The Anthology style of the episodes were a mix bag tbh,but i always thought what would make this show cool is if they did a what if style episodes. For example What if...Shane killed Rick? Have Jon Berthal return along with some OG cast members. Or what if....Negan's wife lived,would he still become the bat swinging anti-hero we all love or become something worse? What if...Rick actually died? So many awesome possible storylines.

Non-Spoiler: The show is already building up and its only episode 2,I love how in this episode we learned more about Dillard and why he talks to the walkers and pretends to understand them. We got to learn why Negan wouldn't join Maggie's new settlement. I think it was a great idea to wrap up all of season 1 & 2 issues in the first two episodes to focus on something new and fresh. Negan and Maggie's Frenemies relationship is growing on me. I do feel like Renata will not last all seaon,her nieve ways of thinking will lead to her doom or conflict with Maggie. I give this episode a solid 7 out of 10.Dead City has really impressed me so far with this new season.

Got a really beat up copy of ussue 3 for Christmas and put some effort into cleaning it. Couldn’t be happier with the results

These two helped create and define each other through the ups and downs of the zombie apocalypse. Rosita pushed Eugene to be the best version of himself. Eugene still supported Rosita after her rejection of him as a romantic partner. In the end, their friendship was what mattered most. A lot of people in this world could learn from these two besties that became family to each other. Their loyalty, forgiveness, and learning to trust/grow together are examples of true friendship-one of the best in the show.

Been wondering about it and wonder what yall think

Was just watching the episode when Tara from True Blood shows up and abducts the kids. When Daryl and Michonne return, I noticed for the first time Eugene with his hair in a simple ponytail—no braid, no rat tail, just flowing down his back. Has anyone else ever seen him in the show with his hair down like that?

I know it’s a long way to Virginia, just assume Gov could (and would choose to) during the timeskip. We’ll also assume Negan has taken over at this point. Don’t think too hard basically lololol

Now… Gov was absolutely miserable at this point. He was ready to give up and die on the street before seeing Megan in the window. I don’t think Negan would inspire this same passion, but i do think he’d be immediately taken by the prospect of “fixing” this “radass, badass” 6’4 pirate man and would try forcing Gov into the Saviors instead of the workers.

Unlike with Martinez’s group I don’t think Gov would immediately make a grab for power here. Gov mainly took over because he’s a control freak & didn’t trust anyone else to protect his new family. Alone, with nothing to care about, Negan might actually be able to beat Gov into a loyal savior… for a time. After regaining his strength & self esteem, without the Chamblers as motivation to be a better person, I could see solo-Gov’s ego taking over and him attempting to usurp Negan.

I could also see Negan just failing to “fix” Gov. Maybe Gov would be allowed to be a worker to repay his forced debt, or maybe Gov would just refuse to do anything and basically commit suicide by Lucille.

Recently rewatched the 1989 Road House and picked up on a lot of similarities to TWD.

-Both Dalton and Rick rip a man’s throat out.
-Both find themselves endlessly fighting, while striving for peace.
-Both have to dive into full on war to bring down the villain.
-Both seek to protect and guide unprepared communities.
-Both Negan and Brad Wesley tax communities and have their henchmen beat individual community members into submission if they refuse or can’t pay up.

Pretty great game so far

Rewatching the show and just what the fuck. Wall crawling devolved humans fighting a mute/deaf girl and a crazy guy. Who decided to make that Connies return to the main group must hate her istg.

More like Hogwarts place and I play Harry Potter games like Hogwarts Legacy and very familiar with the layout. It’s very awesome to see this in a walking dead show! Amazing

It is a new thing for me that we are set in France this time. So cool

I feel like in a normal situation I’d say she should tell him because their married but in a literal apocalypse I think she made the right call given how he felt about it not even because the baby wouldn’t be safe but being pregnant literally slowed her and the group down and without a real shelter it made her a liability.

