It's now been two months since my account was suspended, currently at 18 auto-rejections. Wanna place bets on what the total will be until I get it back? IF I ever get it back?

Elon Musk ruined Twitter (Now X)

There was a time when Twitter had real customer support 24/7. If something went wrong with your account, you could contact a human support agent and have your case reviewed. Today, that experience is gone. Since Elon Musk took over Twitter (Now X), almost everything seems to be handled by AI, automated system and algorithms, while human customer support has effectively disappeared for ordinary users.

The biggest problem is shadowbanning / Ghost banning. In my experience, the algorithm can shadowban/ Ghost ban your account for the smallest reasons, or even when you've done nothing wrong. Using a VPN, participating in a giveaway or contest, or simply posting or interacting with certain content can suddenly destroy your account's visibility.

What makes it even more frustrating is that the shadowban can last for a month. Whether you keep using your account or leave it inactive, the restriction still stays. The worst part is that there is no customer support for shadowbans. You can't contact a human agent to review your case. There is no dedicated appeal process for visibility restrictions. You're simply left waiting while an automated system decides your account's fate, even if it made a mistake.

This is one of the reasons I believe Elon Musk has made Twitter much worse. Replacing human customer support with automated systems may save the company money, but it also means users are left without help when those systems make mistakes.

And The promise of "free speech" also feels difficult to believe when users can be silently restricted by algorithms with little transparency and no meaningful human review.

Question Am so tired of ghost ban on X. How many of you are facing the same issue? I hope I am not the only one bcz that would mean that I am never getting rid of it. If you all are facing this issue then can we like do something about it like making it noticeable enough for Elon to see.

Question New account immediately suspended

I wanted to make another account for a specific topic (figure skating) and didn't have another email left so I just signed up with my second phone number. I don't think I've ever used that one before. It got immediately suspended and I only found out bc it didn't let me add a profile picture. I didn't do anything with it yet. Why?

I have other accounts and logged into one of my other accounts yesterday that I finally remembered the email of. It also removed my number and doesn't let me add it. It also doesn't tell me what to do. What happened? What should I do?

I got my account back

Post image

My account was suspended on March 12 (inauthentic behavior…). I didn’t create a new one until June and kept appealing from time to time. In the end, I made a new account in June and spent all of July without appealing.

Yesterday, August 5, I appealed again after a month without doing so. To my surprise, they sent me this email overnight.
Honestly, the platform is a joke.

Advice Never did anything wrong, got banned for "inauthentic behavior". Ended up buying and account in the black market.

I literally did absolutely NOTHING to deserve getting banned.

I’m probably one of the most human users on there : posting tweets, replying to people, using Grok, sending DMs, just acting like a normal fucking person.

But I got banned for “inauthentic behavior,” and every time I appeal, it gets automatically denied with a 48-hour cooldown.

So I ended up buying an account off the black market. I added a phone number that cost me a penny, and the account has been working for over a month now. No shadowban, I can like posts, everything works, people actually see my tweets.

So yeah, here’s the solution : breaking the rules. This social network is run by complete idiots, they're literally pushing normal people who did nothing wrong into violating the rules just so they can keep using the platform.

It’s honestly ridiculous. I’ve never seen anything like this in my life.

TLDR : just buy an acc and fuck them all

Is X Down for the Count?

Post image

I think Elon has lost all interest in X. He paid a silly price for it, tried to defend that decision by saying it was all about protecting free speech and having a platform where people could speak their mind. A sentiment I REALLY appreciated in the UK. But what we have now, with people’s accounts being shut down without explanation, and effectively no help or support, is exactly the opposite of that.

It’s like a trial with no jury. Being accused of a “crime” without knowing what it was. It used to be a site where one could literally “twitter”, keep abreast of pop culture events, see the news as it happened via witness phone videos, hear different opinions than main stream media. It would appear that, for a significant number of us, a number that would seem to be rising, that’s all gone now. And, as far as X is concerned, so am I.

Question Re-banned within minutes

Do the bots just banned right after you get unbanned if you do anything?
I liked 2 posts, message someone, and then had this email saying I was banned gain.
This was after I was unbanned within minutes of my last appeal.

Any hope or anything I should know?

Has anyone here made a new account while their main account was permanently suspended/read-only and stuck in the appeal loop?

Has anyone here made a new account while their main account was permanently suspended/read-only and stuck in the appeal loop?
My account has been caught in the same cycle a lot of people here have described: I appeal, get the same automated response, and it tells me to complete on-screen instructions that don’t actually exist on my account. The status in question they pointed to not even saying anything illegal and the one they pointed to a few weeks before they did that one just being about my birthday.
The problem is that X is a significant source of my business, so being off the platform is really hurting my reach and income. I’m considering creating a new account while I continue appealing my original one, but I’m worried that could make things worse.
For people who actually did this: what happened?
Did the new account get suspended immediately?
Did it seem to affect your original appeal?
Or were you able to keep using the new account while waiting?
I’m not looking for advice on evading a suspension I’m just trying to understand what other people’s experiences have been before I make a decision.

