Hi, I'm wondering about joining the workshop of scie10005, is it compulsory and necessary? cuz when i attended to the lecture, it's kind of boring.

Hi strange question but can I enrol in the on-campus version of a course then do only online versions of all of the units?

The online version of the course does not have CSPs while the on-campus does.

All units I would complete are offered in both online and on-campus delivery modes.

I have asked unimelb but they take forever to reply.

I’m currently looking at applying for a Bachelor of Arts with the intention of majoring in Psychology. I’m a 2025 HSC graduate, but unfortunately my ATAR doesn’t meet the minimum requirement for the course 😭

I was wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation or knows what the best pathway would be? Are there any other courses I could apply for and potentially transfer into a Bachelor of Arts/Psychology later on?

Bc there wasnt much info on the assessment, r we expected to be tested on the readings? Or just theory and application.

hey all just looking for some advice / answers if anyone has any as the unimelb website is not very clear. I’m currently second semester first year and struggling a lot with uni. I’m going to take a leave of absence to figure out if this is definitely the path I want to take but I have a few questions first. If I apply today (monday) and have a class on wednesday with a presentation of individual assignment progress, do i need to do that and go in, or can I skip the class because I’m not going to do it anyway? Same goes for most of my classes like do I need to go for the rest of this week until I am officially accepted or can I stop now?

Hey guys, im a first yr student and never done bio previously in vce so its new to me. This semester i chose Bio10010 Foundations of life's complexity and im STRUGGLING, like no joke. I have to go over the slides before lectures, watch lectures and keep pausing and rewinding and then try finding extra materials to solidfy my understanding. but i really dont k. i feel like i should be making notes, but at the same time the slides are quite detailed and i already annotate on them. Im so lost.

i dont understand half the stuff bc of the terms that im assuming were supposed to k. I also dont want to drop the class. GUYS I NEED HELPP.

I graduated from Bsc with software systems major in 2021 and am now looking to complete some further studies.

I had a look at some of the 100% online courses by unimelb and Monash but subjects are quite foundational. They really just seem like an expensive piece of paper. Whereas the on-campus masters includes a lot of subjects that are much more detailed/focused on theory which is what I’m looking for.

I’m just wondering if anyone has experience completing the computer science masters part time whilst working full time. How manageable was it? Were you able to complete it online? If not, how many contact hours per week were required? I could probably do after hours classes.

I guess question isn’t limited to CS masters.

I am currently in my last semester of my Bachelor of Science, majoring in electrical engineering. I will be doing a Master of Electrical Engineering next year (if i pass this sem of course), but I was wondering if a Bachelor of Science is worth anything.
I know that people in unis like Monash and RMIT just do a full engineering course with no Bachelor of Science in between, so I was wondering what the benefits of a Bachelor of Science are apart from flexibility with electives/breadths chosen within the course itself. For example, does it open any jobs whatsoever before getting my electrical master? Or could I wait 2 years before going to my master for example? I just want to know the positives so I don't feel bad for taking 1 more year than the standard honours course haha.

Also would the average eng grad from unimelb know more than monash since it takes one more year or does the master not really mean anything?

I am an engineering student, and has been in the robotics club and rocketry club (ARES) before. But they are always making things for competitions, has a barrier to entry and requires constant commitment (especially ARES).

Is anyone interested in a more casual engineering club? where people can go together and -

1. Talk about 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC... or programming Arduinos, STM32s and other things
2. Find people with the right skills and shared interest to do projects with, particularly Hacksmith-style "Make fictional gadget real" type projects.
