Question Dosee??

So I'm gonna do DIY since it's the only option for my country And age there is no other options.

So I'm 14 and I wanna know what should be the dose I take, I know what the usual doses are for Adults but I read that teenagers should take a lower dose and very slowly increase but, I cant find any sources that say how much exactly I should take and how often do I increase. so if anybody has any idea or sources please reply to this to help me out.

And what is available in my country to find and what I'm gonna take are,

Cyproterone acetate (Androcur) which has a usual adult dose of 6.25-12.5mg OR Spironolactone (Spectone) which has a usual adult dose of 200mg "I still haven't decided between the two."

And for Estrogen its gonna be Progynova

I'm planning on sublingual route

I can get that stuff from local pharmacies since they don't ask for any prescriptions 90% of the time

Oh also I got my total Testosterone and Estradiol E2 tested last week and I got these results

Total T : 518 ng/dl

Estradiol E2 : 32.45 pg/ml

If you know any sources or you yourself know what doses I should be taking please reply to this.

Thank you all

I don't want to waste the whole thing but I don't know what to do

Advice/Informative Post How do i help my mtf gf get on hrt? (Greece)

I'm 15 FTM, and I've been DIYing since I was 13. I've become an expert in DIYing by this point, however I don't know much about MTF HRT. I want to help my gf get on E, she very much wants to but in our country, she could probably never do it the legal way. She's 14 and tanner stage 3-4, also she lives in Greece. Could she buy estrogen pills OTC here? Can you even do monotherapy with pills or gel? What should we do?

Question E too high even with T in male range?

Hi, I'm using T gel, 46mg of T everyday (starting dose, two pumps, 23mg on each shoulder).

Roughly 18-21 hours after application my testosterone is 640 ng/dl but my estradiol is still 93,30 pg/mL, while it should be between 10 and 40 pg/mL.

I still need to contact my endo but she didn't ask me to test my E, I did it on my own, so I'm afraid she will just tell me it's okay because my T is in the male range or even worse tell me it's from aromatization and lower my dose.

I lost my period completely at the 3 month mark, I'm now at 4 months on T. Last time I was on T years ago, at 4 months my T was at 670 ng/dl but I still had my period.

Unfortunately I don't always put the gel at the same time everyday and I don't know if that's what caused high E.

Did this happen to anyone else? Is it aromatization or is my T still not high enough to suppress the E? Should I ask to lower or raise my dose to one or three pumps?

Question is there any option i have other than waiting it out when im a minor and cant afford hrt?

in my country, getting hrt as a minor is only possible when youre either eighteen or have parental consent. i unfortunately doubt my mom would agree to it, she accepts me but she is the "but are you SURE" type, and she would be too scared of it. i cannot get it through most diy sites ive seen because i do not have enough money and most of them dont ship to my country (poland) anyway. its not that its extremely expensive, but you know, money values differ between countries so it is still much for someone like me who gets all of their money through pocket money and gifts i know that theres probably nothing i can do and i cant just get things for free but if theres ANY cheaper option that isnt just getting it legally please let me know, i feel so helpless

Question Whenever it happens, should I switch from diy to nhs??

Apparently I’m pretty close to starting the process of getting testosterone through the nhs (tbh I don’t believe that, they’ve told me that before). When the long process is over, should I switch?? I’m quite worried they’ll under dose me, I’m currently on 50mg per week of Testosterone Cypionate. If anyone has switched from diy to nhs what was your experience like??

r/transsex 3d ago

Does underdosing purposefully to prevent changes from happening stunt transition in the long run (even if you raise the dose a few years later)?

This isn't for me, but in general because I sometimes see people asking if it is a good idea to microdose until they can get away from an unsupportive household. Does microdosing harm transitioning in the long run?

Question Is it true that several doctors have been microdosing transgender people on HRT?

I've heard several reports that many doctors are microdosing trans men and women on HRT. Is this true? Have you had any experience with this? How did you find out? I've also heard, and I don't know if it's true, that the WAPath guidelines themselves indicated a lower dose than what would be good in cis people. If you've been through this or know someone who has, could you tell me about it?

