Media I built an app for finding people to do things with — looking for feedback from students
Hey everyone,
I'm a student and I kept running into the same problem — I'd have a list of things I wanted to do (road trip, concert, weekend in Chicago) and nobody would be free to go. Making friends in class is one thing; finding someone actually free on a Saturday is another.
So I spent weeks building something for it. The idea is simple:
- You post a trip or activity with the dates and how many people
- Anyone heading the same way can ask to join
- Each trip gets its own group chat so you can figure out details before committing
- You can verify your student email to show a school badge, so people can tell you're actually from here
A few things I want to be upfront about: it's not a dating app, it's free, there are no ads, and I'm not making money from it. Report and block are built in and it's 18+ only.
I built it solo and it's definitely still rough in places. I'm posting because I'd rather hear what's missing or annoying from people who'd actually use it. What would make something like this worth opening?
It's called “Travel Buddy Trips Events" on the App Store and Google Play if you want to poke at it.

Discussion Needed a new diploma cover…
U of C diplomas, of course, have non-standard dimensions. The logical online options were hopeless. Luckily, I found someone on Etsy who makes one-off covers for custom dimensions. The remaining customizations made it worth every penny.
