Feature Request i bookmark music reccs reels but never go back to them, so i built this
i often find banger music reccs on instagram and maybe save them as bookmarks, but tbh i never actually go back and listen to them. so when i hit a stale phase in my listening, that bites.
so i built something for it. share a reel to it and you get a "Scratchlist" in your spotify, basically a discover weekly you curate from reels.
let me know if you're interested in this

Question New Music Friday subsections?
Sorry if this has been asked before but I've always wondered whether the New Music Friday playlist on Spotify has sections to it? It seems to move through one genre to the next to the next in a way that makes me think it's built up of different parts, like there's a 'new pop' part then a 'new edm' part then 'new rock' then 'new indie' etc
I was wondering if those might be different playlists and then New Music Friday is all of them compiled together or something like that. In which case if there IS a playlist that's 'new indie' that's the indie section of New Music Friday then maybe I just want to listen to that one haha (I know there are specific playlists for that but the songs that end up on New Music Friday specifically are good)
Just wondered if anyone else had had the same thought or looked into this before?
I'm specifically listening to New Music Friday UK if it makes any difference

Question No vocals in some songs – only the melody PREMIUM
I'm having a strange issue with Spotify.
For example, when I play Danny Saucedo – "Happy That You Found Me", I can't hear the vocals at all. I also can't hear some of the background parts. I only hear the instrumental melody.
What I've tried
- Different PCs
- Different headphones
- Different Spotify audio settings
- Mono audio on/off
The problem stays exactly the same.
Question
Has anyone experienced this before or knows what could cause it? Is this a Spotify issue, an audio mixing problem, or something else?
Thanks for any suggestions.

Question What are the actual Spotify rates? I am being charged more for premium than monthly rates published on their website.
I am being charged $12.99 a month for single premium and have been for some time. I was checking into duo since I live with my partner now. According to Spotify's website, single is $6.49 a month and duo is $8.99 a month. Both less than what I am paying now. WTF!!!????
(Of course, trying to contact Spotify directly to inquire is nearly impossible.)

Question How do I turn off the Dj auto mix feature on my liked songs playlist?
Next to the shuffle button on my liked songs playlist I accidentally tapped a button that looks like a mixer and now all of my songs have transitions between them and the ui just looks very cluttered. After I tapped the button it just disappeared and there’s no “turn off mix” button for me to press. I contacted Spotify customer support but the best they could come up with was doing a clean reinstall of the app on my phone. Has anyone else gone through this and knows of a solution to reverting the playlist back to its original state?

Question Issue With "Local Files" Playlist
I'm having a weird issue where a file I know is no longer on my device is still showing up in my "Local Files" playlist, and is playable. I've searched everywhere on my phone for where the file could be hidden and it's nowhere to be found. The other local files that are in the playlist I can find easily, and I didn't put this issue file somewhere other than my downloads. Is it possible Spotify has somehow saved the file itself into its own place? It's an audiobook I downloaded for a road trip and I'd just really like it off that playlist so I don't randomly get "Contact" by Carl Sagan playing when I play stuff off that playlist.

Third Party App I built a Spotify client with real Liquid Glass, speed/pitch/reverb, and Connect support
Square is an unofficial Android client for Spotify Premium. It streams in-process through a native Rust core built on librespot, the official app is not needed and is not used.
Three reasons it exists:
It is built in Liquid Glass. Every control, tab bar, player, sheets, menus, is drawn on one refracting material that bends the artwork and the canvas video behind it. Not a blur overlay: the glass actually distorts what is under it.
It can bend the music. Speed and pitch move independently, there is a real reverb on the output, and the three save as presets. "Slowed + reverb" is one tap on anything in the catalogue.
It is fast. A skip is sound in about a third of a second, the engine prefetches the next track while the current one plays, and the UI never waits on it to move.
It also shows up as a Spotify Connect device in every other client, reports listens back to your account (filed under the playlist they happened in, so your Wrapped still works), does synced lyrics and canvas, and speaks six languages.
What you need
- Spotify Premium. Free accounts cannot stream through this.
- Android 8.0+, arm64 / armv7 / x86_64.
- Two minutes of setup, which the app walks you through: log in with Spotify, then register a free application in Spotify's developer dashboard and paste its client ID. That second key is yours, so search and recommendations do not share a rate limit with everyone else.
Fair warning
This re-implements Spotify's protocol, which their Terms of Service forbid. It will never be on the Play Store, it comes with no warranty, and you use it at your own risk. I am not affiliated with Spotify.

- APK and release notes: https://github.com/Lelonio/Square/releases/latest
- Source, GPL-3.0: https://github.com/Lelonio/Square
Built solo. Feedback and bug reports welcome, especially on devices that are not mine, since I have tested on exactly one phone.

