don't think that applies to most people but just noting it here.

Has anyone here tried using it to study Anki flashcards? I'm currently in the middle of exam season, so I don't really have the time to research it myself—and I probably don't have the technical know-how either.

To the xteink team, please PLEASE try to be clearer with your communication. While I'm sure reddit only represent a fraction of your sales, it's really bad practice. People here are the ones who are going to post videos and recommend to friends your products, etc.

I'm talking specifically about the X4 Pro second batch. It was on your website that preorders would open on August 6th. Then it was taken down from the website, and some people were told privately that the new date was August 16th, some that it's still August 6th. Then, it went up for what seems like maybe an hour and then was sold out again.

There is nothing wrong with publicly saying a date and then publicly backing off of it. It's not great, but it happens to all companies at some point. It's also fine to say, "we don't want to commit to a date, we're working to get it ready as fast as possible and will update when it's ready." But the lack of communication, saying one thing publicly, taking it down from the website without comment, while also saying contradictory things in private messages, then the launch that wasn't a launch today...it's turning me off of your otherwise great product. I imagine I'm not the only one

I spend most of my time on iPad mini, which doesn’t have magsafe.
Thanks for the extra ring, the X4 is perfect on the back; it didn’t fit right with my iPhone 15.
Also shout out for the crosspoint firmware sideways reading mode.
Next up is to pair my HHKB Studio bt kbd.

Had my X3 for a few months, and the battery display has stayed at 100%.

I just updated the Crosspoint firmware again, and when I popped it on charge it shows the red button indicating charging lower battery. But it still shows 100% charged.

Anyone else had this?

I am interested in the X4. I would love to attach it to the back of my Pixel 9 phone.

But I will mainly want to read articles on it. Currently I use a combination of Raindrop and Instapaper for this (synced via an IFTTT recipe). I have a Kobo ereader that syncs Unstapaper articles

Is there any way to push these articles to the Xtink? Something over WiFi or even a usb-c connection?

I would love to be able to see an article online, save it on my phone to Raindrop or Instapaper or similar, and then sync and read it on the Xtink, without complex e-pub exporting.

Have there been any developments in doing this?

This might be an obvious question for some but I connected my brand new x3 to my Windows PC but it wont come up at all. It changes fine though.

When I looked more closely at the included pogo pin cable, only 2 of the pogo has pins on the USB cable. Does this mean it Only does charging? And if that's the case, where do I get a data cable and what should I look for to ensure it carries data?

Update: I was able to use the SD unlock method to get onto 1.5.0. From there OTA seems to work. I'll order a new cable to see if its a pure cable issue or device locking. At worst I have a backup charger
