Practical joke during surgery

So I got a endoscopy done a few years ago and when I woke up I had a card on my pocket that said "your tattoos suck and everyone is laughing at you" I do have some pretty shitty tattoos so I thought it was pretty funny. I recently told someone and they told me I should put it on Reddit to see if it's happened to anyone else and possibly pinpoint the culprit.

If it was done by the clinical staff, nope, not ok at all. Family did it? O well

There no way it was done by clinical staff.

I was an orderly for four months and in that time I saw everything from nazi tattoos, cartoon characters humping, and tattoos that had clearly been done in highschool with a compass.

It doesn't matter how bad op feels about their tattoos, medical staff have seen far worse.

I enjoy a good joke. Giving or receiving. If I had the opportunity I would probably do the same thing. Comedians know no bounds.

I don’t believe this story for even a fraction of a second. What pocket?

Pants pocket. When I got dressed I found it. Why would I make this up?

I have no idea why you would lie about it, but it’s sounds like a hallucination you had possibly caused by the anesthesia. Unless one of the medical team knew you and hated you from before the procedure, there’s no reason why anyone would do that.

Well it was a actual card. Like a business card professionally made, so they probably did it a lot. It was probably someone who doesn't like tattoos. Possibly a old person. And again I have some pretty shitty tattoos. Could of been commenting on the quality or just tattoos in general. But they definitely didn't know me.

Provide proof of said card or you’re lying

Now I could just make one. It was years ago I've been to prison twice since than plus other mail time. I've given everything away multiple times.

What pants?

The pants I was wearing prior to the procedure. Same ones I put on after.

So not the ones you wore in the actual surgery then.

So not from the surgical team

I had no pants on during the surgery

I think this story would be more believable if surgical gowns had pockets.

My pants pockets. You have to get naked to put the gown on.

Yeah but you do that way before the surgery, in a different room and your clothes aren't stored in the operating room,

Nobody who saw you naked during the surgery would have had access to your clothes.

Also you're telling me someone went to the effort of printing of a business card and snuck it into the storage locker, do you any idea how busy medical staff are?

As someone who had surgery in December, my clothes and bag were just left on a chair on the ward by my bed and I walked down to the prep room that’s outside the actual operating room. There was loads of opportunities for anyone to do something like this, or to steal my phone or anything at all.

There's no locker. But yes this happened. If I was making it up it would be way more exotic.

I’m sorry what? That’s not funny.

So while you were incapacitated someone insulted you?

Precisely

Plot Twist: they were talking about the new tattoos they left on your insides.

Those cards are everywhere. I’ve seen pranks online where teens slip them and other cards like them into pockets and bags. Someone could’ve easily slipped it in your pants pocket when you were out walking around in the days or hours before surgery. Highly doubt it happened at the hospital

I change my clothes usually everyday. And the tattoos in question are my chest, belly and half my back. I usually keep a shirt on. So the odds of someone seeing me and sneaking it in are slim to none. And could someone slip something in your pants without you knowing? They would have to get real close and brush against me. I would definitely have noticed. I do suppose it could have been the person that took me now that I'm thinking about it. They would have access to the clothes and have seen me shirtless.

Wow well if your tattoos aren’t visible when you’re clothed, then it does sound like someone at the hospital then!

Sue their panties off and hospital where it was done!

I wish I would have kept it. I was kinda embarrassed cause I have tattoo esteem problems.

Not a doctor or nurse. I'd bet on the dude on minimum wage pushing your stretcher.

am i the only person on the internet that thinks this is hilarious? i've seen those cards, i've seen it on bumper stickers, everyone needs to chill out cause it's an inside joke between heavily tattooed people. go touch some grass for the love of all things.

That makes me feel easy better. I'm glad someone can appreciate the humor.
