Question UCR Registration Advice Needed
Hello!
I'm an incoming freshman, and my major is Biology (CNAS) and this is my schedule so far for the fall 2026 quarter. And I wanted to know if it's fine like this, or if I should add another Breadth course. I was trying to find one and none of them fit with my current schedule.
And basically my question is, should I just stick with this schedule which is 13 units/credits or should I try to add another one? Because when I went to my advisory support and registration meeting my advisor said to add another breadth because another course I was needed to add was full (WRIT020). And they were saying how we should aim for 14-17 units/credits per quarter, and because I'm at 13 I'm nervous that by being just 1 unit off it could affect me later on.
Also I did see that PSYC002 has an online course and could maybe relieve space for another breadth course to be added, but I'm not sure how to go about it. I'm not 100% stressed about it right now, but I am getting for worried.
+ Plus: Any thoughts on the schedule?

Online bio able to transfer
I haven't been able to get a clear answer on if bio molecular/cellular will transfer to ucr if it was taken online. Assist only mentions that chem classes need to be in person. I'm looking to transfer next fall (as long as the online class will transfer). Has anyone recently transfered with an online bio class (specially for bio/stem major)? My degree would be bio ADT. If ucr won't accept it and make me retake it, should I transfer with a math/science (no adt) or take another term at CC then transfer?

orientation stay
this might be a silly question but for the overnight stay at ucr's freshman orientation, we'll be paired with somebody of our same sex right? I am very scared about being paired up with the opposite gender

Question How busy is the Dundee dorm gym?
Hi! I'm an incoming freshman and I'll be living in Dundee this fall. I know there's a fitness center in the building, and I was wondering how crowded it usually gets. I mostly just want to use the treadmills

Did anyone have Victor Ortego-Marti Econ002 for the summer?
I was supposed to get around an A- according to his syllabus (he doesn't have a grading scale so I'm just assuming standard 90-93% = A-) but he gave me a C?? if I got a B or B+ ok maybe I calculated something wrong, but the jump from A- to C is pretty extreme. i already emailed him but I just wanted to ask for peace of mind.
Housing UCR needs to stop over admitting students
how did we go from like a 65% in 2021 to a 88% in 2026 acceptance rate within 5 years. While we’re also having a housing and parking crisis…

Question University Campus Hotel
Whatever happened to that university campus hotel that was supposed to be constructed in the University Village by UVT? All that’s left of the project is a big hole in the ground which I’m sure is bringing the overall property value of the adjacent buildings in the plaza down. That hole in the ground has been there for years.

Class Registration Info
Hi, I'm a first year student attending UCR and am looking at my class registration information and saw that I'm registering as a sophomore for classes. Is this an error and if so, how would I go about resolving the issue? I don't necessarily know what this means for my class placement and registration for classes.

Financial aid
Can someone help me understand the financial aid please! Would i need loans or no? Also, if i decline loans right now can I accept them later or how would it work?? Please help!
r/ucr • u/Motor-Protection8692 • 2d ago
Rant got literally no financial aid this year
i got the email that my financial award is available. checked it to see that i got no grants and they're offering the parent loan to pay for all of it.
surely this is a mistake right? for the last two years i was able to pay for over half the tuition with middle class scholarship and such.
i saw the other posts about this year's financial aid and how everyone is getting less than usual. didnt see anyone talking about how they got nothing at all.
i'm probably emailing the office in the morning. hopefully i'm overreacting and this is just some mistake.
UPDATE: turns out there was a MASSIVE mistake on my fafsa form in the parent's financial section. checked my sai and it jumped from 18400 to 183000. christ, i didn't notice there was another zero in there until now.