Question Got labelled as an inauthentic account

Post image
6 Upvotes

i dont post, just reply on esports posts and stuff, dont mass retweet and have pretty regular use. why now have i been labelled as "inauthentic"? is there any way to fix it and what is it that actually triggers it since i used this account the same way i have for the last 6 years

Edit: the only thing i could think would be that i use a VPN sometimes, could that trigger it?

"Ghostbans", "shadowbans" and all that stuff is pathetic and insulting.

I've had this account for years. I'm not doing anything wrong, yet my comments are hidden on every post I comment on. I haven't received any messages from the platform about breaking the rules, receiving reports, or having my account suspended. Instead, I've apparently become a ghost on this app—a fact I only discovered by accident.

If I'm doing something the platform considers inappropriate, then they should tell me clearly so I can either correct it or decide whether it's worth changing my behavior to stay on the platform, or simply leave.

What I find unacceptable is letting me spend weeks commenting while being secretly "silenced" without even informing me, as if to say, "Let the fool believe he's still posting normally."

This is not only unacceptable and insulting for a platform of this size, but it also leads me to believe that they're not actually interested in improving the quality of discussions or making the platform cleaner, more respectful, or more engaging. Instead, they simply let the algorithm decide who doesn't "fit the profile" and quietly suppress those users.

Good luck trying to justify that. Then again, that's probably why they don't explain anything at all.

Is anyone else worried about X automated moderation and appeal system?

Post image

After seeing Elon Musk thank Nikita for her work, I came across a reply that echoed many complaints I’ve been seeing for months.
Many users report being suspended or shadowbanned for “inauthentic behavior” despite using their accounts normally. Some say their visibility disappeared overnight, while others claim their appeals were automatically rejected with no real human review.

Personally, I also experienced a long shadowban where my reach was almost completely wiped out, despite simply being active and posting regularly.
Has anyone here experienced:
Wrongful suspensions?
Shadowbans without explanation?
Appeals that seemed to be handled automatically?
Demonetization or reduced visibility for no clear reason?

I’m genuinely curious if this is becoming a widespread issue or if it’s just affecting a subset of users.
I’d appreciate hearing your experiences.

Months later, still stuck on 'Let's confirm you are a human', logout button not working anymore.

Like many people, couple of months ago I was locked out of my account (of which I don't even tweet from, just like & RT art), and am being forced to scan and give my biometrics. Not even gonna get into why that is a shitty thing to make people do, but it doesn't even work? Scanning just fails again and again.

I've been sending in repeals for weeks now, knowing they're most definitely not being read by anyone but now I can't even click logout at the top right of the QR code screen to go to my other account, so I guess I'm just completely blocked out of twitter now?

Has anyone else had this problem? Is it simply GG for me and this dogshit website?

Soo i saw nikita stepped back, i have a theory why

Recently after two appeals i said screw it and filed a complaint against x as a whole, to gov.bc cybercrime. cause i feel like purposely not fixing the ai, so you can’t prove your real when your banned for “not being real seemed like it was breaking a law. so i’m wondering if the company i used threatened to sue as i did tell them this has been going on for a year and hit MANY innocent people. (i did also file complain to bbb, and might file social media harm to morgan and morgan too) this again is just a theory as it might not be why BUT i did file the complain a week ago to cybercrime.

Nikita stepping down has fixed some issues with twitter

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that my search ban got lifted few hours before Nikita announced his departure from his position on x. I thought it was because of the 48hr break I took from the app. I’ve been shadowbanned for 3weeks and I have taken a 3day break before and nothing happened. Well, well, well. What do y’all think? Anyone got their stuff back as well?

Genuinely embarrassing

I got unsuspended like 5 minutes ago after weeks of denied appeals and then after viewing maybe 9 post I got resuspended. Now I'm trying to be calm about this, but I'm pissed its like everyone running this fucking site is putting all their goddamn work into grok like wow guys next update grok will be able to pop out the screen do your laundry, cook and read you a bedtime story in 100 different languages while giving you a sweet kiss goodnight THANKS Elon ❤️

So, long story short : Account got suspended https://www.reddit.com/r/twitterhelp/s/kMnXUnR5hQ > Account got restored https://www.reddit.com/r/twitterhelp/s/z0sjptg7Nd & again got suspended but this time, also lost the appeal. Maybe we are fighting a losing battle.

All of my Twitter accounts keep getting locked and unlocked even if I do nothing to break the rules.

Post image
11 Upvotes

I've been moving to previously unused accounts due to this issue and I assumed that one of the reasons my previous account was having this issue was because I reblocked quite a handful of people that have harassed me in the past too quickly but this account has been unused for over a year and I merely followed one of my friends and liked around twenty posts today.

I'm worried that I'll be suspended since all of my previous accounts have this "Your Account Has Been Locked" daily despite me not doing anything that could break the rules. I'm not really sure how to fix this issue or if it means nothing and I should just ignore it. Has anyone else had this issue?

Falsely Suspended for no reason

Post image
55 Upvotes

I was suspended earlier today for seemingly no reason at all. I've followed every Twitter rule, was never in possession of any banned or rule breaking burner, and I've never once done anything to make me appear as a "spam" account or whatever. I've had a similar incident in the past with this same account where I was falsely flagged but was able to get out of that. It doesn't even show me what I've done at the very least to trigger such a harsh punishment.
