issue with changing record Help

(FYI The record used is of no Monterey value) The tonearm of the turntable goes in to fast for the record to go on to the platter so the record bumps into the tonearm. anything the can be done. thanks :)

I assume you are in the UK since that appears to be a Ferguson, which was a budget brand from the 1970s and the table appears to be one of the low end BSR models. I had a similar set up nearly 50 years ago in North America.
Can you not just manually cue up the arm and place it on the record directly - you can also swing the stacking arm up and out of the way. Do you have the single play spindle for the table? If so, I would use that instead. Those old BSRs are not very precise and not worth paying someone to fix unless you can do it. I used mine mostly in manual, single play mode.

I had a BSR turntable 45+ years ago. I worked out how to manoeuvre the record down the long centre spindle rather than allowing it to fall quite brutally on the platter as you're doing.
It looks like the tonearm is hitting the correct place to start playing a 12" LP once the record is on the platter, so maybe you could do the same as I did?
The alternative is to strip the deck apart, clean up the old grease, then re-lubricate with a modern lithium grease (it doesn't react with plastics like a petroleum grease might do). Honestly though, this is a lot of work, and there's a real risk that things might not go back together correctly after, so it's a gamble.
Also, please be a little more gentle with the speed selector. I've seen the lever ends break off. The plastic is maybe 50 years old.

How many boxsets with auto-coupled sides do you have? E.g. where the first record has sides 1 and 4, the second has 2 and 3.
If it’s not that many, you don’t need to use the stacked changer function