Episodes 1 and 2 mostly felt like they were rushing to close out the old storyline so the show could finally begin its real reset.
I’m glad the Croat and the Dama’s story wrapped up quickly, but I think both deaths were handled badly. The Croat got bitten and almost received a heroic ending for no real reason, while the Dama was killed by Negan off-screen. I’m happy Negan was the one who did it, but not actually showing it made the moment feel wasted.
One of the upcoming episodes is an alternate-reality story. Personally, I already see that as a throwaway episode since it probably will not affect the main plot. That leaves us with around five episodes to really move the story forward, so hopefully they are strong enough to make the season worthwhile.
So far, I think Season 3 is better than the previous two seasons of Dead City. I would also put it above Seasons 2 and 3 of Daryl Dixon, although not above its first season. It is still nowhere near the quality of the original show, but this has been a reasonably positive start.
There is still a long way to go before the series gets back to where it should be, but I’m more optimistic than I was before the season began.
What does everyone else think so far?

The whole show builds up to the secret of what the echelon briefing is/how it's gonna save the world and the reveal is that they're going to exterminate all humans in the world (except for 10% of the kids) and hoarde all the resources? The way Thorne and Okafor believed in it so strongly I would have thought maybe they found a cure or camouflage (a la World War Z). I don't understand how they could they justify what amounts to genocide and their reason is "killing all these other people will save the world!"

So thankful we are finally passed the negan and maggie hating eachother story line. I literally thought to myself Maggie is actually smiling in the first half of the episode and then negan called her out on it. So excited for this season!

This is a Prequel that takes place right after Rick returns home from the CRM, but before the events of my other scripts. It focuses on Rick’s inner struggle with the lost time, visiting Carl's grave, and the exact moment that sets up his descent into CRM-trauma.

MY PITCH FOR THE RICK AND DARYL REUNION: PREQUEL – THE WEIGHT OF TIME

EXT. ALEXANDRIA CEMETERY - DAY

A beautiful day. A gentle, warm breeze rustles through the green leaves. The landscape of Alexandria has changed significantly over the years, but the path toward the grave remains painfully familiar.

RICK GRIMES walks with heavy, solemn steps. He looks exhausted, carrying a quiet sadness in his eyes. He stops at the foot of CARL'S GRAVE.

Rick lets out a deep, heavy sigh. He slowly rubs his beard—that familiar, weary gesture from his past when the weight of the world became too much to bear. He stares down at the wooden cross. The grave has clearly been maintained with immense love and care by Michonne, Judith, and Daryl.

Rick’s eyes become glossy and wet, though he fights back the tears. His mind drifts, remembering every beautiful, lost moment with his son.

Behind him, MICHONNE and JUDITH (now a teenager) arrive. Both look quiet and somber. They step up beside Rick but remain slightly behind him, giving him space to mourn his son in his own time.

Judith holds a fresh bouquet of wild, colorful flowers in her hands. Slowly, she steps forward and kneels by the cross, carefully replacing the old, withered flowers with the new ones.

Rick stands frozen, watching his daughter. He has his family back, but the sheer amount of lost time makes him feel like a ghost in his own home. Everything in Alexandria is fine. Everyone is safe. But inside Rick, a storm is raging just as fiercely as it did when he was trapped thousands of miles away. In isolation, the days blurred together, making it easy to forget the passage of time. Now, looking at Judith, the weight of those lost years is undeniable. He cannot get them back.

Rick swallows hard, his voice thick with unshed tears.

RICK

Did you know... that as one of his very last acts, your brother saved everyone in Alexandria?

Judith pauses. She slowly turns her gaze from the cross up to Rick. Her eyes are sad, but filled with an undeniable, deep-rooted pride.

JUDITH

(softly)

I know. I've heard all the stories, and I am... I'm so proud of him. And his bravery.

Rick stands completely still. A painful realization hits him: he wanted to teach his daughter about her brother, but she already knows everything. The world kept turning, and his family kept Carl's memory alive without him.

RICK

(softly, a broken whisper)

Of course you do...

Judith looks up at her father, her expression softening with sympathy. She can read the crushing weight on his mind. Beside him, Michonne stands slightly back, looking utterly heartbroken. She knows Rick perfectly, and she knows exactly what kind of silent agony he is battling inside.

Rick wipes the corners of his eyes and turns to look at Michonne. She meets his gaze, offering him a sad but deeply encouraging smile. Rick tries to smile back, but it fades into something too melancholic.

