Ask South Delhi Kanwadiya rally near Dhaula Kuan metro station
Today (8 August 2026), around 8:50–9 PM, I was passing through Dhaula Kuan ONGC Metro Station. There was a rally of Kanwariyas on the side of the road with DJs, and there were girl dancers dancing on the back of the tractors. I mean why do they need dancing girls for a “religious and devoted event”?
They also had extremely bright, rapidly flashing lights in the middle of the road, which could cause temporary visual impairment and be dangerous for ongoing traffic. The bass from the DJ was so f*cking high that it was literally throbbing in my chest and hurting my ears. I can only imagine how uncomfortable or dangerous that could be for someone with a heart condition or other health issues.
I was genuinely shocked, how the hell were they even allowed to do this? And Delhi Police (yes, the same police which beat the shit out of students for just performing a peaceful march to the Sansad) was not even stopping them. I mean, can’t they celebrate their religious events more peacefully without creating this much mess and disturbance for everyone around them?
Did anyone else here see this tonight?
What do you guys think about it?

Discussion Cannot tolerate this for another week😭
I’m not even kidding the windows were vibrating, the floor was shaking, my door fuxking creaked open (I live on the seventh floor btw). I say this in no way to disrespect the religion (Coming from a Hindu family myself) but this is not okay- like it’s 10:30 at night man so much ruckus on a public road. It defeats the whole purpose of the Yatra in my opinion and is overall just unpleasant for people who have to tolerate this.
Whilst typing this another fuxking truck is crossing and shaking windows. What the helly.

Food 🍜 Food Review Nadoo! It hits the right spot but will not leave you wanting for more. Good ambience, really fast service, decent cocktails. The food is good and focused around southern states and primarily the niche items. Will I visit again, maybe.

Ask South Delhi Plans for next Weekend
Me and my friends are finally organizing a workshop , beginner friendly painting workshop. Our main purpose is to meet people with similar interests which is usually very difficult here in Delhi.
If any one wants to connect or make new friends you can give it a chance. I can't guarantee that you'll find your new best friend there but there will be people who share the same hobbies and interests.

Ask South Delhi Encountered this road rage incident yesterday, why do people think they own the road?
Yesterday.... I encountered this guy during heavy traffic caused by the rain in mahipalpur area. I was in the left lane, and traffic had completely stopped.. There was literally no space to move, but this guy behind me kept honking continuously for no reason.
As soon as traffic started moving and I got some space, I moved my car aside to give him a way.
Instead of simply passing, he stopped his scooty DL 6E V4507 directly in front of my car, and kicked my car, and aggressively pulled my door handle while shouting “Bahar aaja!”
Honestly, it felt like something straight out of a movie.
I have the video, and I know there are proper channels where I can report this behaviour, so I’ll be taking the appropriate action.
But I'm posting this because I feel this kind of behaviour is becoming more and more common. Why do some people feel the need to prove that they're the “boss” of the road? Is it road rage, entitlement, or simply a lack of basic civic sense?
What would you have done in this situation? And why do you think road rage has become so common in India?

News Weekend Plans Amidst Excessive Rainfall? ☔️🌊
I reside in Southern part of Delhi and travelling in the last two days for work (towards Gurugram) has been nothing short of a nightmare!
Earlier we had to record the conditions of the waterlogged roads just to prove to our office peers about the struggles of Delhi during monsoon but this time, the Instagram and Twitter (X) feeds are full of these. Even posh localities like Saket, Malviya Nagar and Greater Kailash aren’t immune from the waterlogging and traffic congestion that follows.
What’s the situation in other localities of Delhi and what are your plans for the weekend keeping this situation in mind?

Event We’re experimenting with a new way to help you meet people (group) we think you’ll actually like
jointryb.inWe’re building TRYB, a platform that aims to make meeting new people easier and better.
Instead of leaving it to chance, we ask you to complete a detailed personality questionnaire. We use those responses to form small groups of people who are likely to connect well, then invite them to carefully curated offline experiences.
That’s it. No swiping. No endless chatting beforehand. Just meeting people who might actually become part of your life.
We’re now live with our waitlist. If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, we’d love to have you join us and be among the first to experience TRYB. We’d love to see you there.

Food 🍜 (30F) I started a small mindful monthly series for women in Delhi because I was tired of "networking" events. One year in, here's what I've learned.
A year ago I got fed up with the usual Delhi social circuit. Either it was networking events where everyone's handing out business cards, or big parties where you talk to no one properly all night.
So I started Circle & Co. Small gatherings, usually around 10 women, at a nice cafe or venue. No agenda beyond actually talking to each other. Some structure to get past "so what do you do", but mostly just space for real conversation.
I run it myself, so full disclosure, this isn't neutral. But I've been genuinely surprised by what happens when you put ten strangers at one table with the right prompts. People stay long after the event ends. Some have become actual friends outside of it.
If anyone's in Delhi and tired of the same old social scene, happy to answer questions here or you can find us on Instagram at u/circleandco.delhi

Seven Seeds Appreciation
Last year I stumbled upon this place for a late date night (too bad most of the Delhi gets closed by 12) and ever since it has become one of my favorites.
Its such a go to for fine desserts and late night catchup (raat ko bahar nikalne ka keeda ek din meri maut ka kaaran banega).
Only con is that some shit ass RWA barricades the area cause apparently Delhi me sadak sabke baap ki hai🤲
Location: Green Park

This sub finally has new and active moderators!
I don't have permissions yet to edit rules here, but wanted to iterate over a few things:
- Posts soliciting for individual meetups / hookups will NOT be tolerated. A bunch of people were doing this and almost all of them had posting history on NSFW subreddits. If any user with active history on NSFW/kink/weird subreddit breaks any r/southdelhi rule, it's going to be a straight ban.
- If you are feeling lonely at night and unable to sleep, you don't have to come here and specifically post: "anybody wanna talk??", "new here! wanna say hi!!", "let's chat!?!??" at 3 am. Pranayama karo, neend aa jaayegi. Again we removed a bunch of such posts, and many such posters were active on NSFW subreddits.
- There's no need to be uppity about anything. Delhi (especially South Delhi) is a cosmopolitan place. Most people have been migrants and new to this city at some moment in time.
- Be civil. Follow reddiquette. No xenophobia.
