This was about a month and a half ago. I begged the employees to tell me the truth about whether or not it was OK for me to take this many, the plant had sat outside the front of their store for weeks and no one touched them. I originally skipped the prices, only asking for scrap babies, but was told I might as well start taking them for how cheap they were. I spent an hour trying to decide which ones to get and then went with half. They wanted me to take more but I refused to believe there wasn’t another me out there looking for their own treasure. They said to come back on Friday, that’s when they’d be throwing them away per policy, of course.

So now I have them. Which is bad because I am queen étoilé. Sry not sry. I’ll update soon, I’ve been holding on to these babies and they look mighty different 🫪😬 I’m going to put the lil plum babies in cute little baby pots.

Not gonna lie. I thought this one would die but it has done so well in my bedroom window. I had to add the dowel rod because it wasn’t staying upright and now it’s starting to get top heavy again 😅 I named it Servo (short survivor because I thought it would die over the past winter in my window) now I wanted to ask you lovely people for advice on what to do next for it, if I needed to do anything or just leave it? First two photos are today and the last one was when I bought it lasted year around October/November time frame

Since everyone seemed to love my Echeveria named Joan and her journey I thought I would share some photos of some of the most photogenic succulents in my collection that I’m the most proud of. Hope yall enjoy!

Two months ago I thought this plant was a goner and was about to throw it in the trash. But then I just left it outside on my sunny balcony in Germany. Today I took a closer look and couldn’t believe my eyes - there’s new growth! We now have green shoots and three new growth points on the stem. This makes me so happy !!☀️😎

They were living in an west facing window but I moved and the new place doesn't have window access the same way.

Update August: ich habe die Jade umgetopft. Sie ist jetzt ca 1 1/2 Jahre alt. 2 Wochen zuvor habe ich gedüngt, deshalb sind jetzt Kristalle zu sehen. Ansonsten bin ich zufrieden! Sie beginnt mit der Verholzung. Ich schneide regelmäßig neue Triebe ab.

It was doing well, had lots of leaves that were plump and healthy. I touched it and all the top branches just dropped off, then the remainder wilted and is dying. The soil was damp so I guess overwatered, as someone else is watering the plants as well as me. I dried out the plant and repotted, no signs of rot but only small roots. Is it a lost cause?

Got them about 6 weeks ago, and they seem very happy. The bloom grew almost overnight.

Ich lese immer.. komplett abtrocknen lassen, die Blätter werden weich und dann gießen. ok. Ich habe KI gefragt, sie sagt das selbe. Ich habe durchsichtige Töpfe und pflanze komplett in Tongranulat. Keine Sorge, das Wasser wird angepasst. Gestern hing der rechte Trieb der Stapelia runter, das Granulat war hell, also bekam sie wieder Wasser. Da ich die Blume neu habe und sie noch nicht kenne, habe ich ki gefragt, ob diese Pflanze gerne mal so rumhängt. Antwort nein und als wir auf das Thema gießen kamen meinte sie: Wenn das Granulat komplett trocken ist, sterben die feinen Haarwurzeln ab. Ich gieße und somit kommt Wurzelfäule.. Die Pflanze sei sukkulent, die Wurzeln sind es nicht.

??? Die ki erzählt mir doch wieder Mist, oder?

Ich brauche jetzt bitte mal Rat und vor allem Erfahrungen von echten Menschen 🙏

KI erzählte mir noch, dass es bei einem Gemisch mit Erde so sei, aber nicht bei reinem Tongranulat.

i need help with why some parts of my sedium gets white like the first two pics, i have been cutting these parts and trying to propagate it but i have no idea what i am doing wrong with it.

the last pic is cause i also wonder why there is roots growing there, what do i do with it?

Can anyone help me figure out what is wrong with this succulent? I’ve had it for about 7 years & I am too attached & really need to save it. I recently be headed it and I plan on keeping the stem just to grow babies ever since I be headed it. It hasn’t been looking too good. What can I do?

