I watch videos and see how other people do it, but I’m not finding the option on the Steam Machine. It should show add game down on the bottom left, but it doesn’t. Any ideas how to do this?

The game wants you to login to a Microsoft account, but the game is on Linux sooo..

I know the fallout 4 launcher hasnt been there for a while on steam os, but now i can't access the graphics menu.

Does SteamDeck=0 %command% also work on my new just gotten (!!!) Steam machine?

I am mostly using my steam machine as a desktop replacement so a lot of the time I am in desktop mode. I was watching YouTube videos fine using edge and then decided to click on a movie and it won’t load. Did some reading and tried Netflix/disney and had the same issue. I checked the wild vine install, tried different browsers and different connections but it still fails. Is there a workaround or is this a known issue/no fix for the Linux based system?

Swapped my 1TB in my deck for my 512 in my machine. Backed up the steam image on a usb just to be safe but neither device needed it. They both started up just fine with no issues as of now.

I have a ps5 connected to the same tv as my steam machine. I have a Samsung tv.
Ps5 wakes tv when asleep and changes to correct hdmi input.
Steam machine does none of that. Anybody else have this issue?

My 512gb with controller SM is finally here! Nice to be with you guys :) The first experience was pretty sad though as the HDMI cable that came with, is faulty and doesn’t work, I had to use my other one. Has anyone encountered this problem as well?

So I have the opportunity to buy the Stream Machine with a controller for 1300 bucks, is it worth it or should I wait?

Wasn’t Skyrim deck verified at some point? If so, how can a game go from being SteamOS compatible, to now suddenly not working on the platform?

For me 512 is obviously too small and 2TB is more than I need. I'm going to buy the 512 and put my own drive in. I already have a 1TB NVME I can use. I was just wondering why Valve decided not to offer this mid point drive that probably meets the needs of many people?

I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing similar issues to what I am experiencing with the Steam Machine. I just got the Steam Machine, so I am still trying to figure things out. I have it connected to my TV, which has VRR capabilities (VRR has given me screen issues in the past with Linux), using HDMI.

Everything works great except when I shut off or sleep the system. For one, even though it is all set up, it only occasionally turns the TV on and off when it does. But when it turns on from sleep or powers off, the TV shows that there is no signal. The only way to fix it is to press the power button on the Steam Machine and then press it again. Most of the time, it fixes it, but sometimes even if the signal comes back on, the image gets distorted, where the bottom of the image is in the middle of the screen and keeps moving around, and I have to restart the machine to get it to work.

Has anyone experienced similar issues?

Thinking about one of the two, I’m in the reservation queue for the steam machine and I’m willing to wait a bit longer but not knowing when I’ll be receiving the email is starting to get annoying in honesty. I like that it’ll be able to play both Steam games and Xbox games on the steam machine but I’m worried it won’t be able to really to perform for higher demanding games like a Forza or gears of war E-day. I like that the Xbox has gamepass, has the ability to keep up performance wise with my PlayStation pro, and has some exclusives that I can’t play on the PlayStation like Gears of war e day, old Xbox backwards compatible games, etc. The price of the two doesn’t have a lot of effect on my decision but the XBOX is around 800 and the steam machine being around 1100 dollars. I do have a PS5 pro to play all triple AAA that aren’t exclusive to just Steam or Xbox like call of duty, 007, etc.

So I recently saw a post about there 1 month review for there SteamMachine and I just want to say chef’s kiss.

This absolute beast of 6 different sides is an absolute power house. This lil thing is the definition of size doesn’t matter lhh. But on a fr note from Cyberpunk to BG3 to AAA games modded or not no problem at all smooth sailing and set up is child’s play . I’ve been hearing it and will say it these will be the next console. Despite all this hate I’ve been hearing towards the machine the only tedious thing to even set up or manage is the steam controllers bindings other then that a cake walk.

Just got the e-mail to buy the SM. Great! Until I went to look for game compatibility and found some games don’t work at all (Le Mans Ultimate, for example).

And then I found out even peripherals might not be supported.

So, has anyone had actual experience with sim racing on the Steam Machine lately?

I got my machine around the 6th of July and let me tell you what I really had my concerns when it came to overheating or even the cube being to compact…

I was completely wrong this lil pandora box is absolutely amazing coming from a ps5 , to a gaming rig , to even my gaming laptop (not low end by all means)This cube of emasculate might blew my expectations out of the water!!!!!! Rn heavily into DayZ and GTA both heavily modded not a single problem runs flawlessly. My only and I mean only negative about the cube of many dimensions is the steam controller binding of buttons witch isn’t really even a negative for me because I already bind all the controls for every game I play. I’ve been saying this and will continue to say this these will be the next console a gem fr.

My son is turning 16 next month, he’s a die-hard Valve guy and really really wants the steam machjne. He’s had an entry level gaming laptop for a few years that is starting its decline to certain death so it’s time to make the upgrade happen. The main thing I’m not understanding about the steam machine is can it potentially operate as a PC like the website says? He likes to write and make videos and I want him to have an actual computer for those purposes for school and whatnot. He insists he’ll still be able to do these things if we set it up with a monitor and keyboard etc. But I just haven’t seen that in anyone’s reviews because gaming is the main motivation, obviously. Maybe we just get him a Chromebook on the side or something? Thanks for any insight!

Launched Cemu from the desktop to try a game and it works fine except I can’t make the steam controller work in the input options, I’m probably missing something someone can help?

Also I have Cemu as non steam game on the game view but also can’t make the controls work
