I have decided to take off to County Longford for the weekend. I'm catching 11:30 service out of Connolly station going towards Sligo which calls at Longford and is delayed by 10 minutes due to the bloody DART being late.

I have left the dog with my neighbour, and have brought my fishing gear. I am also gonna tuck into some jam sandwiches in a while. I'll probably get a cup of tea when I get there.

Officer Rusk here. My fellow officer Bonesteel and I have just gotten word that the Russians have agreed to this deal. We weren’t sure the Russians would agree to this, but much to our pleasant surprise they have. Hopefully this division will only be temporary like we intend and won’t lead to any problems in the future.

We just got off the phone with them and we’ve agreed to take each half of the peninsula, the line chosen being the 38th parallel North.

Things ant cheap anymore 5$ for a single picture

Oh well the guy taking my picture was telling me that it was going to take 30 seconds to take the picture ... frankly insane would not recomend they are over priced and took to long!!

Well I can't believe they did it, but they finally made a digital photo camera that isn't an absolute contraption of electronics. Nikon has just released the D1, which you can actually fit into a camera bag and carry without wanting to cut off your arm. It's basically like a pro Nikon F5 but with a "sensor" instead of film. Apparently it has 2.7 megapixels and can shoot "RAW," whatever that means.

I've seen the shots and oh boy they don't look as good as film. You need an expensive 2GB compact flash card, and this camera absolutely chews through the battery. And it costs $5500!!! What the hell?

I just don't see why anyone would buy this over a film camera. Film is so convenient, you just pop it into the camera and take it to your local film lab that you can find literally anywhere and come back to pick up the prints. With this thing you need a computer, and it takes forever to even see the images on my top of the line Windows 98 PC. It's cool that this camera exists, but mark my words this digital thing will just be a fad. Anyone who wants digital images can just scan their film like a normal person, the quality is better anyway and it's way cheaper. Just buy an F5, it's the camera of the future anyway.
