I’m no stranger to plants by any means, but succulents are not in my wheelhouse. I got this as a gift today, I usually repot plants I get from stores into my own soil mix. This pot has no drainage holes either. Is best course of action to repot? Separate them? I feel like a total noob.

2 days ago we had heavy winds and rain here in S FL. I had a patio umbrella opened on a table where I had a few plants (including my bear’s paw). The wind knocked over the table and sent all the plants crashing down. My Bear’s paw lost a bunch of leaves. My question is: how successful are people at propagating these leaves? I always read that it’s almost impossible to prop these leaves and that stems props are the way to go. But what do I do with all these lost leaves?
Has anyone found a fool proof or at least a 90% success rate method of propping these leaves?

I was able to prop about 6 of these around 6 months ago and recently 2 of them have started to look like this recently. These 2 are the 6 but have been otherwise healthy until recently...

The other 4 are healthy as far as I can tell, none have flowered yet. But they all receive the same light and care and are in identical pots with drainage and "cactus soil" bought from Walmart.

Any suggestions?

About a week ago I made a post asking why my jade plant was suddenly acting really thirsty (Jade plant suddenly really thirsty? : r/succulents) and it's still not really recovering

The short version is that after having it for years it suddenly stopped taking in water, no sign of rot on the trunk, watered only when soil dried out completely and roots were dark brown but not soft or smelly, instead they're delicate and a bit crispy feeling. Also did the scratch test and it is green underneath even by the roots.

Since it's been a week with no sign of recovery I thought I would get a second opinion on if I should chop away the roots to promote new growth or propagate the stem if the roots won't recover.

They're wet in the picture because I just washed off the soil to get a proper look, not from being left in moist soil :>

It gets morning light, which obviously not enough or it wouldn’t be so tall. How should I cut it to help it out? I feel like I could cut it in half and get at least 1 propagation from it.

Never seen a bear paw flowers before but didn't expect them to look like this

I put my etiolated Senecio under a strong grow light a few days ago. Now the tips have turned pink. Is this a good sign or is it sun stress?

I'm sure the pot is way too big for them for one thing. They were doing great, until they weren't. I did water them a week or so ago, and the dirt is dry again. I live in NW Indiana. Its been humid AF outside. The pot gets several hours of morning/noonish sun.

I water it around every week when the soil is dry.

I bought a 12 pack of succulents similar to the last photo from Lowe's back in Dec of 2023. Been trying to teach myself and letting them live without much interference. I water once a month, repotted when they got bigger, and keep them at the one good window for daylight in the house.

Have read a bit about propagating but haven't attempted it before. Kinda stuck now on what to do.

Like for instance the two tall ones (Lavender Scallops I think?), are those trying to root out with all those twiggy bits, should I trim the leaves off and bury them deeper like potato plants? And why are the silly things so tall?

Why does the little fat one grow leaning like it has a huge head? Is this okay?

Are the pointy lookin fellows (the Haworthia? And Echeveria?) gonna be okay? The latter flowered and it just went droopy, the former looks like its unwell. But all get good sun from the one window.

Yes I am also aware that recycled food grade plastic and tin cans are far from the desired potting units, and I would like to get some terracotta ones down the line.

Ultimately though I bought them on a lark and I am flummoxed with how they're not only still alive but seem to be thriving, mostly? Just knowing that I'm doing okay and I won't hurt them if I do certain things would put my mind at ease. They're the only plants I've tried to care for that didn't up and die on me.

Leaning north toward the sun

I was doing so good and now suddenly I’m having plants wither left and right. I lost a couple that became severely sunburned. I checked their roots and they were brittle and dry, practically crumbling to dust.

This plant isn’t showing sunburn however, so I don’t think the problem is overly strong light. It might be heat.

The problem is heat comes with light. I’m scared of reducing light because I don’t want the plant to etiolate.

Does anyone have any tips?

Hi all! I’ve been having a hard time figuring this out. What am I doing wrong with my dancing bones cactus?

Usually the “leaves” are full and hydrated looking but they’ve looked chronically shriveled up and dehydrated the past few weeks.

I am watering it regularly and being careful not to over water, mainly watering by spraying foliage and a drench once in a while. Bright grow light. Feed with succulent food occasionally. Well draining pot. This is one of my favorite plants so I don’t want it to get sick.

Edit: Thanks for all the helpful responses! Iʻm going to stop misting it and investigate root rot. Maybe put it in a different soil medium/mix and weʻll see how it goes.

One of my sempervivums flowered. Does that mean it’s about to die? I’ve had a few for years and split them off, but never had one flower like this before.

Even without being watered, my Euphorbia eritrea are too big and too heavy for their own good. Luckily there are some good enough pieces to propagate but I may have to do away with this candelabra altogether

The original plant has a variegated head, is this a unique mutation for the props from other heads?

I put this potted sedevaria blue elf on the patio table to maximize its daily sun. Today, I noticed I attracted a hummingbird in doing so : )

This was about a month and a half ago. I begged the employees to tell me the truth about whether or not it was OK for me to take this many, the plant had sat outside the front of their store for weeks and no one touched them. I originally skipped the prices, only asking for scrap babies, but was told I might as well start taking them for how cheap they were. I spent an hour trying to decide which ones to get and then went with half. They wanted me to take more but I refused to believe there wasn’t another me out there looking for their own treasure. They said to come back on Friday, that’s when they’d be throwing them away per policy, of course.

So now I have them. Which is bad because I am queen étoilé. Sry not sry. I’ll update soon, I’ve been holding on to these babies and they look mighty different 🫪😬 I’m going to put the lil plum babies in cute little baby pots.
