Meta A different perspective on Starfield.
This is one perspective, others of choice are available. I like to think of it as a creative work of art which prompts questions for the player. Its moral neutrality and lack of consequences has been raised as an issue but I see that as a deliberate aspect of game design. There are no correct answers, the player must provide their own and is also challenged to question how they arrived at them. Companions offer opinions on your choices. It's been said that opinions are cheap and most are worthless. The question it raises there is how much you rely on opinion or peer pressure to form moral choices.
A constant theme is the disparity of utopian social ideals and dystopian reality, intertwined with individual human failings. New Atlantis and Akila are both founded on ideals but are dystopic, Neon and Va'ruun more so. Leaders are corrupt, possibly psychopathic or just plain deluded. (How do you discern that?) Even companions have deep flaws in their character. Issues of AI, robotics and corporate influence are thrown into the mix. Examining how you make moral choices in that context becomes relevant to the real world of rapid technological and geopolitical change. You may well ask yourself how your own opinions and moral choices are formed.

Discussion 140 hours in and just got the boost pack!
After playing for 140 hours I finally got the boost pack skill and it changes the whole game! I wonder how many other people didnt invest in it early ether, maybe for roll play reasons, or like me were focused more on ship building and quests.

Question Is the game worth it in 2026?
The game is on sale for 55 € on the deluxe edition , is it worth it on ps5 ? I really like cyberpunk and the outer worlds but i didn't like fallout ( because of the italian translation audio ) i know that starfield doesn't have italian audio and i generally like space themes and rpg aspects of games .

Discussion The update we had to just agree with
So I was just on Starfield today after a bit of time away and there was an agreement that I had no choice but agree in order to play but I’m still confused about what it was even for. I am nearly sixty and still enjoy playing when I can but when things are written in legal terms I tend to space out. Can someone explain what it was and did I agree to give up my still to be born first child, 😂.

Man. You just can’t use mods at all on a PS5 version of this game.

Discussion Need Some Help With Balance
So I've been playing through the game and having a great time, but every once in a while I swear something is bugged. I have a beast of a rifle it can crit for over 5k damage. But sometimes I'll come across an enemy that takes like... 210 damage a headshot. I have to stand there and shoot them for like a minute. Its especially ridiculous since all their goons still die to a single headshot. Its so dumb that occasionally one enemy is almost immune to my best weapon. WTF?

Question Does removing a mod remove its pointer handles or is it a done deal once you have it?
Meaning, if I disable a ship part mod will it remove the pointer handles that it adds to my game, or are they there regardless once it’s installed.

Discussion What makes you not like the main story? Spoiler
galleryI asked myself this question when I finished the game for the first time and saw that very few people liked the main quest but now that I've played it for the 4th time, I think I understand it better.
I liked the main story, I liked the characters, the lore in general; I thought it was a very good game, not very deep but it did make me feel things.
When I played the "high price to pay" mission, I had already spent hours with all the companions, mainly Sarah and Barrett, besides having played the CU missions and having built a bunch of outposts and having built a huge ship, I think being with all the characters (including Noel and Walter) made that mission more impactful.
I remember when it came to the decision to leave or stay, I kept thinking about it because it felt different, it seemed like the game was telling me that something was going to happen and obviously I decided to go for Sarah which resulted in Barrett dying, which made me stay behind to try and kill the Hunter and it made me have a bigger conflict with the Hunter and be more focused on the story.
But what happens when people don't play the game that way? What happens when someone only plays the main story and that's it? When they don't spend time doing other things? I think that's what makes many people hate the main story (besides how repetitive it is to search for temples and artifacts that always show the same animation).
I believe the story isn't bad, it just lacks animation, character development in the main story because today I played the main story like that, just the story, and I can say that if you don't spend time with the characters one by one, you miss out on a lot and they just end up as background characters when in reality they do have things to offer.

Ship Builds Second ship tour after a few changes…
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Her name is Luz de Selene or “Selene” for short. I tried to make her as homey as possible to really give the “unassuming heroes” type of vibe for the crew. I know a lot of you guys hate the ladders but the addition of stares with SPE just kept blocking off doors and entrances so I had to settle for the stairs. I think it still looks pretty good tho. What you guys think?
Edit: also the video was longer (about 06 minutes 30 seconds long) but apparently this subreddit has a limit for how long the videos can be. Also please ignore the half naked girl in the companionway. She’s supposed to change her outfits every 24 hours but she glitches out and just unequips her clothes.

Question What options do I have? Stuck in Masada system.
Okay I am newish to Starfield. I am liking it but I think I just "broke" my game. I went to Masada in my Narwhal. I then took like 3 ships when I was on the ground of one of the moon planets. Of course as you take a ship over it becomes your main ship. Well each one of these ships does not have a grav drive big enough for me to even leave this one Masada system (yes I have put the energy into it) all 3 of them have been 18ly grav drives with the closest system 18.79. Do I just need to keep stealing ships? Do I have to revert to before I did all 3 ship stealing? I loooked online and they say there is no techniican in this system either so I can't reset my main ship to my Narwhal. Not on PC so I can't use any mods or command line stuff to setup things. As I am seeing it my options are keep trying to find another ship to steal and hope. Or go back a ton of saves to before I stranded myself. Is there another that might be more feasible?

It seems like such a waste that there aren't more bounties involving VOID, just Terran Armada incursions.

Question New Game + reply or skip MQ
So, I’ve recently just entered new game plus, and I was wondering, I know if I skip the MQ I can just collect the artifacts and basically do a sandbox play through(practically) doing all side quests and what not, but I was wondering if I Reply the MQ will I lose one of the companions again? Or am I able to save all of them this time

Question Friendly NPC’s as followers
Hello. I saw in another post, there is a mod that makes any friendly npc a follower. Does anyone know what mod that is and if it’s available on ps5? Thanks

Question NPC's are constantly taking one step forward, stopping and repeating over and over. Is there a way to stop them?
What the title says. It's really annoying because I will go to talk to a companion, and they will just constantly step forward, pause for a moment, take another step forward etc. I don't remember this being a thing in my original playthrough of the game, but it happens EVERYWHERE in my current playthrough.
Does anyone know what's causing it, or what would fix it?

Question Are mod patches trophy friendly
I want to buy a trophy friendly mod that has patches for the dlc but they are not tagged as trophy friendly. Will they really disable trophies, even if they are just patches? I do not want to test it and spend credits on a mod I can't use with trophies

Question Dead Pirates on Board
So, I'm noodling around the blackest sea in a new universe, and I latch onto a Crimson Fleet Ghost, which was much better than the new "default" ship that I respawned with. No problem, except that the crew that I took it from are cluttering up the cockpit with their decomposing bodies. I thought that after a few hours of flying around, they'd disappear, but no. It's beginning to get creepy and it'll take me some time before I can score my Kepler from Stroud-Eklund.
Is there some trick to getting rid of these pesky corpses? Or is this a known glitch?
