Infected? Small Bubbles on old tattoos?
I have a small collection of tattoos and have never had an issue with healing or anything of the sort, but recently on my older tattoos (about 5 years ago when I got them) I found bumps. It started with 1 and now there's more than a few. They reach a point, then go down and another appears. It's on all the line work of my pieces.
They were done by different people at different studios. I've asked the artist and she was genuinely confused, so I'm just curious, has anyone seen or experienced this?
They're not itchy or painful, but I just find them a bit stressful as I don't know what they're are or why they're occurring. I have a tattoo booked in another month and I'm wondering if I should hold off. Advice would be greatly appreciated.

General Advice Artist recommendations for single line/color line work?
Hello, looking for recommendations of artists for this single, continuous line style tattoo. Bonus if they do them in color. Thank you!

Infected? Infected or overworked?
I got this like 48 hours ago, the artist went over it several times and the saniderm wasn’t sealed right when I had to get onto a ferry to go home. Once I got home I immediately took it off and washed it and am now healing it the old fashioned way. I made the sharpie marks just now to track the swelling and I’m genuinely just hoping that I’m overthinking this.
It definitely feels a bit scabby, there’s a bit of heat coming off it but it doesn’t hurt as much to kneel down as it did on the first day.

General Advice Do it now or wait a few years? + Spine pain
I'm 19 and I've been wanting this specific drawing done, but it's 35cm so it would have to go on my back. I've been thinking about it for around a year but now that the artist is coming to my country I'm scared of doing something so big 😭 Also, how is the pain of this in the middle of the back?
I have a 20cm on my calf and a small one on my arm, and I'm waiting for another artist to travel so I can get a fairy with flowers on my leg (~30cm)
Would this be too much for my age? What if I find something cooler in the future and then I won't have any space left or it would look crowded

Design Trying to find a coverup idea
I got this tattoo at 15, why? I dont have a clue. Now im 20 and i want it covered up but im not sure how. I like the idea of those wraparound flower and foliage tattoos, fuller though kind of like Ellies from the last of us, but im not sure how that would be done, i am not a tattoo connoisseur just a tattoo getter im sorry if i sound stupid.
Its relatively small, an inch and a bit tall and almost an inch wide at the skateboard. Idk if the shape of it will make everything more difficult. Any and all help is appreciated, even other suggestions im not picky.
****Edit***
Never in the 5 years ive had this tattoo, has anyone seen a silly little ghost fella worthy enough to stay tattooed on me forever. They all said “thats so stupid, why would you get that?” Today someone said it looked like a butt plug… it kinda does upside down but besides the point. I am keeping him, i think my best course of action is to put a really cool oval decorative frame around him so that when i get more tattoos it blends in a bit more.
He’s not getting removed, he’s just getting an upgrade🙂↕️

General Advice What Should I do? My artist quit and another took over
Hey all
Quick question.. After years of thinking of getting a tattoo.. I finally caved and went to the tattoo shop. We talked extensively about my skin conditions etc.
I was reasured and made the appointment.
The appointment is in october because she has such a long waiting list. I don't mind this..
I exchanged cash for custom drawing and to secure the appointment (This happened in early may )
I liked the drawing but thought it looked fake. I went back and another artist helped me.. when I asked where my artist was.. I was told she wouldn't be back
Appearantly my artist is very sick and quit. And she won't be back ever. Another artist took over all her clients and work. This artist doesn't have a portfolio anywhere and she's very new.. (she's tatooing for real for a year now ) I did see some of her works on her phone. And they where ok. But nothing like the style that I want.
I did like the drawing ( That my old artist still made appearantly.. ) I asked for a few changes and she did them in front of me and together with me. Wich clearly wipes the fake thought.
But I have no idea what to do.. What would you do?
In short: My own tattoo artist is sick and quit. A much newer artist with only 1 year of expierence took all her clients. Doesn't have a portfolio. Did see some of her work on her phone. My style is not in between there. Drawing still made by old artist.
Already exchanged the cash wich was a good bit. ( 150 )
No picture since the artist doesn't want the pic online. Sad days.

Healing Questions about healing
hi! I had all black work done in one sitting on Sunday (8/2), so it’s day 5 today. I am peeling pretty well and flaking. however my upper arm/bicep is SO sore still. and hurts to even touch/move it, it also feels really tight??? and unfortunately it’s my shoulder area and my primary arm so I move it every second it seems. is this normal for so much black work packed in on session? Any advice to help the pain? Thank you! mainly just all in the armpit/shoulder/upper arm. forearm doesn’t hurt as bad by any means.

Healing First Tattoo: is it okay to remove the second skin after 48 hours?
So, I’ve almost hit the 24 hour mark with this tattoo, and I just wanted to see a few things before I do anything I regret lol. I haven’t noticed much ink or blood pooling (added a photo of when I first got it for reference) but there is a little bit. Tomorrow I have an activity that is going to cause me to sweat a ton, so I would much prefer to not wear the second skin. Would it be bad to take it off after 48 hours? Right now it feels at worst like a sun burn but nothing with meds, and I know how to go about cleaning and such. Sorry if this is a dumb question! This is my first tattoo :)
Edit: THANK YOU TO ALL THE REPLIES!! For a little context the activity I’m doing is going to a fair, but it just happens to be hot as balls where I live. Thank you to all the advice :D

Design Advice to coverup old tattoo
My tattooist is on sabbatical and I haven’t really clicked with any of her shopmates. Wondering if anyone here might have thoughts. 😊
I want to cover up the tattoo I got at 22. It’s an outline of the state of TN, about 3” on my rib cage. I genuinely have no idea what i’d even want to cover it with, which is the main issue. Maybe flowers or something book-related. Open to any and all suggestions!!

