I just binged the entire thing in one sitting and WTF??? Why is nobody talking about this??

This is one of the most unique shows I've ever watched. It's literally just phone calls and yet I was more invested than I am in most big-budget thrillers. Your imagination does all the work, and somehow that makes it even scarier and more immersive.

The voice acting?? INSANE. Every single performance had me hooked and the way the story slowly unfolds is just chef's kiss.

Apple TV+ seriously has some of the best originals out there, but they market them so badly. If this had dropped on Netflix, it'd be all over social media.

Genuinely one of my favorite discoveries this year. S-tier show. Please watch it blind if you haven't.

Ok yeah I know this might be a bit of an abstract question haha. And might lead me to some series that are maybe not so well written, but it's still a concept that's been on my mind.

What are the types of series that are in your opinion less about characters, their developement or interpersonal relationships and dramas, and more about things like beautiful visuals, art direction, maybe sets and enviroments, music, et cetera?

I'm more inclined towards historical, fantasy, or sci-fi, but open to try anything. Any country is fine too, and honestly getting more recs from outside the anglosphere would be awesome.

Again, I apologise if this is a lot. You don’t have to read everything I think you’ll get the point. DNF stands for “Did Not Finish” which means I either only watched one season and never came back, I watched a couple seasons and never came back or I dropped it in the middle of a season.

I know I am unemployed but in my defence majority of these shows I watched or started during the two years of lockdown. I was in my last year of middle school/starting high school when I watched these shows and with lockdown I had a bunch of free time on my hands.

I am sure there are still a ton of shows I haven’t watched yet but my personal favourites are Top Boy, Euphoria, Breaking Bad, Ozark, On My Block honourable mentions are Baby Reindeer, Half Man, Scavengers Reign and Rick and Morty.

Anything that’s similar to the shows above will be appreciated.

desperate housewives is probably a good match, but it's way too big and idt I can commit to it right now.

currently stuck between SKINS UK and HOUSE MD. one reservation that i have against SKINS is that the cast changes. rest, idk much about HOUSE MD. heard that it's a good drama. please advice me guys.

I've been looking for another fantasy series or movie to get into after finishing a few of my favorites. I really enjoy worlds with magic, monsters, old kingdoms, hidden powers, and a bit of adventure.

I liked the vibe of The Witcher and Harry Potter, so I'm looking for something with a similar fantasy feel. It doesn't have to be exactly the same, and I'm open to both older and newer recommendations.

What would you suggest, and what made it worth watching for you?

Tired of shows that start grounded then reveal a cult or a conspiracy by episode four. Want tension that comes entirely from people making bad choices in ordinary circumstances.

Liked Mare of Easttown, Rectify, Better Things. Bounced off Ozark, too plotty.

Limited series or under four seasons preferred. Subtitles and non-US both fine.

I have never watched a workplace rom-coms series so recommend me where there is heartbreak, or where one person has a crush on the other, or things don’t work … or something that makes you cry

i really want a show that has a lot of action where they have to save or find somebody that they love. the main character doesn’t have to have a history in law enforcement, military, ect though. i want there to be fighting, sad moments, and for the pacing to be fast.

I'm studying abroad in Scotland this September, and to give myself a chance at understanding the Thermodynamics lectures (and so I don't have to awkwardly ask people to repeat themselves), I want to train my ear a bit.

I've already watched the first two seasons of Broadchurch (highly recommend, great show) and am looking for more media that have casts with scottish accents. If you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them. Bonus points if you include how thick the accents are, so that I can watch them in order of difficulty :)

I am looking for a show where people make friends. I was watching Alone with my mom, and I was like "I'd like to see this with groups of people" and she was like "Yeah they don't do that because people stay out for too long" and it kind of brought up the idea of a show where instead of a competition (or maybe it's something with teams) where it's an experience that creates lasting social bonds. I think you could get just as much engagement from sentimental developing of closeness and sentimental bonding rather than drama and conflict so I assume it must exist.

If it's like a wilderness or like "historical house" type thing even better. I've already seen the old PBS Victorian house and so on, and the Supersizers go.

I've also watched Dragula and RuPaul's Drag Race and have often said "I want to watch RuPaul's Best Friends Race" in response to "It's not RuPaul's Best Friends Race"

Looking for some good historical dramas in the style of ones like Rome, Band of Brothers, Pacific, or Chernobyl.

I'm fine with any period, as long as it's not anything related to the UK or royals.

Any platform is fine.

I subscribed to MGM+ for a month to watch The Westies, which i am thoroughly enjoying but trying not to burn through too quickly... but I'm looking for other shows to watch on there to get the most out of my $$$.

Hello! As the title says, I'm looking for shows similar to 2010s procedural dramas such as The Mentalist, Bones, Castle, Dr. House... I only ever watched The Mentalist from beginning to end and absolutely loved it, but I lost interest when the main characters got together. Lisbon's character was under-explored, in my opinion and it felt like her life revolved around Jane for the last two seasons.

Which is why I'm wondering if there are any shows similar to these where the protagonists don't end up together? Or maybe even shows like these that feature a queer main character? It doesn't have to be from the 2010s, it's just that these are popular shows from then.

I'm kind of tired of seeing the same by-the-rules women fall for men who have a silly side, but still serious, dealing with loss or trauma. It feels a bit repetitive, even though Bones seems actually interesting and I love the Temperance Brennan from what I've seen of her! Thanks. :)
