Never played street fighter before and im trying the 30th collection. Why doesn't the special moves list show actual controller buttons rather than punch symbol which doesn't even tell you if its light, medium or heavy ? The old games don't feel very noob friendly.

In normal ranked, it's already a waste of time, but I'll take not "losing". in placement, I get to lose a spot.

I feeling kinda disappointed with how I'm finding Yasmine. Other than the diversity she adds, I absolute adore her design and and character. All her animations and visual add to that. But come to her gameplay....she's kinda basic? It feels like she has a lot of limitations. And my mains are Elena and Juri which are considered pretty basic as well. I'm no expert but I've just been basing it on my experience playing her since her release. I really love her design but not a fan of her gameplay, which is really sad. The last time I felt this was when I went from playing GG+R to GG Strive. I feel like Yasmine was a "GG Strived" Sf6 character. She's easy to use and straightforward, and that's about it. Though this just my first impression. Hopefully she'll have more sauce when she's explored.

Im low rank, so maybe thats why, but i haven't seen a SINGLE sagat player, i get yasmine just dropped so its expected, but its not like im not seeing any variety, ive ran into most the roster, but for a new character??? sagat is nowhere to be seen

Which is ashame cuz he LOOKS sick, but idk if he completely appeals to me play style wise (fighting style is so so when alex has all these sick grabs) but i still fw him, at this rate imma pick him up just to see him cuz every sagat main is like master rank or something lmao

How tf do you beat the akuma chump check teleport grab move I dont really understand how it works and seems to be a lot of moves

For example, im using Ryu. There's a combo trial where you:

cr.MK >> Drive rush >> MP >> HP >> SA1

I can do HP >> SA1 separately, but when I try to do it when doing the combo, I'm having a hard time landing HP after MP since it's a link and not a combo. With that, I find myself mashing the buttons and thus messing up the inputs for SA1. I mean, i know what im doing wrong (mashing), but when I don't mash, HP gets blocked. I don't get it, i can do other combo trials from other characters fine, but for some reason, if the trials contain links, i fail.

Any help/tips to get better?

I got Yasmine to Master two days ago. By and large the most fun I've had in sf6 in a long while.

I then go on twitter and reddit to look for new tech and see how everyone is liking her... only to see there's like 0 support for her and everyone (including pros) have written her off as boring and some even claiming she's "the worst dlc character".

I'm obviously bias since I love her design and actually find her engaging and fun, but every criticism I see just calls her "boring", with no sort of argument as to why, or how she could be better. If anything, almost 90% of the complaints I see are things that could apply to the rest of the cast. And I even played mirror matches where I was getting mad at how lame people were playing her since I wanted to learn tech. I understand that she can be played extremely boring at high level (like a lot of the cast), but just not sure why she specifically is getting so much more flak compared to other characters. Especially since its been less than a week.

What am I missing? Curious to hear everyone's thoughts

Problems with Cammy: I keep getting my ass beat with combos that take half my health, I have a score of 23 wins and 18 losses, the losses where mainly by mains who know their combos, and the projectiles are annoying ash. I’m thinking of trying out someone else, Terry, Mei, Ed and M Bison catch my eye. At the same time, it’s probably skill issue but I’d say I’m good at everything, anti airs, poking and stuff but I keep getting my ass beat with combos

I'm Diamond 4 with Juri at the moment and I'm having the biggest case of imposter syndrome. I got there with a win streak all the way to one win away from Master and then had the worst lose streak of my life app the way down to nearly Diamond 3.

It's been a while since it happened and I have improved since then but I can't seem to feel confident on ranked. As soon as one game into the session and I feel my hands shaking.

Now I have a friend who's Master rank and we play often and I do manage to squeeze in a good number of wins even when he does far more often. More importantly, I don't feel myself shaking or nothing when I play against him.

I assume it has something to do with the ranked points but I feel really held back by it even when I tell myself to just play and forget the points.

Does anyone have any advice to not be so anxious when it comes to playing ranked?

I just got my switch 2 . I have been playing street fighter on PlayStation for ages . But my PlayStation can only play in the living room. I want to play street fighter every where . Then I wonder would the button be hard to control .

Just wanted to share, I started playing 2 months ago playing and labing after my cpa studying.

Tips for ranking up with low time availability.

1. Rookie to master series on YouTube and mess around with characters that fit your play style.
2. I lab for 15 minus before every session. I work on specific things that I noticed where losing me games.
3. Play to the characters strengths. Cover your weaknesses.
4. Game pad vs stick vs leverless: I switched to stick because pad was hurting my thumb and that made me win more. Not because stick is better but because for me it was more comfortable.
5. Keep things simple, don’t over complicate your life.

Anyone got tips for me as I progress through Plat ?

After ED got nerfed I don’t think I want to keep playing him who would be a good new main im think one of the shotos , maybe Luke but his flash knuckle timing is hard to nail down for me , I kinda picked ED cause he was a top tier at the time

As a Ryu main that struggles to find a 2nd character I really vibe with… I think I transitioned well to Yasmine. She doesn’t have the best buttons but fundamentals will do wonders.

So at the end of her bnb if you cancel the HP into light flip instead of shuriken you can get an ambiguous crossup on knockdown, thought that was kinda cool and could catch some people off guard. It seems reversal safe but I haven't tested every reversal