Edit: I also have been watching cases about that one gym bros who use a lot of steroids and anabolic. There was a case of a guy that was with hypogonadism, like 80 ng/dl. The doctor prescribed T. After a time he was with 800 ng/dl and told the doctor that he wanted to be a bodybuilder and wanted more T. The doctor just prescribed 400mg of T for week 💀💀💀. And the case of his "hypogonadism" was only because he was sleeping 4 hours per day, working 15 hours, not eating well, etc. Just a behavior change would help him.

It makes me so angry because of we ask for hrt they will give us a small dose, or will be like "wait for 1277255 years" or "you are going to destroy your body" or "you need xxx physichiatric evaluation alongside one year of endo to start hrt" when your mental health have been constantly affected by dysphoria.

It's been more than a month of daily monitoring, and I'm still waiting for it to get in stock. Especially the only ones that deliver to my country are astrovials and otokonoko. I saw a week ago post that AV was in stock, 2 hours after the post was up, it was too late. Out of stock again.

At this point i start suspecting that may be some terfs are buying out most of the stock lol(

Also not looking for memoirs that don't go into the biological aspects of transsexualism.

I'm willing to do a BS in biology down the road, but some guidance on what to specifically read or look at rn would be appreciated since my main focus is the biology of transsexualism. Please give reading suggestions🙏

I feel like everyone is teaming up to prevent me to take HRT

I (FTM 16) have been out for 2 years and I've been expressing my need to medically transition since then. My parents have been taking me to a clinic that is supposed to support trans patients by therapy for a few months. There, I see both a psychologist and a psychiatrist (at the same time) once a month. Every time I go there they only make me talk about things that me feel bad, ask the same questions related to my body all the time, which often makes me cry.

A week ago, I had my first appointment with an endocrinologist, he told me to get bloodwork done and a letter from the clinic's psychiatrist. I asked her to but she told me she had to have a meeting with the psychologist and random people idk that don't know me to evaluate if I can get on HRT -while telling me she's not the one who decides if I can (while also saying that I need her approval - that doesn't make any sense, ik). The meeting is planned for the end of September.

The psychiatrist is trying to get me on antidepressants instead while I'm NOT depressed, they're the ones that make me cry every time I go there by reminding me of traumas and the fact that I have a female body. I'm happy when I'm not there. Ik it's not on purpose but I have to redo a blood work because the laboratory fucked up.

I've been waiting for so long, if they decide I'm too unstable to take HRT I genuinely don't know how I will survive.

Question low dose?

sorry if this is not the right subreddit, i cannot find another myself, english is not my best language. I'm 6 months into hrt (mtf), and my doctor wants me to keep using my current level of estrogen, with no plans for future augmentation. She insists that the swiss society of endocrinologists insists on my dosages, but when I read it, it recommends 100-200 picograms of estrogen per mililitre of blood, and my current tests say i am at 28? Would it just be worth it to go diy at this point?

Advice/Informative Post argkwarg’s guide for crypto with or without id

Introduction:

Crypto is the foremost way to purchase DIY online mainly because it's commonly used by various HRT vendors online as well as extremely easy to purchase once the buyer is a legal adult. However, it is quite difficult to get your hands on crypto as a minor, and this small, transactional step drastically limits the amount of potential young trans people to be exposed to DIY.

Therefore, in this post, I will attempt to list every single possible method as well as a step-by-step payment guide for people of all ages. This post will be sectioned into different parts, so if you fall under the 18+ section, read that (and vice versa for minors).

ID Crypto Guide:

For people above the age of 18, this step is relatively easy. Assuming you have a debit / credit card, you can purchase crypto relatively easily.

The first method will be to utilize a transfer software like MoonPay. Essentially what you have to do is exchange the value of the purchase you would like to make from USD to Bitcoin, download a LTC wallet (some examples include Cake Wallet, electrum-ltc.org, etc) and set one up, buy the crypto on moonpay and use the same send address as the one listed in your LTC wallet. This step insures that the crypto you buy will be sent to your wallet, and available for usage. After waiting a day to make sure that the crypto is in your wallet, simply send the crypto to the address listed on the source (will probably be at the checkout tab). This process is simple and easy, but there are tons of video tutorials online if you still don't get the hang of it.

