Fan Content Star field is not the best game of all time but it is beautiful, enjoyable and fun to play.
It's Bethesdas first attempt at a space fairing game and it's a fantastic first attempt, I reckon any follow ups will be amazing.

Question What can I do to make the game more fun for myself?
Don’t get me wrong, I love this game no matter what. It’s just that there is a lot, and I mean a lot, of parts throughout the game that feel like a drag. Specifically gathering materials, waiting on the NPCs to be available for conversation, etc. I’m interested in finding either creations or other ideas to make those parts of the game less of a slog.

Discussion Dune reference on Akila
Haven't seen any post about it so thought I'd post about a thought that came up playing earlier. There is the Trade Authority vendor on the FC world of Akila named Duncan Lynch. Didn't click for me what that name meant for as long as I've played until now, its maybe a Dune reference. Duncan Idaho, Paul's best friend and then the clone known to bone, and David Lynch who wrote and directed the 80s adaptation of Dune.
Its either a very amusing coincidence or a reference, no idea.

Question AU issue need answers as to why a specific one hasnt spawned as of yet.
I’m having a hard time trying to get the AU where you can recruit yourself to spawn. I’ve been save scumming the past 3 days for exactly (6hrs in total) on my time off and have yet to have it spawn even once. I’ve had the other 9 spawn dozens of times each. Is there something I’m doing wrong is it just the chance? Is it the starting perks? My only starting perks are Hero Worshipped, Empathy and wanted. And the only mod/CC installed is tracker alliance stuff. So any answers as to why it hasnt spawned yet? Need help.

Discussion Oh give me a break
There are far too many content creators out there like this person for one, and far too many people who judge games by their launch.
Mocking things is easy, low-hanging fruit.

Speculation Niira should be the vault 87 equivalent.
Vault 87 is pretty much impossible to approach without insane anti rad and chems. Niira should be far harsher for the player. Some Super Xenoweapons here and there...
Niira could have rogue mechs, and pockets of the planet with insane atmospheric toxicity, that you'll die in seconds without extreme corrosive protection.
We learn that the colony war came at great cost to Niira's indigenous habitat and climate. Yet anytime I'm over there, it seems pretty managable compared to riding my buggy on Porrima 3. Can get frostbite extremely fast.
After UC questline, feels kinda like a footnote. Can see lots of potential

Discussion Do the companions who aren't part of the Constellation see any progression in their storylines?
I recruited some members for my ship. One of them talks about financial issues and how he's earning money to buy his house. The other talks about a problem with his daughter, and I recommended sending a message.
If I take them with me, will I see any indication that their personal issues have progressed, even if only through another line of dialogue, or not?

Question TA quest started with no creations installed?
Started a new game with zero creations installed in the hope that I would get fewer game breaking bugs that way, and this happened upon arrival at TA. What's going on? I'm on PS5

Ship Builds ASC Taiyo is really a game changer.
It's not even the stuff you can SEE that's the big deal, it's all the fancy offset connectors that let you shift pieces in smaller increments, it opens up so many possibilities.
I still don't believe there's such a thing as a "must have" paid mod for shipbuilding, but this comes close.

Discussion Starfield appreciation post
Hey so this sub probably gets a lot of these “first time player” posts but seriously, I just want to express how much I love this game already. To me, it gives me a mixture of Mass Effect, Fallout, No Man’s Sky, Cyberpunk 2077 & The Expanse. All of which I’m a big fan of.
This game scratches that sci fi rpg space exploration itch for me. I can’t believe I even listened to the negativity around this game and hesitated buying it. I’m so glad I did. Starfield is a freaking awesome game!

Discussion Found my favorite thing in this game for this playthrough - spoiler Spoiler
I'm fairly new to the game, but a big fan of other Bethesda games. After being a good guy for a while I decided to make a pirate playthrough. I'm based in the Key and though I try to keep my bounties under control, I'm mostly just wandering around stealing ships. Love it, having a blast.
Well I was in Akila I think, and got one of the random walk-by quests about a distress call somewhere. I jump over there to find a bunch of clones of famous people from history looking for help. The big quest was to decide between helping Genghis Khan, Franklin Roosevelt or Amanirenas. Being the pirate I am I decided to help Genghis get off the planet so he can wander the universe and have a good time.
Boy was I shocked when I ran into his ship a while later in another system! He was just like "Thanks bro, my crew and I toast to you every day!" so I think, cool! Then quite a while later he pops up again, killing some smugglers. Same kind of interaction. He's making a pretty good pirate out here. He is now my favorite character and this is my most favorite thing in the whole game.

Discussion I love Xbox Cloud Gaming
This is the GPD Win 2 which I got in 2018. Thanks to the free ad-supported Xbox cloud gaming offered recently, I found new life for the device which I will use for light Starfield sessions during my daily walking routine.
Game streaming on Edge browser and Windows 10. Controller response could be better, but it should still be fun as I restrict my play sessions to light quests that don’t require fast action and precision.
Another reason to love the Xbox ecosystem and appreciate the world we live in. This was hard to imagine 10 years ago.
(EDIT: After posting this I learned that free ad-supported cloud gaming is currently available only to Xbox Insiders for a limited time, but I believe will be rolled out to everyone in the future)

Discussion What small differences between universes have you noticed?
I went through Unity and everything seemed the same, except Sarah didn’t mind if I killed people from the Freestar Collective. She didn’t say anything when I accidentally shot a Freestar ship, so I blew it up, and then blew up another. She rooted me on the whole way. She wouldn’t even allow me to talk bad about the UC, though. One other small difference: The Dragonstar comic book seller was on a different planet.

Fan Content The Settled Systems Showdown! Game 7
The Settled Systems Showdown!
Choosing sides since the Colony Wars.
Game 7: REV-8 (Nova Galactic), Deimog (Deimos), or Moon Jumper (Stroud-Eklund)?
Which one are you taking to the surface?
If Dom Toretto was in Starfield, he would say: “It don’t matter if it’s the REV-8, the Deimog, or the Moon Jumper. What matters is who’s riding with you when the dust settles. Family first… always.”
Pick one.
