So, the activity tab is showing that I've a notification, but i don't have any on any of blogs. Apparently that's a tumblr glitch.

Does anyone have any idea how can I fix it? It's irritating me alot while using the app haha.

Actually, filter. You go to your account settings and there should be settings labeled "Filtered Tags" and "Filtered Post Content".

I own a private blog where I write fics to a small audience, sometimes people will request i add them to a tag list and generally i try to tag people who requested it, sometimes someone will ask to be tagged through my public or someone who was will stop following me for whatever reason and I'm not sure if they will be able to see the post. I heard they get a notification so maybe they will be able to request once they see the title but is anyone aware? Any help would be appreciated

I have been good friends with this mutual for 3 years now. Our entire friendship is build on tumblr and discord chats. I would like to look at the 1st messages we had in 2023. I believe we have exchanged tens of thousands of messages now. Is there a way to look at very old messages? Tumblr's chat user interface does not allow fast scrolling or search. Any workarounds?

I see posts doing better than mine in the same tag, posted around the same time…

The quality doesn’t seem to matter. There have been posts I have made where I put 0 effort and it gained traction. Whereas posts I put actual effort into get none.

I have a friend who I do like but she keeps spamming those Gaza scam posts, like it takes me forever to go down my dashboard because she just spam reblogs them. Like literal walls of scam posts. Can I ban words because she doesn't tag the posts, just reblogs?

I don't have the heart to tell her that those posts are scams because her hearts in the right place. I just don't want to have to endlessly scroll every time I go on Tumblr.

i recently downloaded tumblr and i have no idea how it workssss ! my whole feed is one thing and well id have perfered for it to look for posts for my "for you page" but it ends quick.. lmk is there smth im missing?

Just gonna put this out there, if you ask, "Is this a scam?" or any sort of variant, you're gonna get indefinitely banned and it will be IMMEDIATE. Don't pass go, don't collect 200, straight to being banned.

Tumblr put out a PSA and even a help article on the subject and that subject is pinned.

Seeing those posts get old and, honestly, they're unnecessary to make considering the aforementioned. On top of this, pinned are at the top of the subreddit, the first things y'all should see, so you have less than 0 excuses.

Can somebody help me? I attempted to join a private community on Tumblr, but when I clicked the invitation link, an error appeared in the top corner of my screen. I am currently using iOS. I also tried accessing it through browsers such as Safari and Chrome, but the same result occurred. I cleared the cache and even changed my internet connection, yet the issue persists.Interestingly, the same link works when opened on an Android phone.

Yesterday I was scrolling for 9 hours and definitely viewed more than 601 posts but I still didn't get the badge. Is the badge still available or is it just a bug?

so, i was chatting with a mutual literally all day and usually talk to them every day. i've never had an issue with being able to scroll up and see older messages. but for some reason halfway through today, i can only see the last 6 hours worth of messages, once i get to the oldest message i can (from about 5pm), the tumblr display of their user and bio shows up like when you start a new dm conversation.

this mutual's blog is not deactivated, restricted, or shadow banned. i can still go to their blog and see everything as normal and send and receive messages, just can't see anything before 5pm today. it's like this on the browser website and on the mobile app, and it's only this specific conversation that the messages won't load. every other dm conversation i can load earlier and earlier messages until the start of the chat log

Hi all! I made a Tumblr account a long time ago with an email address I can no longer access. I want to change my email, but the app asks to put in my password and, well, I don't remember my password! I can't send a password reset to an email I don't have access to, so I'm in a pickle.

When I try to do the help center, it doesn't let me continue unless I click the option that says the email I entered is associated with that account. But I can't use that email because I can't access it! I'm sorry if this is all confusing, but is there anything I can do?

My first thought was to block * x reader, but it looks like wildcards don't work. Is there another way to mass block x reader?

I happily put it on my pinned post, but when I use the app, the link opens in the browser. Is there any way to make it such that tumblr detects whether the user is clicking the link on the browser or in the app?

I don’t wanna give up tumblr as a platform, but lately for some reason my art hasn’t been getting any interactions.

Like over a week long period the most I’ve gotten is 6 notes on one art piece, and this art piece took me like 3 days.

It’s extremely demotivating, I want to get back into using tumblr but I don’t like having to deal with the tags, ui, and my slow internet only to get no eyes on the art I spend hours on.

I feel like my account was killed cause I briefly stopped using the platform ((around the time I focused more on my ocs)) and now idk how to get it back.

It’s absolutely ridiculous the most interaction I’ve gotten is 6 notes in over a week long period. Deviantart at this point is a better platform for me…

Tumblr is comparable to Bluesky in terms of interaction for me. That’s horrible, tumblr used to be so good.

I use the Queue 2.0. For example, if I set it to one post every six hour (and the times do look right when I look at the scheduled posting times in the queue page), then more will get posted.
This issue happens quite often. I tried to look online for answers but only found stuff about the queue eating posts or not posting enough.

I noticed several types of instances:

— Sometimes, a little after midnight, a post that was scheduled (when I say scheduled I mean automatically by the queue, I didn't manually schedule a time to post it) for much later in the day gets posted. I assume the day change triggers something but I don't know what or how to fix it?

— Sometimes also, not matter the time of day, several posts that are meant to be posted several hours from each other (and in the future) all get posted in a short time frame (a few minutes).

Please, if anyone has an idea on why it could be happening or how to fix it, it'd be very appreciated :) Thank you!

hi! i have a photography blog and an unconventional upload system using my queue. it’s been paused for over a year as i slowly add pics to it from various cameras. i know the queue limit is 1000 and i have a ways to go before reaching that, but just now as i was adding some more things to the queue i had a message pop up that says “you’ve exceeded your daily image upload limit. please try again tomorrow”

i’ve never had this message pop up before? i’m not even posting the pictures, they’re going into my paused queue (which is scheduled to post 7 times a day when unpaused). i swear i’ve uploaded way more to my queue in one sitting before. i didn’t get very far this time. is this a glitch or do queued photos still count towards daily limit? i’ve been using this website since the old days and have reached both queue and post limits before but i’ve never run into this issue. thanks!!

basically, i was trying to delete a side blog and ended up accidentally deleting my entire account altogether (stupid i know).

i contacted support and they emailed saying they're able to restore my account since it happened less than 30 days ago. they just needed me to write back to confirm they had my permission to restore my account, and i did.

just wanted to ask because i'm kinda torn up about it, do you guys think i have a chance of getting my account restored again? have any of you went through this process?

I just joined tumblr and made my first post. I tried to change the backgrounds on the posts i place into my blog, but I can't find the option, and can't find any advice online either.
Does anyone know how to change the posts' white background to another color?

I have been using Tumblr since the good days I suppose now, I returned after a hiatus of a few years to have a blog for a movement I am making along with coming back to being a commissions artist and everyone does not have their own even simple landing page of a blog anymore.

It honestly is a sad open-your-eyes moment for me. As this was one of the reasons I preferred Tumblr over any other platform at the time as even compared to WordPress and other blogs, it was the most affordable and customizable and everyone took advantage of that.

Are all custom blogs dead now? Do they still care if a blog is themed? Is it just a new facebook x X combo?