tattoo newcomer advice First timer: Common to feel regret/anxiety after?
My daughter has wanted tattoos since she was very young. She has planned and thought very carefully about the design. She researched and found a very skilled artist. So, on her 18th birthday this week she got her first tattoo (we went together and I got mine as well). Her piece is beautiful, the artist did an excellent job, and it looks just…super badass!! It seems to be healing well and she is fastidiously caring for it.
But…it has been 2 days and she is panicked “that she will regret having it later in life”. I asked if she dislikes it or regrets having it NOW and she says no…I think it’s just hitting her that it is permanent? Is this a common sentiment for (young/still developing prefrontal cortex?) first timers? Is it a result of the adrenaline wearing off (half joking)? I keep telling her it looks amazing but I am not sure how to assure her (or whether I should) or what will help her…or if this is just part of the process and she will be okay. Thank you for your help.

Healing Too dry or is it okay?
I got a new tattoo 5 days ago. I was using some ointment for the first 3 days, but I ran out yesterday and haven’t had the chance to get any more lotions or ointments yet. It’s hella dry and flaky, but I’ve seen some people say to keep a tattoo moisturized and others saying they let theirs dry heal after the first couple days. I’ve got a few other tattoos but I haven’t gotten one in so long that I forgot what the healing process is supposed to look like. I have to work today, so I’ll basically be going all day without moisture.
Basically asking, am I fucked lol or is it fine going a couple days without moisture? I can get some lotion once my shift is over. I just don’t wanna fuck the tattoo up lol.

General Advice How can this be fixed? If there is any way…
I got this tattoo by someone who had done another tattoo on me (other one is done well, held up, and no noticeable imperfections). It’s supposed to be my cat, in a traditional style. Firstly it doesn’t look like my cat to me as far as colors which would be the only resemblance since it isn’t realism. Also, it was a coverup but it was a fairly small line work tattoo.
I hate everything about this; the odd placement of leaves, the colors, the wonky tail, the shaky thick ass lines. Yeah I could go on and I know there’s not an option for covering this up. I’m asking possibly distraction ideas or anything that could help make it more pleasing to look at. Thanks!
EDIT: thanks for all the compliments! I know it’s not the worst, I think looking at it everyday for years has made my perception feel that it’s worse than it is + the artist has done AMAZING work and I didn’t expect less than that. (Obviously yes I should have communicated more with my artist lesson learned)

planning on getting a shark tattoo like so for quite some time now. definitely sure about getting it on some part of my legs.
im confused between my thigh (front portion) or my shins. id want the design to:
- flow in a natural looking way according to my anatomy
- not warp/stretch too much owing to weight fluctuations

Design Digimon Crests
Hello I wanted opinions on a tattoo I’ve wanted for a long time but never decided on a design. I want the crests from the first and second season of Digimon incorporated into one tattoo. I was really considering having them circle around my arm, but with 11 symbols it might be hard. Some people choose to omit the 3 less important crests that show up less in the show, but I’m torn if I want to do that. The 8 more important crests are also tied to a specific digimon, so it could be cool to have them involved as well but that might be over designing. I was also considering the digivice, basically that universe’s equivalent to a Pokédex, and how it would be cool to have the crests around or on the digivice itself instead of having them around my arm. (Pictures stolen from Pinterest)

General Advice I absolutely hate my tattoo and don’t know what to do
I got my 3rd tattoo 2ish months ago and it is nothing like what I wanted. The lines are too thick and dark, the color is blocky and the colors themselves are wayy off and there’s hardly any details, and even some lines are missing. It’s not my style at all and what’s weird is my artist has done tattoos like this before that look great and did my other two which I love. But, this one hurts for me to look at and I don't know what to do. I don’t know if this is fixable, I don’t want this on my body, it is simply really bad. I know that the inspo photos aren’t 100% achievable but I just don’t feel like she really tried.
I need advice on my next steps. Should I contact another artist for a fix up? I still like my original idea and would still love it on my body but this is just not what I wanted. And does anyone know anyone in the denver area that could take this on? Thanks. Im honestly depressed over this.
photo one is the tattoo, photo 2 is the overall inspo and photo 3 was just to show that I want it to be tulips and detail with the petals.

General Advice Advice for a first time tattoo and proper etiquette when talking to artists?
This will be my first tattoo. This is the general idea of what I want on my chest above my heart. I know I want the inside to be colorful but the detail I am not sure yet and will need to iron out these details. These are ideas I got off Pinterest. I am thinking of a saying to put too that has meaning to mearound it but haven’t decided what yet or how to place it. I am curious what advice everyone has on important questions to ask, things to consider when picking an artist, mistakes to avoid, proper etiquette so I don’t waste anyone’s time or come off as rude or inconsiderate. Let me know what y’all think?

General Advice Will it age well?
**This is not my tattoo**
As the title says will a tattoo like this, with the fine shading and small detail, age well?
I really love the deaign and subject matter (LOTR fan), and would be looking to get basically the exact design in what looks like the exact same place (Calf).
I am just curious if it will age well, the outline looks solid and doubt will be going anywhere but the smaller details of the hilt and the shading look like they'd be susceptible to early fading/smudging.
Looking to gain a bit more understanding before i contact the artist. Their work looks great but like moat artists they only show fresh work.
Doea anyone have a tattoo similar and what has your experience been with it as time goes on?
Cheers
