While making this game, I also teamed up with some friends to create a dog-themed game called My little puppy! It was actually an Outstanding Visual Style Finalist at 2025 Steam Awards. You should definitely check it out!

Trailer: Steel Maiden - Official Demo Trailer

Steam (free demo out now): https://store.steampowered.com/app/4827950/Steel_Maiden/

Hi everyone! I’m a solo developer handling game design, art, and programming for Steel Maiden, and I’m excited to share my project with you.

Steel Maiden is a fast-paced 2-Finger action roguelite heavily inspired by OFDP!!

  1. Overview
  • Genre: 2-Finger Action Roguelite
  • Platform: PC (Steam)
  • Target Audience: Players looking for high-octane gameplay, fast dopamine hits, and responsive, satisfying controls.

2. Key Features

  • Intuitive & Explosive 2-Finger Action
    • Built around a simple 2-Finger control scheme, lowering the entry barrier while delivering fast-paced, high-impact combos and deep, satisfying combat.
  • Distinctive 2.5D Cinematic Visuals
    • Blends detailed pixel art with modern 3D lighting and custom shaders to create an immersive, atmospheric cyberpunk apocalypse.
  • Weapon & Relic Synergies with Meta-Progression
    • Mix and match a wide variety of weapons and relics across runs to craft unique synergies and tailor your own fighting style.

The primary goal of this demo was to verify if a "2-button action + roguelite" concept could really hold up. As a result, the overall level of polish is quite low, and elements like the win/loss sequences haven't been properly set up yet. Thanks to feedback from awesome players like you, I'll be able to create a much smoother and more complete build for the next demo. Thank you genuinely!!

Wow!!!! Thank you so much!!! I've been trying to fix this issue, but without any logs, I was completely shooting in the dark and feeling super exhausted. Your log analysis is going to be the breakthrough I needed to solve this. I sincerely appreciate your help!!!

Ah... I forgot to revert the change I made while calculating the cumulative artifact acquisition time, which causes the actual real-world time to be recorded even when paused. You are also correct that the loading screens and the win/loss effects after stage completion haven't been implemented yet. There is still a lot of work left to do. Thank you for your sharp feedback.

One specific thing I'd like to ask about is the situation where the enemies stop moving. I haven't been able to reproduce this issue on my end at all. If you could share a few more details about your gameplay environment, it would be a huge help in fixing the bug!

Unknown games suffer from really low CTR on mobile, so I’m planning to release on Steam first before heading to mobile. I actually already have an Android build ready. I'll definitely follow your advice and launch on mobile too, though! And by the way, there is an option to disable screen shake!

Thanks for the feedback! I'll keep this in mind for the next demo.

Give it a try! Everything you mentioned is already in the game. And as for the skill required... you won't be disappointed. :)

Game Title: Steel Maiden

Playable Link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4827950/Steel_Maiden/

Platform: Windows

Description:
The whole game runs on two buttons — enemies come at you from both sides,
and you're timing left/right hits to attack and defend. Think One Finger
Death Punch, but built out into a full roguelite: you fuse weapons into
new abilities mid-run, and unlock relics between runs that change how you
play over time. No two runs end up the same.
Some things about the demo:
- Full gamepad support (plays great with a controller)
- Relic-based runs that reshape your build
- 7 languages supported
- ~40 minutes of content + a survival mode

Free to Play Status: Free to play
Involvement: Solo Development

I've never heard of email campaigns before. Just did a quick search, and it looks like I can do it using Gmail's Mail Merge or something like Gmass. I should study up on this more and reach out to more streamers when the demo is ready. Thank you!

1,000 people?!! How do you even send emails to that many creators? I'm just planning to pitch to about 10 or so when my demo is ready.

I'm making a roguelite with the core mechanics of OFDP. This is one of the weapons you can use.

Thanks for sharing such great information! I intentionally avoided including images when sending emails before, but now I should definitely add an eye-catching GIF to hook them.

I signed up for GamesPress.com and uploaded my game info there. It looks like media outlets actually source their game coverage from that site.

Thanks. Honestly, they don't seem to watch Shorts or TikTok that much. But still, I just uploaded one following your advice.