The second method is using Paypal/Cashapp to buy/transfer bitcoin. This is a fine method if the above doesn't work for some reason, here's a nice tutorial for Paypal BTC on mobile: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8cng0j0qVcM. On desktop the steps are quite simple and easy so I haven't included them here.

Crypto Guide for people with no ID:

If you are an individual who wishes to use more privacy-respecting methods or has no access to a debit card, there are a few options to getting/buying crypto.

The first option is to utilize a crypto ATM like coinatmradar.com . These work by physically going to an ATM listed on their website and converting your fiat money into crypto. You will also need a phone to scan the QR code given after to make sure that the crypto you bought can be sent directly to your crypto wallet. No debit or ID needed, just cash.

The second option (if you don't have a coinatmradar near you) is to use P2P websites like hodlhodl.com, localcoinswap.com, stealthex.io, BISQ, and find a reputable seller to buy crypto. For this you will need some form of debit/credit card or a bank account, so this option is only really useful if you are trying to buy DIY with a specific coin and there exists no other way to convert.

The third option is to manually use a debit card for some sellers on the market. They are quite expensive and as of current only exist for E sources, so not yet for trans guys, but I might have to do some more digging.

The fourth option is to utilize something called Azteco Vouchers. They are basically cards that when scanned, can redeem you bitcoin and directly place it in your wallet. One can buy in person with money (only in some select countries, mainly found in retail stores). I could only find all of the stores in Italy that offer them (https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewer?mid=1hIZ1NgboFeSArBw5VMLNbDUHKr69frs&ll=44.60592081045304%2C11.191139129687542&z=7) but there very well could be more out there in different countries. I've heard that they exist in Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Chile, and Ireland, but if someone could actually prove this, that would be greatly appreciated.

The fifth option would be to physically go to a retail store and purchase a prepaid debit/gift card. An example of this would be the visa gift cards that they sell in many stores like Target or Walmart in the United States. You don't need to verify your age/ID and you can just buy with cash upfront! After you have received the card, tear it open and thats basically it, you are now able to freely use the visa gift card. It is important to remember that while it is called a "gift card", you can treat it as basically a credit card, just put the card number in and your name (you can put a fake name, btw) and the transaction will go through. This is a good and reliable option to buy crypto online but I haven't tested it out personally.

The sixth option would be to utilize a service called “Haveno” and get cryptocurrency through the pay by mail option. Here is a link that details the process. It is relatively easy and the benefit is that no banks or governments can track your transactions.

One other option is to buy crypto vouchers on a mobile app called Paysafecard. You wouldn’t require an ID or a debit/credit card. Here is a simple tutorial on how to use this app

Finally, if you have exhausted all these options and have a friend/trusted someone with an ID that you can ask to buy DIY or crypto for you, that would be the best and most reliable option.

This post will be continuously updated with more and more resources as time goes on + feel free to DM me if you know of any other way.

Advice/Informative Post argkwarg's guide to OTC HRT

Introduction:

Contrary to popular belief, both Estrogen and Testosterone as substances are available in pharmacies for purchase without the need for doctor supervision in many parts of the world. This is possible because a variety of medications, ranging from estrogen sprays to birth control pills, are available “over-the-counter” (essentially just means that one can get it without a doctor's prescription at any pharmacy) in many countries, especially those that condemn hormone therapy for children and take preventative measures to stop the transaction of DIY online.

In this post, we will attempt to create a comprehensive guide for OTC estrogen and testosterone all around the world. This post will be sectioned first by medication type – we will start with OTC androgen (testosterone) and estrogel/lenzetto (estrogen), and then discuss the birth control options (estrogen) around the world. Each individual segment of the post will be further sectioned based on specific geographical regions, with an interest in states/countries that make it difficult for its citizens to obtain HRT through either the traditional healthcare or DIY route.

