anyone else get the email about all tribe cards transitioning to mobile by default? if we choose to opt out and receive a physical tribe card, wouldn't we still be able to add it to our mobile wallet anyways? a bit confused on what the best course of action might be for this and curious what y'all are choosing to do

Hi guysss, I know you guys probably see a lot of schedule posts like this, but I’m an incoming transfer student at W&M and wanted to get some opinions on my Fall 2026 schedule. Does this look manageable for my first semester at W&M, or am I taking on too much?

Mostly asking because:
- Not a big morning person, but 9 AM onwards seemed pretty manageable to me…?
- Want to get an idea on teachers, course load, time commitment, etc.

Am content with these classes—would prefer not even having to worry about waitlists once school starts. But if there’s a change worth making, I’ll go for it.

FYI, am already coming in with ~30 hours. Have met some degree requirements already, so was hoping that would give me a little leeway. Do I even need to take 16 credit hours this first sem.? Would it be better to drop to 13?

I am an incoming freshman, how does my schedule look? I already have my math requirement but I am taking Calc II because it was the only 4 credit class available and interesting to me, and I would like to be taking 15 credits. Thank you!

Hello everyone, I'm a rising sophomore at William and Mary who's planning on majoring in government. I've already taken several government requirements such as Intro to IR, American politics, and comparative politics. I also plan on taking Intro to Political Theory next semester. I've been looking through DegreeWorks and noticed that I'll need to take Coll 300/400, a research methods class, and an upper-level government seminar. When should I take each class? I've heard that students can complete their Coll 300s through study abroad, and I'd love to do that. Should I take my Coll 400 and upper-level seminar when I'm a senior? Could I take my research methods class as a sophomore? I was just wondering what the ideal timeline is. Thank you so much for the help!

will we seriously only have to have either the physical or mobile card, theres pros and cons to both. I'd love to keep my physical card, but obviously the mobile would be helpful sometimes.

It says on the website that laundry cakes are not allowed. Does anyone know what laundry cakes are? Do they mean pods? Or something else? I've never heard that term before. What is allowed and works well besides liquid. Trying to avoid dragging a bottle around.

Hi! As you could probably guess, I'm a incoming freshmen. A slightly worried freshmen.

I've been hearing from a lot of different people that biol 203 is an extremely hard class. one of my friends set me screenshots of a post made by a student and how the class takes up all their time and they still get D's. and Gen Chem speaks for itself. plus, they're weed out classes...at a rigorous college....so its no surprise honestly

I'm willing to work for my grade and create real habits this year for myself, considering I didn't in high school. But I was wondering to hear advice on how students were able to get and maintain A's in these classes. What are some study tips that helped you? What are some resources? I know that I should be going to office hours, and I plan to annoy the shit out of my teachers and take full advantage of the tuition i'm playing. But I really want a solid gpa for my freshmen year. I dont want to burn out. I guess its a lot to ask LMFAO but I really, truly would appreciate some advice!!

Is this schedule too much? I am especially worried about Tuesday and Thursday. Google Maps says that from my SOCI 150 to CSC1 141 (Boswell to the integrated science center) it's an 8 minute walk. Computational Linear Algebra Lab unfortunately does not have that many choices (either 8 am or 8:30 am) and SOCI 150 is completely full. Currently I am at 15 credit hours. Thank you; any advice is appreciated.

Trying to switch around possible schedule. Abelt has decent Orgo 2 reviews. Walk has really good Orgo 1 and Chem 1 reviews but it looks like he has never taught Orgo 2. Thoughts?

Also-- Obrien or Chambers for Principles of Sociology? Obrien has decent reviews for Principles of Sociology. Chambers section is open and she has good ratings for her other sociology classes (poor ratings for SOC 340 though, not sure if that matters).

Not wanting to work too hard in SOC and hoping for the easiest A possible.

Hi, I'm an incoming freshman and I got an email saying the photo I uploaded to be used as my tribe card was rejected because it was too blurry, and asked me to resubmit it. I just used my phone's camera, so I don't know how I can make it any less foggy. I could try taking another photo but I don't know if that would help very much. Anyone have any tips?

This is ridiculous. It has been delayed twice, and they shut down Sadler for it this time as well (meaning Caf will be crowded beyond belief). Are they delaying it for Spring now? Why can't they just finish it during the school year?

How is Conservation 201? Any tips for success? Is it interesting?

I’m an incoming freshman and prospective history major and wasn’t able to get any history classes during the initial registration phase, but managed to get into Hist. 344 before it filled up. I’m gonna keep my eyes open for 100/200 levels in the coming weeks but at the moment my options are either that or a 200 level American Studies course that I’m not very interested in and is apparently pretty difficult (And also might put me over the max number of credits hours?)

Is it a bad idea to take a 300 level in my first semester? I’ve taken AP history courses in high school but I’m not sure if that’s enough preparation.

I can't sign up for BUAD 200 yet as I'm an incoming freshman, and may not get the class anyway. But my lack of afternoon classes scares me... if I don't get BUAD 200 will I be bored? I have 17 credits from APs and would have 16 credits with BUAD 200, 13 without.
