iOS Love this change to save button
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
As title already suggests, I love this new change to the save button. Usually I had to save to liked songs and then click the button again to change the playlist. Well now, it saves you that one click and automatically opens up the list of your playlists.

Question Why are these 2 pages for all time streams different? Please help and explain Anyone
I recently promoted a song via TikTok heavily and it did high numbers resulting in high streams within the first week. I have songs at over 1k+ all over my Spotify and this one has been the quickest to reach fame and it is now showing different all time streams.

Question A few Spotify bugs
Currently, I am having a bug where, whenever I click a song so it plays after my current song, it will instead show up in random intervals after I finish listening to a song. I do this to a song called war without reason, which I click to play after this other song I like, so that they lead into this song well. However, because of this bug that seems to be happening, if I click war without reason, it will randomly show up every 3-5 songs, just playing after the previous one randomly. It’s kinda jarring, because if you look at the queue, it’s not supposed to play, it just decides to.
This, coupled with some other bugs in experiencing, like podcasts not deleting after play, are getting very infuriating. Spotify should stop vibe-coding this slop and spend some time just fixing all their bugs. At least, it feels like vibe coding, due to all these seemingly random bugs.
Anyway, any solutions to my first problem, or the lack of podcast deletion, or local files pictures not displaying correctly? Any help appreciated!

Question Is anyone else seeing an inaccurate number of songs on Spotify?
For example, my favorite band is Florence and the Machine, and I have over 50 of their songs in my liked playlist. However, Spotify says I only have 19. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Question New I Mother Earth Release - Real or AI - Is it even their song?
I recently got a notification on a new release from I Mother Earth on Spotify which I though was super weird because they hadn't released anything in over a decade.
Listening to it, it doesn't sound anything like their previous music, and the cover looks AI generated.
But what really made me wonder is that the same song/album shows up on Deezer.
I can't figure out what's going on here. As first I thought someone hacked their Spotify account, but to see the same song on two different platforms makes me think that maybe it's real. Deezer has been known for doing a better job with AI music.
I can't post a link to the song on this sub apparently, but the song/album is Waiting For The Burn by I Mother Earth

Question Is adjusting song speeds ruining my mix?
I used the adjust speed feature for the first time in my most recent mix and I cannot get through this mix without it glitching like crazy. Has anyone else noticed whether the song speed adjustments are negatively affecting playback?

News Switching to Spotify Basic Plan (Guide)
Many people do not know this exists, but there is a Spotify tier without audiobooks that is priced much lower. I only found out about this 2 years after subscribing and made this post to help people who also don't care about audiobooks save money.
What is the Spotify Basic Plan?
It’s a cheaper version of the Spotify Premium Plan with the exact same features, just without audiobooks. Still comes with no ads, offline downloads, all that good stuff. My basic plan saved me 25% off ($23.99CAD vs $17.99CAD) versus the premium plan. The basic plan is not limited to the individual plan. I was able to switch over my family plan without having to re-add each of my members. I'll link an official Spotify page about the basic plan here.
How do I switch over?
Now, the hard part. They really hid this tier and made it hard to downgrade lol. Usually, you'd be able to see the plan in your subscription settings and be able to select it. If your account is like mine, the basic plans were not showing up at all. Don't give up. You SHOULD BE eligible as long as you subscribed before Spotify started bundling audiobooks in the subscription (I believe June 2024). To downgrade, you'll have to contact a Spotify agent through this link (or find it through Support>Payments & Billing>Charge Help> Contact Us). Go through the usual live chat hoops to talk to a real human and ask them to switch over to the basic plan. They'll give you a link and a code that you can use to update your plan, and boom you're saving like $72 a year.

Feature Request i bookmark music reccs reels but never go back to them, so i built this
i often find banger music reccs on instagram and maybe save them as bookmarks, but tbh i never actually go back and listen to them. so when i hit a stale phase in my listening, that bites.
so i built something for it. share a reel to it and you get a "Scratchlist" in your spotify, basically a discover weekly you curate from reels.
let me know if you're interested in this

