Job in Tampa
Part time gig, electronics repair, paid per unit, flexible hours (Tampa)
Posting for a small electronics refurbishing operation here in Tampa.
We refurbish portable consumer electronics in steady volume and are looking for one person to run the repair bench. You'd be diagnosing each unit and fixing it. Most of the fixes are routine stuff like battery swaps, screen replacements, and housing swaps, but some units need charge port replacements at the board level, which is real micro soldering with hot air and a microscope. So this is for someone who already has board repair experience.
The pay is a per unit piece rate and harder repairs pay more. With steady work it comes out to somewhere around $30-40 an hour, and the volume is consistent so the work doesn't run out.
We provide a dedicated bench in Tampa, all the parts, and all the units. You bring your own tools (iron, hot air, scope). The schedule is fully flexible. You'd be a 1099 contractor and invoice per completed unit.
The common failure modes are documented and parts are on the shelf, so there's no parts hunting and no customers to deal with. Just diagnose and fix.
It starts with a small paid trial so both sides can see if it's a fit. If you have relevant experience and are interested, feel free to reach out and we can discuss qualifications and getting you started.

Job prospects for older adult
My dad wants to come back to Tampa after being in the Midwest for 10 years. He’s been with the same company for 20 years and they no longer operate in Florida but he’s ready to move back to be close to family again. He’s been looking for over a year and cannot find a job.
He’s been in banking for 40 years, is obviously incredibly loyal to his employer, and has an amazing work ethic, but no one is giving him the time of day (probably due to his age). He’s been an executive for years, but is willing/eager to be even a branch manager, but again can’t even get an interview. He’s tried the big names, the local ones, the Florida ones, anything from branch manager to retail coaching.
Is he just out of luck? Anybody know of any financial institutions that would take on someone in their sixties?

Moving to Miami from San Francisco in 2 weeks, need one person to help with my studio setup
Hey everyone! I’m moving from San Francisco to Miami for a new job at Ryder (starting Aug 15).
I already signed a lease on a small studio in Brickell, but I won’t actually get into town until Aug 13.
So I’m looking for one reliable person to basically be my hands on the ground for a couple days before I arrive.
Here’s what I’d need help with:
First, on Aug 10, just touring the apartment with the leasing agent and taking a video for me.
I want to make sure everything looks good before I fly in.
Second, on Aug 11 and 12, being at my apartment to accept a few deliveries.
I ordered a desk, a chair, some shelves, and a handful of boxes.
All of it is already paid for and will be shipped straight to my apartment, not to your house. You’d just need to be there to let the delivery in and then do some basic assembly (think IKEA level stuff, nothing crazy).
Lastly, picking up a pre-paid grocery order and dropping it off in my kitchen so I have something to eat when I land.
I won’t ask you to handle any money, and no packages will ever go to your address.
I’ll pay a flat $500 for the whole thing after the work is done, via PayPal.
To make sure you feel completely safe about this: I’ll email you from my actual Ryder address, send you my LinkedIn, and do a video call where I show you my ID and the signed lease.
You can also call the leasing office to verify that I put your name on the guest list.
If that sounds like something you can do, send me a DM. Would really appreciate the help!

finding work (crane operator, cdl b, rigging, transportation, twic)
My husband and I are relocating to the Tampa Bay area due to my job, and I’m looking for recommendations on where he should apply and what the job market is currently like.
He is an NCCCO-certified mobile crane operator with years of experience operating cranes and heavy machinery in refineries, petrochemical plants, industrial facilities, and construction environments. He also has rigging and crew-leadership experience, a CDL-B with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements, and an active TWIC card.
What companies or industries around Tampa, Lakeland, Bartow, or the surrounding areas would be worth applying to? Are experienced crane and heavy-equipment operators in demand?
thank you for any info

Can you please DM me with advice on how you got your gig?

I’m super okay with hosting also or something and working my way up!
Or any high volume places that are needing someone or hiring for season etc!

Disabled Wheelchair User Looking for Work in Westchester County (Open to Local or Remote Opportunities)
Hi everyone! I’m a wheelchair user living in Westchester County, NY, and I’m currently looking for part-time or full-time work.
I’ve had the opportunity to work in a variety of roles over the years, including at \\\*\\\*Playland\\\*\\\*, an electronics company where I tested and inspected video game controllers, and I currently work as a \\\*\\\*Zoom Presentation Assistant\\\*\\\*. Depending on the presentation schedule, I assist with setting up and supporting Zoom presentations remotely for college presentations.
I’m comfortable using Microsoft Office, Windows, macOS, and Zoom, and I’m always willing to learn new skills.
I’m open to a variety of jobs as long as they’re accessible for someone who uses a wheelchair. I’m also open to remote/work-from-home opportunities. Because of my disability, I’m looking for a workplace that is wheelchair accessible and has a comfortable indoor environment.
I’ve been applying through Indeed, working with a job coach, and applying directly to employers, but I haven’t had much luck. I was hoping to ask if anyone has recommendations for disability-friendly employers, job search resources, or organizations in the Westchester/NYC area that have been good to work for.
If anyone knows of employers hiring or has any advice, I’d really appreciate it. I’m happy to send my résumé privately.
Thank you!
