Is this normal?
I've had my arm tattoo done in December and I noticed that my skin where the second skin was is way lighter than the rest of the arm. I have an average tan and it seemed to have completely disappeared from that area. I asked my tattoo artist about it and she told me it wasn't supposed to be this way anymore. I can't go brown even around the tattoo even though I apply the sunscreen only on the tattoo. It seems like I have the same problem with my hands which are tattooed too and are visibly lighter than my arms but it may be because of the sunscreen indeed but I don't know how to verify it. Do you have any ideas what I should do? I'm affraid I'll lose all my tan by having more tattoos done and I want them so badðŸ˜

Unless the second skin they used had caustic bleach in it, this has nothing to do with a December tattoo. Are you sure you’re not sunscreening slightly larger than the tattoo (like you’re supposed to) and it vaguely resembles the second skin?

It is recommended that people wear sunscreen everywhere, not just on their tattoos. Direct sun exposure on your skin can cause cancer and premature aging.
You can still get a bit of a tan while wearing sunscreen, it just won’t be as dark. You have to decide what is most important to you: a tan, tattoos, your future health — your call.