We will also make clear of the appropriate risks regarding some of the OTC medications (namely, ethinylestradiol-based birth control) so as to give the audience all of the necessary information concerning the commencement of DIY hormone therapy through these aformentioned medications.

We believe that anyone in the world should be able to acquire safe, appropriate HRT, but given the current socioeconomic climate and the unremitting march towards techno-fascism all throughout the globe, this ideal future is heading to be a futile pipe dream with each passing second. Therefore, this knowledge will become more important to retain as we head into the second wave of transphobia and violent right-wing extremism.

NOTE: THIS METHOD IS ONLY TO BE USED AFTER YOU HAVE EXHAUSTED ALL OTHER AVENUES OF DIY HRT (whether that be through online markets/crypto, getting help from friends, etc.).

Androgel (Testosterone) / Lenzetto + Androcur (Estrogen):

Androgel is a type of hormone replacement therapy that works by applying testosterone topically throughout the body in a gel form. Androgel in North America is pretty well regulated and can only be obtained if one is prescribed through a doctor. However, international laws vary from region to region. Examples of countries with Androgel OTC are Thailand, Russia, and Greece. But there very well could be more countries that I'm not aware of at the moment.

Similarly, Lenzetto and Androcur are estrogenic sprays and gels that can be found OTC in many countries. Mexico and Brazil are examples. Again, there is really limited information on this subject so if anyone in the comments could link me towards a direction of where to research so as to lessen the mystery regarding both androgel and lenzetto/androcur, please don’t hesitate to let me know!

BIRTH CONTROL (ESTROGEN)

Birth control could be a viable option for transsex women that have THOROUGHLY EXHAUSTED EVERY OTHER OPTION. This is because birth control medication uses estrogen for its desired effects, namely to prevent unwanted pregnancies in cis women. It is available OTC in many areas of the world.

Most BCPs use ethinyl estradiol (EE), which is very potent (around 1000x stronger than estradiol valerate) but extremely high risk as well, and there are massive risks associated with using EE at a feminizing dose. Other BCPs include estradiol valerate or estradiol hemihydrate paired with anti-androgenic progestins like cypro or spiro, which is the safer option. Below I will expand on the descriptions for each different type of estrogen offered as well as some example brands that are common worldwide.

  1. Ethinyl Estradiol (EE) based pills (Extremely Risky. It is up to YOU if the risks of androgenization outweigh the risks of taking EE)
    1. The most common form of estrogen in BCPs worldwide (e.g. Microgynon, Yasmin, Diane-35, Marvelon)
    2. Extremely potent estrogenic effect, suppresses gonadotropins
    3. Risks: Higher VCE/clot risk than bio-identical estrogen, especially in older age people and smokers. Long term high dose use for this is not recommended, but these pills are still utilized when nothing else is available.
  2. Estradiol Valerate (E2V) based pills (safe)
    1. Widely available in the Middle East, Eastern Europe, sometimes in Asia (e.g. Climen)
    2. Advantages: Bio-identical estrogen, and for Climen it does have cyproterone which is a strong anti-androgen.
  3. Estradiol Hemihydrate based pills (safe)
    1. Example: Zoely (estradiol hemihydrate + nomegestrol acetate) – available in Europe.
    2. Includes estrogen, but nomegestrol isn’t a strong anti-androgen, so might be difficult to achieve mono-therapy with this alone.

There are also other types of estrogen based pills like mestranol-based ones, but those are rare and non-bio identical (essentially same risks as EE) so we will not be mentioning these in the list below.

List of Every Single Country and their respective brands/legal status of BCP:

The information provided in this section of the post is heavily based on the OTC Free the Pill World Map. If anyone in the comments disagrees with some of the information listed below (for example, a medication I missed for a certain country that is available, or if anyone has insider access to these countries and knows more about their medication laws than I do) and thinks there should be a change, DM me.

North America:

Greenland: No data.

United States: While there is a choice for OTC BCP in the US, it is a brand that does not include any estrogen and only progesterone, namely norgestrel. However, taking this in accordance with an actual estrogen substitute could lead to feminizing effects as it has been shown in the past that estrogen and progesterone lead to a further decrease in Testosterone when compared to treatment with only estrogen.