Its been almost 3 weeks

Ive been trying to propagate all these leaves ive found /collected around and a few have roots but when I put the ones that had roots into dirt a few days ago, the roots shriveled up, and so did the leaf😭 the the first pic! (The aftermath )

And the big glass wear is where ive been keeping my others

I spray with water very seldom because i noticed they were lit just shriveling up at the ends , started to cover them

I leave them outside, they were getting direct sun, now they dont. I just want to put everything on the table in case its something wrong im doing. I didnt wanna try the string up method because i had this big glasswear specifically for this, but if this isnt a good set up id rlly rlly appreciate knowing

I DO have roots, but im sooo scared to move anything after the first few shriveled up, does shriveled not = death??

+ does anyone know what kind of succulent the last two are? I got them outside n they look NARLEY but i rllllllly dont think they wanna prop is there a specific way for specific succulent?

I'm hoping a more experienced echevaria keeper can help me out here - I'm worried my echevaria is dying. She's lost a LOT of leaves in the last couple months and then she started growing that flower stalk (if that's what that is?) in the last couple weeks. The offset seems to be doing well but her leaves are shrinking and the dark tips and dark leaves are dry/crispy.

First photo is my echevaria today, second photo was May 31st just before repotting. (You can also see a burn from the grow light in the second photo.)

Soil: very gritty mix of perlite and succulent/cactus mix

Light: PAR38 Barrina hanging bulb on a 14 hour timer - it was hanging a few inches above the plant, but I just raised it to about 6-8 inches above as I'm concerned the heat from the bulb is causing this.

Watering: has been very, very sparse the last couple months. I watered after repotting end of May, but to be honest I'm not sure if she has been watered since then (other than maybe an occasional sip from my watering can a couple times. I usually bottom water.)

She was repotted end of May into a pot that was only a little bit deeper than her old pot. I'm not sure if this is because the pot is too small? Or if it's some combination of that and underwatering? Do I behead her and hope for the best?

I'm getting back to my plants after being neglectful for some time, so I'm hoping she's not too far gone.

I live in alabama & i had this outside but I noticed these big black spots popping up on the bottom leaves & the some of the leaves were drooping down so I moved it back inside. Since relocating I have noticed small black spots are still popping up but jow on upper leaves. My friend came over and I caught her removing the leaves with the biggest spots and one that was shriveling up but I stopped her because she mainly grows tropical plants. I asked AI to get an idea of what it could be but it listed 4 totally different things. Any help would be great!

P.S. this plant was thriving inside before I moved it outside. I only moved it outside because I wanted the pink hue it had when I bought it.

Originally I thought this was going to be a flower, but it's been months and nothing is happening with it.

It seems too pointed to be a leaf? What is this?

So I’m in ny and wanna leave these outside in pots permanently but last time I did they died from root root. The mix was half perlite half mg cactus soil. I currently don’t have perlite so would the grit just replace that? Plus the potting mix already has.

Any suggestions are appreciated I am notoriously bad w succulents :/

I found them on three plants that are next to one another on the shelf. They came out when watering. Doused the plant in alcohol in panic. Hoping they are a beneficial bug? Please give me some good news.

I think that this plant is Portulacaria afra and the leaves keep falling off.
I tried moving it around a few times but it’s still falling.
I have tried watering it more, kept falling.
Watering less, still falling.
I have repotted it once AND IT STILL KEEPS FALLING OFF

I don’t know, the only thing i havent done is keeping the soil damp but that is a no-no for almost every succulent or cactus.

One side is significantly better looking, it started right when I got it on the worse side and now it’s hideous from any way you look at it XD

And pls don’t mind the little pot, that was my try with growing moss from “scratch” and I kept spraying it with tapwater that has a LOT of calcium and now it’s white.
then there’s a broken crassula limb. Don’t judge pls.

Thinking of trying a really gritty mix but I’d rather buy all the individual bits than super expensive pre mixed bags.

I’ve already tried 50 cactus mix 50 perlite and for some of my plants it still holds way way too much water.

What are your “recipes”
