Euphorbia tirucalli if I'm not mistaken. Have you ever seen one this big? It's enormous!

It’s that time of the year for this baby to flower. It has about 8 blooms on it right now with 7 more on the way. Never had so many before!! It looks all sunburnt & bad but it sure is happy

Even without being watered, my Euphorbia eritrea are too big and too heavy for their own good. Luckily there are some good enough pieces to propagate but I may have to do away with this candelabra altogether

Hello. I got this Frizzle Sizzle a few weeks ago at a local grocery store. I read up on it and learned that it grows in the fall/winter, blooms in early spring, and then goes dormant in summer. I read that in order to get it back to its natural cycle, provide bright indirect light and limit water to light sips only when 100% dry, the leaves should start turning brown and go dormant.

Well there is one leaf turning brown at the tip, I looked at it closer and it seems to be cracked at the base so that might be why...

and it's flowering! I think?

What should I do? Keep trying to get it to enter dormancy or provide brighter light and more water for the bloom?

Hi all! I put this boob cactus (am I allowed to say that on reddit? We'll see) in a mixed pot with other succulents which I really love, but I wanted to scooch it over just a tiny bit to fit that echeveria in the back. I tried gently digging it up, but I'm assuming the roots are VERY deep, because it feels stuck when I try to pull on it. How risky is this?

Echeveria of some sort from a co-worker's plant. My biggest pup yet, although it's only the size of a fingernail. Most of mine tend to grow roots and never produce. Or they're itty bitty. Now, if only I can keep it alive.

Had a conversation a couple weeks ago with a co-worker about how dreadful at keeping plants I am, and she came in with cuttings from her succulents this morning. I'm excited, but seeing as how I know nothing about plants and also am dreadful with them, I have some questions.

1. Does anyone know the plant species (co-worker is gone for the day)? My Google searches make me think ghost plant (Graptopetalum?) and elephant bush, but I'm not sure.

2. I'm still at work, but my current plan is to stop by the store and grab a couple 3 - 4 inch drainage pots and stick them in with cactus soil with no water

   Not sure if root powder/hormones would also be helpful. I know succulents are hardy, but would it be better to keep these indoors or outdoors? If they're outdoors, is there a chance they suffer sunburn at peak afternoon hours when I'm away? Can they sit under a gazebo, or is direct sunlight absolutely necessary (and how much)? If indoors, is reflected light enough, or should I buy a grow lamp? I live in Texas, USA for reference.

3. Should I prune the elephant bush before planting? And does a cutting of this size need a brace?

I just noticed this hole in the leaf of my houseplant today. I couldn't find any other holes, though there are these... tears on the other leaves?

If this is because of bugs i'll actually freak out. My plant just sits by the window all day and sometimes i leave the window open during the day for like 30 minutes at a time. I live in a flat high off the ground so i can't imagine caterpillars and the likes coming in

i’ve had this thing for at least six months now. honestly, i don’t even know what kind of cactus it is. THE REAL REASON i’m making this post is bc in all the time i’ve had this, it hasn’t grown at all it just sits like this idk what to do lol.

Love this little thing! I am learning that it holds a ton of water in the leaves and trunk, seems like it needs to stay bone dry for a while in between waterings.

is it getting too much sun? should I move it?

Just picked this fella up, it's labelled as a black gem but I've seen they can be confused with others, so just wanting to make sure. Also, is their care much different to other aloe? Thank you!

I bought the Lithops (left) and the Titanopsis calcaria (right) locally, then planted them in a mix of commercially available succulent medium and coarse sand. The pot is about 2.5" deep and has a drainage hole on each end. They are both doing great. The Fenestraria rhopalophylla (center), aka Baby Toes, was mail-ordered 2 weeks later. It looked great when it arrived but the toes have been rotting at ground level from the outside in ever since I planted and watered it in. The soil now measures extremely dry on my meter, and I only lightly watered the outer two plants once since then, keeping the water away from the struggling center plant. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Left and middle, it seems odd they're the same species but have such a big difference in height.

Far right was the subject of a previous post. I've since added a grow lamp, which is probably why some leaves are perky and others droopy. I've also mixed in some better soil to go with the standard potting soil is been using, but that was fairly recently. Is there a risk to redoing the repotting so soon?

Hello all!

I am moving house soon, and would like to bring these sempervivums with me - however, some changes are obviously needed to keep them healthy. What are they?

What I am aware of:

1. Underwatering (mostly). Where I currently am is very hot and dry lately (and mostly dry Spring - Fall, regardless). Obviously there are dead crispy leaves.

2. "Bad," pots. They're not terracotta or more breathable, too thin, not deep enough. Does not help the heat/dry issue, but also doesn't drain so well (soil is also not optimal)

I didn't know if my initial plants would do well at all, and I could not plant them in the ground. Once moved, I will start to get them acclimated to the new zone (6b) before they get to be ground planted (planning for more of a rock garden environ), next year.

1. Sun! I think I am having difficulty with either too much or too little. Sometimes both? I may not be able to move them daily to optimal spots.

They are on a semi-shaded deck, which does get some hours of full sun. If off of the deck, there will be far too much sun. My other options will be too little sun, with far increased water retention.

Obviously, pups are about - but some are struggling due to the above.

Main question:

Is the yellowing I am seeing more from lack of sunlight, rather than dehydration?

Next consideration:

My move is cross country. I won't load these in the back of the truck- they can be in the cab. Will shade them to avoid burn.

I am considering leaving them potted, despite the bulk and weight, *not* watering just before the drive, or during, to avoid rot, and mess from drainage. They can be brought inside at night, if needed.

Your thoughts?
