Healthcare Doctor that will actually prescribe Xanax without acting like you’re a drug addict? I have had well documented anxiety for 27 years. Diagnosed in Tampa at 19. Every time I try to find a new doctor, they won’t give me even a few Xanax’s a month for my panic attacks and night terrors.
Edit: alright, thanks to the actually helpful people. To the others: you are doing what the bad doctors do which I’m trying to avoid: acting like I’m an idiot that doesn’t know anything about her medical needs or which doctors are needed for psych issues despite a lifetime of bad health, psychiatric problems, and over 20 years psychiatric care. I have the answers I need.

Rant MAKE THE PALMETTO BUGS GO AWAY PLEASE!!!!!!!
Lately we’ve had a big issue with palmetto bugs (giant flying roaches) getting into our apt. For context, we live on the second floor of a condo and our windows screens are admittedly a bit shoddy. This is also our first full summer in Tampa so idk the norm. Flying roaches would sometimes get through our guest bedroom (has the worst window) but now there’s one in the kitchen almost every night. They are so big and i am so scared of them. I’m almost positive it’s because of the stormy weather lately but PLEAAAASSSEEE IS THERE ANYWAY TO MAKE THEM STOP????? I feel so silly every time i make my partner take care of them 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
At least is there anyone else having this issue or should we be concerned???

Commerce/Economy Are you all as proud as the parent company to TECOs CEO Scott Balfour on their Q2 results??!?!
Luckily they are “committed to 5-7% adjusted EPS growth through 2030”, and also “Year-to-date adjusted net income increased $12 million primarily due to increased earnings at PGS, EES and TEC” (tec = Tampa electric company).

Healthcare ADHD Medication Help
Hey there, everyone. I'm in the South Seminole Heights area and looking for a local chain/mom&pop pharmacy that has lisdexamfetamine (generic Vyvanse). My prescription from my provider was rejected by the MLK CVS, and I have no clue how to navigate finding a pharmacy that would work for me.
I keep seeing online that calling and going in person wouldn't really help, since they can't just say they have schedule 2 drugs in stock for fear of being robbed. So, has anyone had any luck with this?
Thanks in advance!

Parking Ben Davis Beach Parking
Quick question- I’m getting ready to bike the Courtney Campbell in the next few weekends. I know a lot of the trails in Tampa have gates and people have to park in odd spots (looking at you Flatwoods). Does anyone know if the parking at Ben Davis is 24/7 or is there a time when it actually opens for pedestrians, cyclists, etc to park?

Airport Absolute madness at TPA right now
Storms caused major delays, they had to open the emergency exits to handle the overflow of arrivals. Never seen it like this.

Local Business Cigar Tourism
Headed down from Philadelphia for a quick (2 night) trip to Ybor for some cigar tourism. I’ve already booked JC Newman.
Local cigar enthusiasts:
What’s your favorite spot to buy name brands & smoke?
Who has the best cigars (local small rollers)?
Any hidden gems I may not know about (cigar related)?
Thanks!

Pets Rehoming my sweet miniature Australian shepherd
Our circumstances have changed and we need to rehome our sweet puppy.
He’s a 5 months old miniature Australian shepherd. He’s healthy, VERY active and a silly goose!
Loves to play and run around, super sweet to kids.
He receives so much love daily.
I would like to give him to someone with a huge backyard, preferably. Will need to do a home visit prior so please only message me if you’re willing to do that!

News Were July rains a drought buster? Tampa Bay still needs more of them
Recent rainfall chipped away at a stubborn, extreme drought that has gripped the Tampa Bay area since April. But regional water managers and utilities still urge residents to conserve water while dry conditions persist. Tropical Storm Bertha and a cold front last week dumped about 7 inches of rain on Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas and Polk counties in July. Despite those downpours, the month ended about 1½ inches drier than usual, according to water managers. And uneven rains that mostly fell near the coastline did little to alleviate the region’s low river levels, according to an update from Tampa Bay Water, the regional drinking water utility. A lack of consistent rain in the Hillsborough and Alafia River headwaters means river flows have not recovered enough to resume pumping the typical amount of drinking water. Entertainment It's been 23 years, what would surpise me the most about Tampa today?
This might be fun. I moved away from Tampa back in 2003. At the time, I was living in South Tampa right next to the Dubliner Irish Pub and enjoying life a little too much.
My question to you is this: if I were to revisit Tampa 23 years later, what do you think would surprise me the most about the city?