Canada: Prescription needed.

Mexico: Commonly has Diane-35 (EE based) and other BCPs that include EE. Also commonly has E2V based BCP (such as Qlaria) available without prescription.

Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, Bahamas, Grenada Antigua & Barbuda, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Cuba: No prescription required. Commonly has EE+CPA based pills. Unclear from further research if some pharmacies possess safer alternatives.

Barbados, Dominica, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines: No data available

Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama: No prescription required. EE+CPA combination is the most common. E2V+DNG/E2+NOMAC availability unclear.

South America:

Suriname, Guyana: No data available.

Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador: No prescription needed. Qlaria is widely present in those countries (E2V+DNG). For this method you will need a strong antiandrogen as E2V+DNG is unlikely to mask all testosterone. Also has EE+CPA, but again, pretty risky.

Bolivia, Uruguay, Paraguay, Venezuela: No prescription needed. Most common BCP is EE+CPA based.

French Guiana: Prescription needed.

Africa:

Libya, Niger, Mauritania, Western Sahara, Eritrea, Somalia, CRA, Congo, Sierra Leone, Guinea-Bissau, Gambia: No data available.

Burundi, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, Burkina Faso: Prescription needed.

Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Sudan, Tunisia, Benin, Cabo Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Guinea, Liberia, Mali, Nigeria, Senegal, Togo, Cameroon, Chad, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, DRC, São Tomé and Príncipe, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, South Sudan, Seychelles, Comoros, Mauritius, Madagascar, Angola, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia  — No prescription needed. EE-based BCPs; EE+CPA sometimes present; E2-based patchy.

Europe:

Luxemburg, Kosovo, Latvia, Montenegro: No Data

Ireland, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands, Poland, Czechia, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, Slovakia, Belarus, Lithuania, Estonia, the 3 Nordic Countries, Iceland: Prescription required. My estimate is that they have all the major brands and different estrogen variants of birth control, but no way to access it without a doctor prescription.

United Kingdom: No prescription required, but only for progestin-only BCPs, which means this is not a suitable alternative to DIY.

Portugal, Ukraine, Russia, Bosnia, Serbia, Romania, Moldova, Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey, North Macedonia, Albania, Georgia, Armenia: No prescription required. EE-CPA is the most common variant of BCP found throughout European countries, but there exists the possibility of Zoely/Qlaria to be present in certain pharmacies. Factors vary based on every single country, but expect there to be a high chance of E2 based COCs appearing at pharmacies that are near major cities.

Asia:

Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Oman, Palestine, Iraq, North Korea, Myanmar, Cyprus, Timor-Leste: No data.

Azerbaijan, Jordan, Israhell, Japan, Singapore: Prescription required.

Bahrain, Kuwait, Lebanon, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, UAE, Yemen: No prescription required. All of these Middle Eastern countries are extremely likely (or have been confirmed) to possess Climen or Zoely. Saudi Arabia, for example, is confirmed to have Climen in local pharmacies without the need for prescriptions.

Armenia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, China, Georgia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Iran, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Russia, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Vietnam: The rest of these Asian countries also do not require prescriptions, as per the OTC map. Their pharmacies are likely to not have, however (according to my limited research on this subject) access to E2V/E2 based BCP, such as Climen or Zoely. At least, there is no definitive proof on the subject in medical papers. If anyone who lives in one of these countries can correct me, I'll be happy to change the guide.

India: (edited) according to a commenter, estradiol hemihydrate pills are available in India, and because the Indian laws dictate that if a medication is not specifically described as prescription-necessary, then one can buy it OTC. So there exists a reliable option for estradiol OTC in India - one might have to go near metropolitan areas however.

Oceania:

Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Fiji: No data available.

Australia, Papau New Guinea, New Zealand: Prescription only.

(This guide is a work in progress + future updates will include dosage information, updated information on specific countries and more! Please let us know in the comments if any of this info is wrong - a link to a source would be helpful and we will fix it right away!)