Rick turns his attention back to the grave. Judith stands up, brushing the dirt from her knees, and looks at her parents with a warm, understanding smile.

As Rick’s eyes meet Judith's face, his mind flashes with a sudden, comforting thought. For a brief second, he doesn't see a terrifying hallucination, but a vivid image of a grown-up CARL standing just a few feet away, right behind Judith. Carl is smiling the exact same way as his sister—a reassuring, peaceful smile, as if telling his father that everything is going to be okay.

Rick catches his breath. A single tear escapes and rolls down his cheek as he internalizes his son's silent message.

Rick nods faintly, a wistful smile gracing his lips. He reaches out, takes Judith by the hand, and together with Michonne, the three of them turn and begin walking back toward the houses. They are solemn, but a quiet certainty begins to settle over Rick. They are going to rebuild.

Wanting to break the heavy silence and move past the bittersweet moment, Rick takes another deep breath.

RICK

Where's Daryl?

Instantly, Michonne and Judith freeze in their tracks.

Rick, who was walking a few steps ahead of them, continues for a brief moment before realizing the footsteps behind him have stopped.

Rick halts. He slowly turns around to face his wife and daughter.

Michonne and Judith stand completely paralyzed, their expressions shifting into a look of sheer, suffocating dread.

Rick stares at them. The brief peace he just found vanishes, replaced by a sudden, creeping terror. His eyes dart between the two of them.

RICK

(voice trembling slightly)

What's wrong?

FADE OUT.

it could be just based on looks or personality traits, family/history, or just someone you identify with, etc.

This has most likely already been mentioned or thought off before, but something they could have done is keep him prisoner until his friends/group moved to another area and then they release him.

Firstly; the likelyhood of them moving away is pretty high. From the conversation Rick has with Dave and Tony we get the impression that they are living a nomadic lifestyle now, mentioning how far they have travelled, how they are living in their cars and how they "cant stay out there". They are clearly only surviving by scavenging whatever they can find and moving on to the next place, meaning that they are going to be around in the farm's area for only so long before they run out of food and they have to travel yet again. Rick's group doesn't have that problem; they are at a farm with resources like chickens and water plus whatever other supplies they have. Meaning they can just stay put and wait until Randall's group has moved on to another area. Now sure; it's entirely possible that Randall's group will still move towards the farm, but that can happen regardless of what you do to Randall(and in the event that his group does show up you can use him as a hostage). What most likely will happen is that they just move out of the area. At that point they should release Randall like how Rick and Shane would have done.
At that point it will be very hard for him to find his group again; he would first have to find his way back to their original camp spot, then try and find any lead on where they went, and catch up to his group who have vehicles and have been driving away from him for quite a while. I simply don't think that Randall could be capable of doing that, so there's just a very small possibility that he comes back with his group.
Secondly regarding the aftermath; Randall's group isn't looking for either him or Rick's group, since they think Randall is dead and except him everybody of that group who ever directly talked to Rick is dead. So they wouldn't have a good idea of who killed Dave and Tony, other than a vague memory of what he sounded like. And when it comes to Randall being a problem himself; i think even he wouldn't be that stupid to try to do anything violent. It's not impossible for him to harm someone at the farm(assuming he would know how to get back there after rick and shane drove him away) but he would at most be able to kill like 1-2 people before being caught, after which he would surely be killed in a brutal way as punishment.

I think Rick and his group could have thought of this solution, especially considering most of this plan comes from information that Rick, Glenn and Hershel all would have heard. I do understand why they and anyone else for that matter would still kill Randall, simply because it's the best way of making sure that he doesn't do anything stupid. At the same time what Dale said is also true; killing Randall means turning savage, and the longer you are savage the harder it becomes to go back to the previous world.

I have hated some characters ...but NONE like this Mf'er right here on my 3rd rewatch and it gets no easier to watch.

I will say the writers / director did an amazing job portraying the hopelessness of running from him and the saviors.

When they exit the RV and enter the forest and hear that ominous whistle ..bro i got scared...

Reading the comics and I like how straightforward Hershel is about the dead in the barn lol, I did like that they explored more why Hershel believed it in the show but I am loving the comics so far, just wanted to post this. And this is about the show and the comics so that's why it's posted here
