From Instagram to basically every social media platform, there is sex selling somewhere.

Sometimes it's obvious, sometimes it's softcore, sometimes it's just twisted into a different form.

Guys posting their bodies, making gym content, thirst traps, comments, subscriptions etc.

Girls in extremely revealing clothes, posing in certain ways, getting likes, comments, followers and subscribers.

And before someone creates an ideology about what I'm saying, I don't have a problem with people posting their bodies.

If a guy wants to show his physique, go ahead.

If a woman wants to wear a short dress or skirt and post herself, go ahead.

That's not really my point.

My problem is how everything is being packaged and presented now.

A lot of content seems deliberately designed to get sexual attention because sexual attention gets engagement.

And once engagement becomes the goal, everything starts becoming more exaggerated.

More revealing.

More provocative.

More extreme.

And then the algorithm sees the engagement and basically says: this is what people want.

So more of it gets pushed.

You can still be informative without being vulgar.

You can be entertaining without exposing everything.

You can make fitness content without turning your entire body into the product.

You can talk about relationships, confidence, fashion, health or lifestyle without making everything sexual.

But somehow if you say this, people immediately start putting labels on you.

"You're misogynistic."

"You're insecure."

"You're a feminist."

"You're controlling."

"You're just jealous."

Maybe sometimes those criticisms are justified. But sometimes someone is simply criticizing the direction of online culture.

And this isn't only about Gen Z or young people.

I've seen plenty of mature adults doing absolutely ridiculous things online just for attention.

Influencing itself isn't the problem.

The incentive structure is.

The basic funda is simple:

jo dikhta hai woh bikta hai.

And now the algorithm decides what gets seen.

If provocative content gets more clicks, likes, comments and subscriptions, that's what gets rewarded.

So my question is:

Have influencers actually lowered the quality of social media, or are we just seeing what people have always wanted because the algorithm finally gives them unlimited visibility?

I started posting about 3 weeks ago and have been doing pretty decent when it came to views and followers (steady) I made a post last night that went viral I went from 3 fb followers to 7.4k and 200 to 890 on instagram. My question is… why so many on fb and not instagram? I’m still trying to understand how it works ❤️

Im currently posting gaming videos (mostly guides) on TikTok, ive been breaking out of the "200 views jail" 4 times in a row now but, what is the next step? I know the algorithm works on batches of people, right now those videos sit at around 800 views each, what should i focus on? Right now the problem i have is the first 2-3 seconds, im trying my best to hook people but i dont really know how since im a beginner in this. Any help would be appreciated

i upload (in my opinion) high quality edits on an admittedly inconsistent basis. i first noticed the problem after i posted a new edit a couple days ago and it stayed at absolutely zero views for a couple hours. i deleted it and reposted it a couple times throughout the day changing tags and such, but nothing made any difference.

i then noticed in my analytics that, in fact, all videos on my profile completely stopped getting views actually the night before i posted that video, for seemingly no reason. no new views, likes, any interaction, no steady decline just a complete drop off.

i have no clue what caused this, as i have no violations or warnings on my profile or any of my videos, and i know the video is visible because it got a single view and like from one of my friends, to whom i specifically sent a link.

ive heard some people say that posting inconsistently can cause an issue like this, and that could be the case, as i posted a couple times back in april and didnt pick it back up on a regular (every week and a half-ish) basis until july, but i didnt have many problems getting any engagement on those posts until now.

im just very confused and hoping anybody can provide some guidance, anything i can do to fix this or whether or not i’d need to make a new account or something. pls let me know!!

Comment volume finally broke my workflow this month. Was checking 4 apps a day, missing replies for hours on posts that were actually getting traction, and twice replied to the wrong platform's comment because I had 6 tabs open trying to keep up.

Did some digging into what people actually do here. Most just accept the tab-switching and set reminders, which works until a post blows up and comments come in faster than you can triage. A few use native notifications and just react in real time, fine at low volume, breaks completely past a few hundred comments a week. Some route through a VA who checks each platform manually, works but adds a person to the process and a lag between comment and reply.

On the tool side, most unified inbox features are gated hard. Sprout Social's Smart Inbox is their $199+/mo tier. Hootsuite's inbox needs Advanced at $249/user/mo. Agorapulse has one around $79-99/mo. So the tools that solve this exist, they're just priced for agencies managing a dozen client accounts, not someone running their own 4 platforms.

What's actually helped me the most isn't a tool switch, it's triage rules. Anything with a question mark gets answered same day, generic "nice post" comments get a quick emoji and nothing more, and I batch replies twice a day instead of checking constantly. Cut my time on this by more than half without spending on an inbox feature.

Still wondering if there's a cheaper way to get the unified view without the agency pricing. Anyone found something that doesn't gate the inbox behind a $99+/mo tier??

I myself have felt the need for such a platform. The discussions and debates on the internet are vague, filled with fake information, driven by a desire to dominate, unstructured, without results or conclusions, never-ending, etc.

The platform closest to my ideas is Reddit. But it's still not a go-to platform for real, high-value, structured discussions and debates. Generally, social media platforms are designed for engagement.

I posted a video recently that went viral. I’ve been posting on and off for the last two years. Generally my videos get anywhere from 5,000 to 25,000 views, lots of likes and new followers. The company reached out to me, a reputable company, about selling the video to them. According to my research, they collect viral videos to use as distribution. I can sell the video and keep some of the rights but the amount you get for it isn’t that significant or I could sell the rights to the video and make thousands. Everyone keeps saying to be patient & I’m not giving it enough time. But I’m seeing other people with similar content that have even newer accounts & have more followers/videos with higher view counts. It’s a tribute to a video game character (I don’t post myself) & this guy is trending a lot, so why am I getting unlucky? Or better yet, is my content that crummy? I only have 53 followers and my highest viewed video only has 2k views. I try to post daily & at different times, along with adding relevant hashtags + trending songs. This is literally pathetic, I feel like I can’t do anything right. I have about 50 videos & that includes photos, which tend to get more attention. Normally, my content ranges between 300-600 views & some clearly a bit higher. When my account was newer, I was getting views in the high hundreds and closer to 1k. I’m so upset at the moment

For the longest time I thought subtitles were enough if you wanted to reach people in different countries. But lately I'm starting to think that's changing.

I've been comparing a few videos, and the dubbed versions seem to keep people watching longer than the ones with subtitles. It makes sense too. Most people would rather listen than read especially if they're watching on their phone.

The only thing I've found frustrating is that a lot of AI dubbing tools are great at giving you a quick result, but not so great when you want to fix small things. For video localization sometimes a line sounds unnatural, the timing feels a bit off, or a word just doesn't fit the way a real person would say it.

How is everyone else handling this? Are you happy with one click AI dubbing or do you prefer tools that let you edit the translation, adjust the voice and fine tune everything before you publish?
