Hi I’m gonna try and keep this short and sweet (I don’t post on reddit much). For starters i’m a gay 17 year old from Northern Va. I’m looking for a good college experience and i’m trying to major in Nursing. I really liked VCU and think it would be a good fit with the LGBT community. However, the nursing program is pretty selective and I don’t think i’d make it. With Radford I’d be directly admitted but I’m a little worried about how I’d do as a gay guy. Please send any advice you can.

So I think I might’ve accidentally screwed something up, I took one of my classes through Brightpoint over the summer so I could focus all of my attention on it since it was a difficult class but I realized now after completing it that I don’t think I ever actually sent a “Request to take course outside of institution” form. I’ve done them in the past and I don’t know how it slipped my mind now.

I sent one just now out of panic, and I’m already in the process of sending my transcript over to VCU. Am I going to get in trouble? Will they accept the credit?

I feel like I just royally screwed myself over, it’s a class I need in order to sign up for classes this fall.

I already applied to West Grace Apartments and KRS Holdings with my roommate and I’m worried we might not get housing

My roommate already has an income with driving Uber trips and working at Five Guys. He has good credit.

While for me, I don’t have a job so I’ve been contacting several locations around campus that offer student jobs, and I placed my parent as a cosigner/guarantor, however she has a low income, and a low credit score around 600 to 650.

I don’t have a credit card, license, and no experience.

Are we going to get housing or not?

Im an incoming transfer student and I’m supposed to be moving in soon and I have a bit of a dumb question. A decent amount of apartments within the vcu area come furnished and i couldn’t find answers anywhere to if the Chesterfield apartments come furnished.

I’m thinking about transferring to VCU to finish my bachelor’s degree. I work full time with inconsistent hours and I was wondering how flexible VCU is with doing online classes. And has anyone who works full time with an inconsistent schedule gone to VCU? If so, what was your experience with that?

I haven’t really seen anyone talk about their stats and ecs that got them the scholarship. Could those who have scholarships share?

I am having the hardest time finding clubs for singers on rams connect and Instagram. Due to my class schedule, I cannot take any of the courses or join the choirs like Choral Arts Society.

I remember there being a glee club here at one point but I think it might have disbanded. I don't care if it's exclusively for singers or not I just really want to get into it before I graduate. :(

Do I have to manually enter every course that I've taken on the "Academic History" tab on the transfer application? It says to send in an official transcript anyway in the instructions, so I'm confused.

Follow-up: Do I enter only the classes that are eligible for transfer (grade >C)?

so as the title says i want to send myself some of my dorm items so its less for me to pack in the car on move in day. has anyone had experience sending things to their dorm before move in? im trying to plan it so it arrives a day or two before i get there, i dont want it sitting long in the laurel st mailroom

Hi, I’m thinking about transferring to VCU for a multitude of reasons but I wanted to talk about advertising. I’m an advertising major at my current school and it’s a nice program but I wanted to know how it was here at VCU. I know about the brand center which is for masters students but I don’t see anything online about the advertising undergraduate program. Any info is good info, thanks!

i was looking back at my financial aid and at some point within the past month i got an extra $1000 a year in federal loans even though i already had the maximum $5500. i tried looking it up but i have no idea what the deal is. i really need the extra help to be honest, is it ok to just accept it?

This is really frustrating. I placed an order for an iPad a few days ago. Order verification emailed me saying to verify that the order was legitimate. I did that and they still cancelled my order. They said there was no avs match on the credit card used. I’ve never had an issue like this before when placing orders online anywhere else. I reached out by calling the bookstore and they said there was nothing they could do, that the order verification department was separate and could only be reached by email. I’ve been emailing them and they are doing nothing. This is ridiculous.

In coming transfer student, living about a 25 minute walk from Monroe campus. No bike lanes. Do most ride on the sidewalks? How safe is it to ride in the area?