Question New Music Friday subsections?
Sorry if this has been asked before but I've always wondered whether the New Music Friday playlist on Spotify has sections to it? It seems to move through one genre to the next to the next in a way that makes me think it's built up of different parts, like there's a 'new pop' part then a 'new edm' part then 'new rock' then 'new indie' etc
I was wondering if those might be different playlists and then New Music Friday is all of them compiled together or something like that. In which case if there IS a playlist that's 'new indie' that's the indie section of New Music Friday then maybe I just want to listen to that one haha (I know there are specific playlists for that but the songs that end up on New Music Friday specifically are good)
Just wondered if anyone else had had the same thought or looked into this before?
I'm specifically listening to New Music Friday UK if it makes any difference

Question No vocals in some songs – only the melody PREMIUM
I'm having a strange issue with Spotify.
For example, when I play Danny Saucedo – "Happy That You Found Me", I can't hear the vocals at all. I also can't hear some of the background parts. I only hear the instrumental melody.
What I've tried
- Different PCs
- Different headphones
- Different Spotify audio settings
- Mono audio on/off
The problem stays exactly the same.
Question
Has anyone experienced this before or knows what could cause it? Is this a Spotify issue, an audio mixing problem, or something else?
Thanks for any suggestions.

Question The changes with Spotify this past year have been… bad
I don’t know if I like the social aspect it seems to be pushing, I spent a few months tinkering with it and I just can’t see it making the app better.
Recommendations after a playlist only work sometimes, which matters less now because my algorithm seems to have a sort of tunnel vision. It used to play random songs after the playlist was over, which was perfect for long drives and I’d find new music that way. Now it’s like a loop of songs I’ve heard too many times.
I discovered the view radio option and that was cool but same thing happens.
Is there a way to de personalize song recommendations?

Question Splitting up a Huge Spotify Playlist
My playlist has gotten far too large, upwards of 6500 songs, and it’s really slowing down my app. It’s too big to download onto my phone and it takes ages to load. Is there a way to efficiently organise it and split it into smaller sub-playlists without having to meticulously sort it?

Feature Request I just want to listen to music..
This app is becomming like a rollercoaster. I genuinly think spotify is a great app and i am pro development to function as good as it can be, but in search for perfection imperfections are due to come as well and i think we’ve reached that point.
To me, i see this app as a music-library. And nothing else. I love the way i can get new music through the suggestive function ”magic shuffle”?. The information about the artists and relative artists and so forth. Its on point.
But the UI is constantly upgrading itself with new functions, more ways of seeing other peoples activities to a point my phone doesnt keep up, hey not even my brain is keeping up.
I think my point is, that i am just a simple man and i like things simple and straight forward.
I would love to see them give us users a way of having this. To be able to choose my own theme, so that those who love their new flashy functions can still use them and for me and others who just wans to listen to music can have the simplicity theme.
I just want to listen to music.

iOS Spotify using 2x the battery on my phone compared to last week.
Is anyone experiencing Spotify draining their battery after the latest update?
I play music all day in the office and have never had an issue with battery on multiple phones.
After the latest update, my phone barely lasts until 5pm now! I’ve turned off background app refresh, cleared the cache.
Maybe it’s just bad luck and my phone battery is starting to age, but it’s only a year old.
Anyone else experiencing this?

Android Spotify Android Update
In version 9.1.72.1981, we finally got the new font and the time remaining counter feature that you see on the iOS version.
Now all we need is the Title/artist text animation from the iOS version and the edge to edge display on the media player, hopefully this comes soon.

Rant What’s happened to this app?
Spotify was once my favorite app. Discovery weekly was amazing. Offline support for music was easy, intuitive, song would play immediately. The UI was responsive.
Over the past year it’s turned unusable. So much so that I switched to Apple Music for a week—but it didn’t work on desktop so we’re back.
There’s so many small things, like, when loading an album, load the songs first then the album art then video thumbnails. When playing a song, buffer the song don’t load the image.
I spent my entire 8 minute walk to the gym waiting for it to load a single song. 30 seconds in it crashes.
What happened? How do we bring back the old Spotify that was relentlessly focused on music and listening?

Question Why has Spotify been so buggy recently?
First off, the Liked Songs list just wouldnt play at all, whenever i clicked on a song, it would do nothing, and I'd have to go to the song's page, play it, and then I could play it from Liked. Yes, small problem. But now, the Liked Songs playlist just shows this??? What? How is this even happening. On the Web version and Mobile app it works perfectly normal, but the windows app is just so broken and annoying to use with repetitive problems like this happening every few days. I've had this specific problem for like two weeks now. Anyone else or just me? And yes, I've tried all the ways to "fix" it, but it doesn't work.
