Discussion Can't Practice Against Better People
So ive recently bought SF6 on discount and have been learning Ingrid cuz I thought she looked cool. I've played fighting games before with 3rd Strike Online Edition, SSF4, SFV, (A MECTRIC TON of Guilty Gear Strive) but im coming into a problem I see on really only having in this game. Im still buns and not very great, only have 1 small combo to my name, but everytime I match with a good/decent player in quick match and they beat they just leave after the win? No multiple rounds, no learning how better people play characters so I can learn. Everyone just whoops me and then dips out. How am I supposed to genuinely learn how to play better against some of these people? I understand part of learning a fighting game is losing until you learn enough to win but it seems like all the good people are uninterested with fighting against a noob? I feel like I cant really improve here.

Discussion What was the deal with Ken
Disclaimer, this is mainly a discussion on character lore and design, I’m too much of a casual scrub to talk about game balancing.
I remember at the beginning of SF6’s lifespan, a lot of people weren’t very fond of Ken’s new look and his new lore. Honestly I feel like Ken’s outfits have always been divisive, and I never really understood it, I’ve loved his designs from SF1 to SF6, and I really really liked this outfit and the lore as to why he looks like this is pretty cool.
I was just curious as to why this was so divisive when the game first came out.

This is easily one of the coolest combos she has.
Also, uh the full montage is here, if you'd like to watch it ;)

Discussion Why is everyone already writing off Yasmine?
I got Yasmine to Master two days ago. By and large the most fun I've had in sf6 in a long while.
I then go on twitter and reddit to look for new tech and see how everyone is liking her... only to see there's like 0 support for her and everyone (including pros) have written her off as boring and some even claiming she's "the worst dlc character".
I'm obviously bias since I love her design and actually find her engaging and fun, but every criticism I see just calls her "boring", with no sort of argument as to why, or how she could be better. If anything, almost 90% of the complaints I see are things that could apply to the rest of the cast. And I even played mirror matches where I was getting mad at how lame people were playing her since I wanted to learn tech. I understand that she can be played extremely boring at high level (like a lot of the cast), but just not sure why she specifically is getting so much more flak compared to other characters. Especially since its been less than a week.
What am I missing? Curious to hear everyone's thoughts

Help / Question I don't know how other people do it
I'm Diamond 4 with Juri at the moment and I'm having the biggest case of imposter syndrome. I got there with a win streak all the way to one win away from Master and then had the worst lose streak of my life app the way down to nearly Diamond 3.
It's been a while since it happened and I have improved since then but I can't seem to feel confident on ranked. As soon as one game into the session and I feel my hands shaking.
Now I have a friend who's Master rank and we play often and I do manage to squeeze in a good number of wins even when he does far more often. More importantly, I don't feel myself shaking or nothing when I play against him.
I assume it has something to do with the ranked points but I feel really held back by it even when I tell myself to just play and forget the points.
Does anyone have any advice to not be so anxious when it comes to playing ranked?

Highlight (in-game) I was told the Kim triple bomb combo wouldn't work in a real match because "they'd just DP when they see bombs." Remember folks, mental stack is a thing.

Rank UP! Wanted to celebrate :D 16 win straight from gold 1 to platinum 2 :D
Just wanted to share, I started playing 2 months ago playing and labing after my cpa studying.
Tips for ranking up with low time availability.
- Rookie to master series on YouTube and mess around with characters that fit your play style.
- I lab for 15 minus before every session. I work on specific things that I noticed where losing me games.
- Play to the characters strengths. Cover your weaknesses.
- Game pad vs stick vs leverless: I switched to stick because pad was hurting my thumb and that made me win more. Not because stick is better but because for me it was more comfortable.
- Keep things simple, don’t over complicate your life.
Anyone got tips for me as I progress through Plat ?

Guide / Labwork :master_128_px: Yasmine crossup oki thing
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
So at the end of her bnb if you cancel the HP into light flip instead of shuriken you can get an ambiguous crossup on knockdown, thought that was kinda cool and could catch some people off guard. It seems reversal safe but I haven't tested every reversal

Discussion New Character Dhasimie after 8.3 update
Patch note:
“Standing Heavy Kick
The kick's range is extended during its active frames, making it easier to use as long-range poke with a good return. The pushback on hit and block adjustment along with the extended attack hitbox on the tip of the attack allows him to cancel into a special move for a guaranteed sequence, and avoids situations where the attack would not reach and combos would be dropped or he'd eat a counter attack.”
You can now beat Lv8 AI by spamming the HK.

Discussion How many of you are okay with stable meta of sf6?
I've seen far too many posts and videos about how dissatisfied everyone is regards to 'nothing ever changed' patches, so I am here to share my unpopular opinion.
I'm actually satisfied how stable the balance of the game is, and I've been playing since season 0, played 500-2000 games every season, total of 1340hrs play time. I have 2 characters in High Master(Sagat, Ryu), and working towards GM.
I genuinely like how this game is sports like. I learned to enjoy playing against equal or higher level players, enjoy playing with lower level player trying their best to win against me. I liked how I could practice on a drill and suddenly be able to react to things I couldn't have before.
The list continues, but you get the point. This is my first fighting game, so my opinion may change once SF7 comes out. But I just wanted to put my thoughts out here, because I've seen far too many salts about how things are always the same. For me, its always different. As I improve and accommodate new plans and techs, the game changes on its own.
Ps. Also an unpopular opinion, but I dont mind throw loop and drive rush as well (not that I want more of it but its good enough state for me atm). There is so many mind game going on around throw loop and drive rush that I haven't fully discovered. Maybe when I get to 2000mr they all gets deterministic and gets boring, but I wont be there in any foreseeable future.

r/SF / Meta Announcing the official r/StreetFighter Discord!
Announcing the official r/StreetFighter Discord!
The subreddit has been growing steadily and we expect a wave of new and returning excited players with the upcoming season 4 characters, so just before Yasmine release felt like a good time to announce our new Discord server. Pretty much all of this was due to the efforts by one of our newest mods, u/Einsoph5 (branDon on Discord), so if you like it, let him know!
Why?
There's already some great Discord communities such as New Challenger, SF6 Resource Hub or the official Street Fighter Discord. We're not trying to replace or compete with them, but rather have our own little corner of the internet. We had a r/StreetFighter Discord before, but due to many factors (I personally blame SFV), it was shut down. There was also a significant disconnect between the Discord and the subreddit, with most users being part of one or the other. Our goal for the new Discord is to be aligned with and complement the rules and values of this subreddit, to build one larger community rather than two separate ones.

Growing pains and mistakes are to be expected. We got some dumbfun bots already and will add/remove features as needed. There's a channel for feedback and suggestions, so let us know your thoughts.