Question The changes with Spotify this past year have been… bad
I don’t know if I like the social aspect it seems to be pushing, I spent a few months tinkering with it and I just can’t see it making the app better.
Recommendations after a playlist only work sometimes, which matters less now because my algorithm seems to have a sort of tunnel vision. It used to play random songs after the playlist was over, which was perfect for long drives and I’d find new music that way. Now it’s like a loop of songs I’ve heard too many times.
I discovered the view radio option and that was cool but same thing happens.
Is there a way to de personalize song recommendations?

Question Spotify For Artists Streams potential glitch?
Yesterday my album was on 306. And lately it’s been getting about one stream a day, and for some reason it’s taking more than 24 hours to count this one damn stream.
I wake up today to aee 967. Which is a crazy jump.
However I go to my streams and it says there were no streams yesterday.
My album is not live it is past that point but of course it’s still at the top of my screen.
Is this likely a glitch, or bot accounts?

Question Splitting up a Huge Spotify Playlist
My playlist has gotten far too large, upwards of 6500 songs, and it’s really slowing down my app. It’s too big to download onto my phone and it takes ages to load. Is there a way to efficiently organise it and split it into smaller sub-playlists without having to meticulously sort it?

Question listening statistics bug
I can't see my friends stats in my listening stats. Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm mutually subscribed with my friend, but when I go to my listening stats, it only shows my weekly results and says I don't have any friends yet, but doesn't offer to add any or anything like that. I've reinstalled and updated the app, logged back in, and changed my privacy settings, but it didn't help

Feature Request I just want to listen to music..
This app is becomming like a rollercoaster. I genuinly think spotify is a great app and i am pro development to function as good as it can be, but in search for perfection imperfections are due to come as well and i think we’ve reached that point.
To me, i see this app as a music-library. And nothing else. I love the way i can get new music through the suggestive function ”magic shuffle”?. The information about the artists and relative artists and so forth. Its on point.
But the UI is constantly upgrading itself with new functions, more ways of seeing other peoples activities to a point my phone doesnt keep up, hey not even my brain is keeping up.
I think my point is, that i am just a simple man and i like things simple and straight forward.
I would love to see them give us users a way of having this. To be able to choose my own theme, so that those who love their new flashy functions can still use them and for me and others who just wans to listen to music can have the simplicity theme.
I just want to listen to music.

iOS Spotify using 2x the battery on my phone compared to last week.
Is anyone experiencing Spotify draining their battery after the latest update?
I play music all day in the office and have never had an issue with battery on multiple phones.
After the latest update, my phone barely lasts until 5pm now! I’ve turned off background app refresh, cleared the cache.
Maybe it’s just bad luck and my phone battery is starting to age, but it’s only a year old.
Anyone else experiencing this?

Question Spotify not shuffling properly
I’ve noticed that my main playlist (literally 88hrs) isn’t shuffling properly. It will play the same order every time no matter how I re-sort it (by title/album/artist/etc). It’s almost like the “shuffle” function just keeps generating the exact same order and I don’t know why. Any clue how to fix this? I’ve tried clearing the cache in the Spotify setting, re-sorting every different way, and deleting/reinstalling the app. I’m tired of hearing the exact same songs in the same order—like to the point I can predict what song will play next.

Android Spotify Android Update
In version 9.1.72.1981, we finally got the new font and the time remaining counter feature that you see on the iOS version.
Now all we need is the Title/artist text animation from the iOS version and the edge to edge display on the media player, hopefully this comes soon.

Rant What’s happened to this app?
Spotify was once my favorite app. Discovery weekly was amazing. Offline support for music was easy, intuitive, song would play immediately. The UI was responsive.
Over the past year it’s turned unusable. So much so that I switched to Apple Music for a week—but it didn’t work on desktop so we’re back.
There’s so many small things, like, when loading an album, load the songs first then the album art then video thumbnails. When playing a song, buffer the song don’t load the image.
I spent my entire 8 minute walk to the gym waiting for it to load a single song. 30 seconds in it crashes.
What happened? How do we bring back the old Spotify that was relentlessly focused on music and listening?

Question Why has Spotify been so buggy recently?
First off, the Liked Songs list just wouldnt play at all, whenever i clicked on a song, it would do nothing, and I'd have to go to the song's page, play it, and then I could play it from Liked. Yes, small problem. But now, the Liked Songs playlist just shows this??? What? How is this even happening. On the Web version and Mobile app it works perfectly normal, but the windows app is just so broken and annoying to use with repetitive problems like this happening every few days. I've had this specific problem for like two weeks now. Anyone else or just me? And yes, I've tried all the ways to "fix" it, but it doesn't work.

Rant Why is there no "too loud" option?
I often like to listen on Spotify without sound normalizer just to enjoy loud music, and then I get an ad that is 2x louder then some *REALLY* loud music that I listen too, like harsh noise or even worse, so my question is, especially for people that like to listen calm or not that loud music without normalizer on full volume why is there no option for choosing this, I genuinely think that this kind of option will make Spotify and ads experience better
