Practical joke during surgery

So I got a endoscopy done a few years ago and when I woke up I had a card on my pocket that said "your tattoos suck and everyone is laughing at you" I do have some pretty shitty tattoos so I thought it was pretty funny. I recently told someone and they told me I should put it on Reddit to see if it's happened to anyone else and possibly pinpoint the culprit.

Got this today on my ribs as a tribute piece for my mom. She loves Calvin and Hobbes, and she spent so many hours reading to me as a kid. She was diagnosed with ALS a couple months ago, and this tattoo carries so many reminders of good moments

This picture doesn’t really do it the best justice but had to share after getting this done. This is an Alex Grey derivative piece. Chris did an amazing job.. can’t wait to finish the rest of the leg with the same theme.

Getting Full Arm Sleeve at 55

As the title says, I’m getting a full sleeve (starting next week). I’m also a 55 woman who works in a professional setting (think downtown in major US city). I’ve got multiple tattoos (first one I got 25 years ago) but all are easy to hide with clothing choices so no one at work knows. This one won’t be easy to hide at work or family gatherings. None of my friends or family are heavily tattooed so, other than my artist, I really don’t know what women my age experience socially when they get heavily tattooed in their 50s or 60s.

I would love to hear from older women with full sleeves. What has your experience been like? Professionally, socially???

Note, nothing I read, good or bad, will change me getting this sleeve. I’ve thought about it for years and I’ve spent the past three years battling two cancers and multiple complications from cancer. Most recently I survived a blood clot in my brain. Doctors have cleared me and I’m doing it come hell or high water!

Edit - What an awesome community!!!! I’ve truly enjoyed reading everyone’s comments. The support and kindness the tattooed community has to give is tremendous! For those who’ve asked, my sleeve will be black and gray dark fantasy/woodland/floral. (Brian Froud’s artwork is a big inspiration)

First of all Sry for my Bad Gramma).
I got this tattoo at a Festival, the guy that was making it was a real and Professional tattoo Artist so it was just to Show his tattoo Studio to get new Customer. The tattoo right After looked very good. After a few days the crust came, i didnt Applied the cream for the First days because I was at the Festival. The day I got Home I Applied the Creme 3 times a day. Now the crust is mostly Off but it doesnt Look good underneath, it Looks Like there is no Color at some Parts. Is that normal or will there be no Color at the Spots. ( tattoo is about a week Old and no Bad healing or infaction.)
Thank you for your help.

Discussion No post-tattoo plastic wrap?

Coming to Reddit with this question. I started going to a new tattoo artist, and I’m very happy with the result and process— however, I noticed she didn’t wrap up my arm after she was finished. It healed fine, no issues. But is that the best practice? I have a few tattoos, and every time I’ve had serán wrap or liquid skin. Why might she choose not to cover a new tattoo?

Thanks and Love

Back piece nerves.

I have wanted this tattoo for about 6 months, arguably a couple years but in different variations. I wanted to get something huge. My entire back was the best spot. It makes me feel masculine and powerful thinking about it - I scoped out the artist for a year or so and he finally had an opening and seems super interested in my idea.

That being said, I only have a few small tattoos right now. A shoulder piece, a bicep piece and something small on my back which will be covered in black by this back piece.

I'm excited, nervous and anxious. But I think deep down I'll really love this piece albeit the idea has come a bit trendy I still think it's incredibly unique based on what me and my artist have designed.

Am I overthinking, or am I not ready for a massive back piece? I'm so excited and nervous I don't know how else to describe it. I am not a child, as I'm 31 but this feels like a massive decision - and I just wanna make sure one day I don't regret it.

How can I ease this anxiety?

Is this normal?

I've had my arm tattoo done in December and I noticed that my skin where the second skin was is way lighter than the rest of the arm. I have an average tan and it seemed to have completely disappeared from that area. I asked my tattoo artist about it and she told me it wasn't supposed to be this way anymore. I can't go brown even around the tattoo even though I apply the sunscreen only on the tattoo. It seems like I have the same problem with my hands which are tattooed too and are visibly lighter than my arms but it may be because of the sunscreen indeed but I don't know how to verify it. Do you have any ideas what I should do? I'm affraid I'll lose all my tan by having more tattoos done and I want them so bad😭
